Wow! I truly appreciate you. I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life and I stumbled upon your channel yesterday. I am now binge watching your channel for the day & wanted to thank you for sharing your work. You are a beautiful, brilliant woman. Mahalo! ~Michelle
PS my neighborhood is actually a hidden gem that I didn’t even know about although I’m from here. I found it in 20 12 unincorporated “East Richmond Heights”. Beautiful views & amazing neighborhood! I think a lot of people would love to know myneighborhood exists. 2 blocks from Tibetan Buddhist monastery monk friends roaming happily all around! Wildcat canyon! Subscribed!!
What a sweet comment! I'm so glad you are loving the channel! Thank you for watching!
I absolutely adore West Portal and Elenas is amazing!
Went to nearby SFSU and this was a neighborhood I would frequent. Back in the early aughts, there was a very popular Ethiopian restaurant and another place I'd go for pizza. Easy access to downtown on the M line from where I lived and the neighborhood behind the commercial area is filled with amazing homes. The area sits in a microclimate, which brings fog in the late afternoon during the summertime. Loved watching it roll in after I got out of class as I sat down to a cup of coffee and a scone at the corner bodega on campus. Unfortunately, I left the area and am now completely priced out of SF's real estate market, but this area would be a top choice to live. Nice post!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
@livinginsanfranciscoca The other cool little spot around there, was Ocean Ave btwn Junipero Serra and 19th. Lakeside Cafe had the best coffee and Jitra Thai food was a hidden gem. Sadly, both are gone. Great neighborhood behind that district (to the south) with many beautiful homes. Apparently up in Ingleside, there's a road that goes in a loop that used to be a racetrack.
I used to visit San Francisco on a regular basis and am fascinated by all of the nooks and crannies there...
Grew up here and my family is still there. Being 15 minutes away from downtown by light rail, 5 minutes to the freeway if you commute frequently down the peninsula while being a walkable neighborhood gives you lots of options.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always good to hear form someone tho lives there!
I agree with you 100%. I grew up nearby in the 1950s and 1960s. West Portal is definitely under the radar and definitely better than Noe Valley.
Thanks,
George in San Mateo
Thanks for watching!
West Portal has one of the most charming neighborhood feels, great video!
Totally agree!
West Portal is socked in with fog in yhe summer time. Noe Valley gets sun like the Mission.
Agree, the weather is lacking in comparison for sure. The prices reflect that too!
I love rain n fog...it never rains in so cal
West Portal is such an adorable neighborhood!
Indeed!
It really has everything you are looking for in a neighborhood
Lived in West Portal. Less crime, Asians to the west, rich neighbors to the east, easier parking. But like all of SF the meter areas was 3 minutes for $0.25. Let me know if it's gone up since.
West Portal under who's radar??? 🤣🤣🤣
Believe it or not, many buyers that we speak to do not know anything about it. Even people who have lived in the city for a very long time.
homeless drugs no way
homeless people are everywhere in san francisco. It is not safe here
You must be fun at parties
homeless people are not everywhere in SF...they are contained on Hyde St and Leavenworth St between McAllister and Turk, where the services they need are available...do your homework before spouting off ignorantly
Ignorance is supposed to be bliss. But I guess in your case, it makes you a paranoid sheep.
