You should be proud of those collard greens...nice work! I'm glad to see you use mulch, too. One way to keep garden pests from building up too much, especially soil born pests, is to rotate crops amongst your beds. There are plenty of references online. Just look up crop rotation.
My dad is OG og & he used to get SOME results with collecting some of the offending pests & blending them. Then spraying them back on the plants 🤷 Dont know which species this works for 🤔 I guess the scent of massacre deterred some of his pests 🤷
I live in Florida and have to deal with Iguanas who eat everything leafy. I planted dragfruit around the perimeter of my plants because it's a natural barrier that may one day give me fruit. Doesn't help with bugs though..
@@pharmunique I just came back in the house and something is eating the marigolds. 😞😞This has never happened before… we need to stick some garlic and onions around them.
Peace love, question about using pine needles as mulch. Do you use it with all your crops? How long have you been using it? Do you have concerns of the acidity long term?
This was my first year growing greens, i planted onions all around the border, but those white moths tore my collards up!! Do you evet have to cover your collards?
Believe it or not, I have never had collard greens. If you ever have time to throw onto some of your videos how you prepare them, I would love to know!
Beautiful collard's. I like to saute chopped garlic and red pepperflaked in avacado oil the put a half gallon size of largly chopped collards put the lid on and steam. Im new to the greens may i ask how you cook them
I plant onions around the edges of my beds! Love this method. Thx for sharing. After i harvest my onions, I i switch out for marigolds to deter pests.
Great tip!

But that’s a good trick.
Merrigolds are pest controllers, too. I plant them around my tomatoes
Yes I plant marigolds all over my entire garden!

Are using garlic and onion from the super market?
Are green onions sufficient as pest deterrent for collard greens?
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤

U use pine straw for mulch ? I’m new to this . Need all advice ?
Yes it one of my favorites. But I always recommend you get the type of mulch that’s accessible to you in your area.
Believe it or not, I have never had collard greens. If you ever have time to throw onto some of your videos how you prepare them, I would love to know!
Will do!

Could spray a neem oil diluted with water around the soil and on the leaves
Sure. I try to use neem as a last resort but it works well
Neither helped my greens. I had to use a net and it worked
