My daughter (a recent convert to Arne & Carlos Land) and I watched the first episode and loved it. She is undergoing chemo for cancer and is allowed to visit us, so we have been knitting birds and making prosthetic legs and feeling very amused. Your charm, humor, and kindness have kept company with us as we also watch past videos about making birds, visiting sheep in Lofoten, and making Christmas balls. Thank you for contributing to her journey returning to health!
Hi Katherine, we are glad to hear that your daughter seems to find some fun in our tutorials. We hope she will get better soon and we wish her a great week.
I didn’t mention it call us a nanny but I am knitting with chunky and beautiful colors will be on and I’m enjoying it very much. I have two of them done. How can I send you pictures of them starting my Christmas shopping and Nick and I do love all those little flowers that you made, and I would like to get some of those patterns. You gotta show me how 7:23
I love all the digressions! It really is like sitting and knitting with you. I really like the word of the day too. This is a very fun new video series. Thank you!
Hej Arne og Carlos I Was told that the reason English and the Scandinavian languages share so manny words are caused by the viking influence on England. And most of the words shared are the ones for stock, household items and family member mand=man viv=wife vindue =window kniv= knife Kat=cat hund=hound ect. The v and the f are similar sounds 😊 so mabe the word of the day should be a scandinavia word used as a loan word. I know that the Norwegians are so good to make Norwegian words like netbredt and Danes just take the English one because we don't have the examination to make up our own word's 😣 Love the show Keep safe
Arne, I love your shirt! "Kiste" meaning "trunk/coffin" - thanks for teaching us a new word in Norwegian. Please continue to teach us a new Norwegian word.
I laughed more in these 36 minutes than I have in a long time. You two are getting better and better at doing these. Two beautiful, sweet souls. In these troubled times around the world (and this horrific election season in the U.S.), it's so comforting to see beauty, positivity, creativity, goodness and most of all love, take the spotlight. Thank you both so much.
I love all the chitter chatter.. about knitting and making and all the off the topic tangents.... I am new to the Arne and Carlos family and think you two are just darling together. I love to hear about your culture, language, foods, travels, designs, relationship and stories you tell. Doesn’t everyone? I’m so happy you are getting better from covid!!!❤️
Greetings from Canada! This particular episode made me giggle out loud as I too love ABBA and especially the ABBA songs Arne was referring to. And you gave a "shoutout" to dear Oh, Canada for our healthy and overly friendly mosquitoes. Your podcasts kept me busy throughout the lockdown and helped me rediscover my lost talent of knitting. Thank you!!
Oh, my goodness! I can’t tell you how happy I was to wake up this morning and see Sit & Knit a Bit Episode 1 sitting at the head of my RUclips queue! Woo-hoo! I am currently knitting the Vanilla Sweater from the Woolly Thistle. This is my first top down sweater. I chose this particular pattern because it has a better chance of fitting well because of how it is built, in such a way that it mimics a bottom up neckline. We shall see! I have really, really missed the quarantine podcasts. I have been in “stay in place” mode since the last week of February seeing as I am 70 with high risk health issues. P.S. Your digressions are always welcome ones! ❤️🙏🏼❤️
Spending time with you both is such a pleasure. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country, your lovely garden, and for making me chuckle when I watch you chatting. You make my day😃
Really enjoyed the premiere episode of SIT and KNIT for a BIT. I was knitting on my gauge swatch and laughing out loud during most of the show. I'm excited to see the kiste that Arne WON at the auction. I can hardly wait for episode 2.
You’re “flying by the seat of your pants” is another saying. It’s very entertaining. I’d love to see videos or pics of your beautiful country and the projects you work on.
I really enjoy your podcasts. I work on knitted sock, crocheting a summer top for my granddaughter and also crocheting a toy llama and also cross stitching so I don’t get bored. I am glad you updated on your health. I really enjoyed your travels and excited to see your garden and Rob!
And we Dutch, also say ,, lap,, for square. I loved your half a our talk with us including Abba I'm knitting socks ( addiction😂) , cardigan, Tudor Roses sweater and a other cardigan also. And of course your ,, lappen,, for a blanket. And two other blankets in crochet . Embroidery, quilting and reading at this moment Henning Mankell , Kurt Wallander. Day's are to short for me. Oh ja, sewing my own clothing. 😁😁😁 Thank you so much for your time.
