I still remember when my friends dad bought him one, he invited me over to play it. At the time it was like playing on some otherworldly technology. CDs? For your games? Memory Cards? Game Saves?! It even plays your music CDs too? What the hell?! Later on when I finally got one, we would play Destruction Derby Via the Link Cable on 2 separate TVs. It was amazing! The playstation 1 is my favorite console of all time!
In the early days of the Playstation in Europe the big system seller was Wipeout. Just about everyone i knew that owned or played a Playstation played Wipeout. Playstations playing Wipeout were even installed in Night Clubs for the 18 to 30 audience Sony was targeting. No other Console had anything like Wipeout at that time and Sony captured their target audience instantly. To say Wipeout was huge in Europe is a massive understatement, and it was definitely the first game i bought when i got my Playstation. I also got Ridge Racer as that was a near perfect Arcade port for the home which was a big deal back then. Excellent video, cheers.
I didn't get the system at launch. I was 13 or 14. I pretty much begged my parents and did chores for a whole year until I got it on the following Christmas. I'll never forget the year of paging through the newspaper and magazines drooling over it. Those were exciting times. (No internet back then) My top 5... probably Twisted Metal 2 Destruction Derby Resident Evil Resident Evil 2 Colony Wars
I was 10 when the system launch and at the time had a genesis. I begged my parents for a ps1 and finally got one Christmas of 97. It's probably my favorite console of all time as well.

I would love the one day have mint condition complete set of all the long box PS1 titles
That sounds expensive lol
Kileak: The DNA Imperative is still a fun game and i also liked espn extreme games, its a decent road rash clone but it is really hard
Yeah you need perfect runs to get 1st on the later levels
I still have my Battle Arena Toshinden Demo, No Problem! I never give up! Yells hahaha
