I have a working labeled USB 3.0 port on my PC which worked for years until recently. I have never had this problem before and all I want to do is record my Xbox gameplay

I had my elagto hooked up thru a hub port and plugged my elgato usb directly into my laptop and so far no problems hopefully this solves all my problems
if you're still having trouble try unplugging the HDMI cable and plug it into the other side (another HDMI input) have no idea why this is a thing, but it helped for me

I tried these tips from the video, but the thing that I think that fixed my problem was: download ALL the updates from windows, including the optional updates. I think one of these updates fixed a driver and after that finally my problem was fixed.
Try using a different USB 3.0 port. My motherboard has 6, but only 1 of them works properly with the card. Also you may want to unplug it after streaming/recording.

FYI! The Red USB ports on the back of your PC are also USB 3.0... I had been using the Blue USB 3.0 port on the front of my case the 2 days trouble shooting this... They’re either blue or they have the SS marker on them. Yes in some cases I heard people switching out their cord works. This fix only works for some and it worked for me. I hope switching out the cord helps you.

I hope this helps man i just upgraded my system to windows 11 and while im recording with my elgato hd60 s after like 10-13 mins into recording my tv turns black the software keeps turning off and on so i gotta end the recording at that moment im hoping me upgrading to win 11 didn't make it worse i restarted my laptop and it was working fine for a few hours then it started up again any help would be appreciated

I just bought an Elgato HD60S. You say this has to be done every single time? Lol idk if I want this capture card man. I used to have an avermedia one back in like 2012, it was awesome. This sucks! I tried these "solution" videos and it still wont work.
You have to do this everytime, honestly depends on the PC and what kind of quality you wanna stream at, I used to use Avermedia too. Now I use an internal card 4k60 pro.
@@enamstarwalker very easy set up works out the box but you have to set it manually if you want 280hz refresh rate with the app (I have a video for it) it was pricey for me like $400 ish.
I tried all these steps and did exactly everything in the video, but it still says (it needs to be connected to a usb 3.0 port), my pc had a 3.0 port in the back but still have the problem. I thought it was the cable so I went out and bought a new cable but it still doesn’t work. Any advice? Btw great video!
@@iiTzBeee streaming, but most of the time just playing the game without actively streaming online, like having it open and streaming the gameplay to my pc with it, like playing my game in the hdcapture software instead of on my monitor
@@shadowfrost-kz5vo that sounds very weird make sure your pc is up to date, the software you’re using is up to date. Double check your settings in elgato capture
@@iiTzBeee i've reinstalled the drivers and software several times over the last few days, there hasn't been a change... i changed the ports i was plugging it into, no difference, all the hdmi cables, nothing. it continually drops as low as 1fps and sometimes loses the picture cutting to black.

Fix doesn’t work for everyone, sometimes it’s the cable, try switching out the usb cables but make sure it’s the same quality

Probably I always had 3.0 port, never had to add one.

My PC has a USB 3.1 and still can't get it to work, tried all 6 of the USB 3.1 ports and nothing.
I said in the video that this fix doesn’t work for everybody. Some people changed out the USB cord and the card started working.

Figured it out for mine. I had to revert to the previous software update on my elgato. For some reason when I updated the software it messed with it.

Yeah you could buy 3.0 ports but I think it works best with PCs that have 3.0.

It used to show up in device manager when I first bought the game capture but a few days the root hub 3.0 stopped showing up

This fix doesn’t work for everyone, this was what worked for me, sometimes you may need to switch usb cables.