I loved when you talked about your favourite books and current reading during the quarantine podcasts. As a non-gardener, I love enjoying other people's gardens so I'm looking forward to seeing yours and your "flat" gardener. Right Arne...NO RISKS!!! Staying home is not a hardship when going out can be so problematic. Thanks for being so honest about your health. People need to learn what the results of Covid 19 can be. We're definitely not out of this pandemic yet. I really look forward to seeing how you pack your traditional costume when you finish the whole ensemble, and of course seeing you next May wearing them. Your ABBA digression had me laughing out loud. Love it. HUgs from Canada.
Yes! One new Norwegian word each podcast! Your gardens are lovely! Looking forward to seeing more of your projects. Can't wait to see you your Sunday tutorial.
Last comment I swear: I love listening to you both talk while I do things. Reminds me of the old fashioned radio shows that people listened to while they sewed or knit etc. Very relaxing.
I'm thrilled you are back doing podcasts. I love to see your projects, things you've found cleaning up your studio, old Norwegian books, your garden, dollhouse updates, the list could continue forever :). I'm also excited about new squares. You inspired me to learn double knitting when you first started releasing them. Thank you for all you do!
I just stumbled across this, and I love the idea. I would like to hear about some non-knitting things about your country, and the region you live in specifically. Food, history, local folklore, regional specialties, etc. I watched many of your quarantine RUclips videos, and was very entertained, and look forward to more of these. Thank you!
I love that you have continued with this series again with a new name. I also love ABBA so it was so much fun to have Arne putting song lyrics in like he did. This style is just so much fun because I feel like I'm getting to know the real Arne and Carlos and not the edited "stage" version. Your bantering back and forth is fantastic. I love the new poppy block. I'm still working on my Thorvald sweater. I have two or three posts on my instagram showing my progress. I am Katgo716 on instagram and I tagged you. I hope you have a chance to see it because making the blocks helped me enough with my colorwork so that I was confident enough to make my first colorwork sweater. Thank you so much for the lovely pattern and for helping me learn how to do the colorwork. I'm very proud of my sweater. Until next time, hugs and love from Maryland.
Oh this was hilarious! It reminds me of the saying “who’s on first”. 😂😂 Lots of fun and I like the word of the day👏🏻👏🏻. You both are refreshing and it’s fun to just sit and relax and watch!! Love the poppy!! Hope you both fully recover from the virus 🤞🏻.
I should say I love things European. Poppy is very European. It is a great new shape . It is a fresh exciting shape. You design so well all the time Thank you.
Loved the No. 1 podcast. It was so relaxing, I was knitting a sock while watching it and my tension became really loose.😁 I loved the word for the day. Carlos you have so much information and a wonderful way of delivering it. Arne, your sense of humor is so unique. Love the way you two interact. And the socks are spectacular and deserving to be stored in a beautiful box. Kudos to you Arne for winning the auction. Another note: You both looked very handsome and stylish and the backdrop was amazing. Thank you!
English has the word 'kist', which means the same as 'chest', that is, a big box. The 'k' is pronounced like the 'k' in 'key'. I inherited a beautiful carved kist from my grandfather, it is about 1m x 50 cm x 50 cm. I think the word may have come into the English language from Old Norse but I may be wrong. Love your Wednesday podcast; I think it is the perfect opportunity to do my yarn spinning! Keep safe!
Thank you for referring Kate’s The Last Homely House. It looks wonderful and excited to dig in. The two (four with the puppies) of you are making my work from home time so much nicer. Thank you!
