Trying to get some decent accuracy out of 117 gr BTSP in my Remington 700 SPS. If this next next set doesn't work out, just picked up some 117 gr SSTs. Powders used have been IMR4350, IMR4831, VV N550, and VV N165. Haven't been able to get below 1 1/4" groups @ 100 yds. Good luck and stay safe!!! 😉😉😉
I too wasn't able to get good results with 117's so I went to the 110's and both speed and accuracy improved allot. Best wishes on your future results.
Good Morning Dave!!! Think you got a Winner there!! RL-22 great powder I use it in 243win.with 105gr. pills. Fun thing is at the time I'm watching this I'm loading 170gr. Speer Hot Core in 8x57 Mauser! Have a Great day Dave!!!
Made me smile... Most of my deer catching was done with string and sticks... and yep the fundamentals disappear when the ghost of the forest appears in front of your stand.. great content
Love that 25-06 my favorite also love the videos you put out there you sir no doubt are a hand loader that knows his stuff and I’m sure you are above average shootin and huntin 👍
@@carlwilliams6300 Sad to say in my younger and dumber years, 850yds on an Buck Antelope with a 300 Win Mag. It was a lucky shot. With the 25-06 a good sized Muley Buck @480 yds.
Great shooting Dave. The 25-06 has a following for sure. I use RL22 in my 264 win mag but it has been very hard to find recently. Thanks for another great video
I am a 25/06 user as well. I have taken elk and moose with my mods 700. Still shoots bugholes. I would like to see a comparison of bottleneck lever action rifles. Box magazine type I have a few, they are great horseback and don't give up much to a turnbolt in the accuracy department. Browning chambers them in some pretty high intensity rounds, so does Henry. Savage , Winchester and others in the past also have. (MIROKU does now)
Great shooting, Browning rifles usually are accurate. The rest of this comment is more concerning your last video. I find that the magneto speed tends to walk regardless of the barrel, so I normally wrap some electrical tape around the barrel to give the chronograph more traction. However, the thumb nut still needs to be cranked hard when shooting 300WM
The 25-06 is a timeless performer. It's nice to see someone working with the 100 grain pills. One of the few calibers that can go from varmints to Elk. Last note is you have the habit of immediately putting your trigger finger in the trigger guard after you chamber the round and before you have your head down on the rifle and on target. Not a great practice. Feel free to delete the comment after you read it. It is meant to be constructive criticism.

Rifles have their own preferred loads.
You are humble Dave. I appreciate that. You are definitely not average.
Thanks but I miss allot of varmints at distance. I haven't been consistent with the fundamentals.
@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 You are still above average my friend.
Good stuff Dave!! ❤❤
Mornin' CW.

HaHa! As the saying goes, "Great minds think alike." Best wishes for your handloading results.
Good Stuff, Strohmeyer! Great caliber!
Yes, it is my personal favorite.
Love 25-06
Me too! Definitely my favorite caliber/cartridge.
Everything shot under an inch. Fantastic. Rockchuck vid is forthcoming. 😊
Have to scout out new territory, probably late April.
Who needs a 257 weatherby with those velocities. Love your shooting form!
Thanks Sandy for your comment here.

Very True! Thanks for watching.
That's a beautiful old Browning 25-06
Thanks for watching.
Great video Dave , thanks . I am looking for a 25 06 right now .
Good choice! Thanks for watching.
Some nice groups for sure and good velocities
It was a good day. Thanks for watching.
Howdy Dave! Great groups...that's a fine shooter with some great reloads! Take care!
Hello Ken. 25-06 is a deer and antelope getter for sure.
Great shootin! Brownells finally got 25-06 mauser barrels back in stock and been sorely tempted! this dont help me check my spending :)
HaHa! Good luck on your future purchase(s).
Old school=good school, in this instance.
Agree, newer doesn't necessarily mean "better."
My 25-06 loves the Speer 120 grand slam with IMR4350. Puts them in just over half an inch and slightly over 3000 fps
Yes, that is a good combination indeed.
Dave. Another good video with great shooting. Very nice SD's. I tend to get a pretty wide spread. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks Bobcat.

Thanks Carl for the kind words. When it comes to Varmints at distance, I do miss allot.
What is your farthest shot so far at any game varments and or big game

Thanks Chris. Yes RL22 works well for my magnums also. I wish I knew what is up with Alliant powders shortages.

Thanks for your comments here. Lever action rifles with box mags seem to be making a choice among many hunters.
Not bad. My savage 110 does 1" at 200.
1 inch at 200 yards is indeed exceptional. Thanks for watching.
Sweet looking rifle!
Thanks for watching.

I bought one of these and just hate it for the same reason. Slops all over the place. Bad buy.
It’s very good load. ❤
Agree and Thanks for watching.
That rifle is a shooter! Great video Sr.. the RL 23 powder looks interesting, How many grains are you putting for 25-06 and 100 grains bullets
51.5 - 53.0 gns. in my rifle only. Start low and work up cautiously. Thanks for watching.
@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 thanks!!

Good Mornin' Mike
Have you used the Hot Core to take any animals? I'm thinking of using them for antelope. I've always used Sierra's before.
Not the "Hot Cor" But I have used the Grand Slams with great success.
Reloader 22 and 23 is good powder but hard to find and about 100 dollars a pound
Fortunately, I use these powders in only a few rifles, so my existing supply will last awhile.

Thanks for watching. Finger in the trigger guard yes, finger on the trigger no, until tready to shoot. Just my preference.
I don't know anyone that pays attention to trigger pull when they are hunting
Agree, unless it becomes a good habit on a stationary animal target and not confused with shotgun bird hunting.