The podcast was “A trip down memory lane”. That was GREAT 👏 More like those would be nice. Honestly though, whatever you do is much appreciated and I know will be just amazing 😍 Oh! And we all say stupid things from time to time so no worries there 😉 Oh Carlos, I’m so sorry to hear that you are still suffering the effects of COVID. I’m so happy to hear that you are taking extra care, please do. I know it doesn’t matter but you look amazing and healthy. I wish you both all the best Have you thought of making those RUclips Premier podcasts? That would be fun too! We could all watch the podcast at the same time when it drops and we could have a live chat! That would be AWESOME 😎
In English, we also have the word “cist” (pronounced “sist” or “kist”) which means “an ancient coffin or burial chamber made from stone”, they are often buried under a burial mound, cairn or longbarrow
I am so thrilled to sit and knit with both of you! Carlos, I can so relate to your lung problem. I learned in 03 that apparently all my life I have probably had 75% of lung capacity. This was due to my fathers heavy smoking. It explained why I have so much trouble at altitude, which has become worse as I aged. Today I am really feeling it because for 4 days we have had heavy forest fire smoke in our valley. (I live in Wenatchee WA and took your classes when you were here the second time. I knit Portuguese style and had just learned it then. You both really helped me!) Sorry for digressing. Anyway I understand how it feels not to be able to breath like you used to be able to breath. I do hope you return to full capacity! Arne, you got a hair cut! Your curls are gone! I just love your unique enthusiasm about life. I have become very emotional on thinking back on this year today. Such a strange year that only seems to get stranger by the week for me. A present it is a bit overwhelming. But it have learned from you both the sit down and knit it will be better. Thank you
I got the notification in the morning before starting work and this was my "end of the day" treat that I was looking forward to all day - and what a great treat it was! I have the biggest smile on my face now and the day's annoyances are just a distant memory. Thanks so much! PS re: content - I love your natural, "what we did this week, what we're working on, UFOs" topics. Also: what's going on with porridge-gate and did you ever find the Christmas tree after that wind storm?
Loved this format! Honestly, you could talk about making a grocery list and I would be entertained! I sitting here thinking about your long stockings....if I were to knit such a thing, there would surely be at least one mistake in it. In fact, I think there's always a small mistake in everything I make. This lead to me to wonder if you make mistakes? When and how do you fix them? I always know when it's something I can live with or not. I am working on a top down raglan cardigan and I missed one increase and did not rip back to fix it, I just added one stitch under the arm to compensate. So, at some point, would you consider discussing mistakes in your knitting and how/when you go about fixing them in a theoretical way...not a tutorial? I am currently knitting Cardigan No. 7 by My Favourite Things Knitwear in Isager alpaca and Sandnes Garn mohair. Thank you! Much affection, Jonna
Pitou Von Pitou It is one of those patterns that you have to knit to understand-it becomes clearer as you get to each part. I did have a point where I was lost and I sent Andrea a message thru Ravelry and her team cleared it up for me 👍
I have been living under a rock. This is my first Arne and Carlos experience and I am delighted. I will happily hear whatever you want to talk about. Can't wait to dig into the tutorials. Meanwhile, I am knitting a spate of baby sweaters for so many new people!
My daughter (a recent convert to Arne & Carlos Land) and I watched the first episode and loved it. In the Dutch language kist also means box, etc. and here we say we ad lib when we talk extemporaneously such as what you are doing now.
Rose Kriauza kist is also a Scottish word meaning a type of chest and also I could say “my mother hugged me to her kist”. Chest
@@selina1950 Interesting, there are alot of Dutch words akin to Scandinavia as l've noticed watching their movies such as "Wallander".

Very funny Arne with ABBA songs!!!! I cant't tell you how much you make me laugh. Thanks guys! Love your dogme style!!!!!
I am knitting Andrea Mowry’s colorwork sweater for men, SPICE. I am learning a lot, and it will be my first STEEK! 😰
Wow, you are very brave!!! Steeking terrifies me
Pitou Von Pitou It is one of those patterns that you have to knit to understand-it becomes clearer as you get to each part.
Can you talk about wool: twist ,ply, etc.,needles: wood plastic, metal etc.,and men’s sweaters.
Thank you for your suggestions!
Oh how lovely. A delightful way to spend some time, knitting and visiting with my two favorite “knitting dudes”.
I'd like to learn a Norwegian word each time. Thank you. I'm also a fan of ABBA.
You two are great! I love listening to you two and seeing what are doing. I hope you both recover fast. I love hearing about the Norwegian language!

Thank Goodness, I Like this so much more than the serious ones. Thank you for the Norwegian words.
Love this podcast. So nice to sit and knit and laugh. Love the Norwegian word of the day. Looking forward to the next episode.
