So for those of you who are planning to make the x-mas balls-here is my scoop on where to get the yarns. WEBS is back ordered for white and red and don’t even carry clover 215. Amazing-threads.com has them all, and based on US shipping charges is 9.50 they don’t charge for sales tax.
Thank you for sharing! Would also strongly suggest that people contact small, independent LYS that carries Rowan. The yarn may be sold out at Webs, but it is NOT sold out in the USA. Uncommon Threads in Los Altos, CA has also confirmed they have stock. Urban Yarns in Vancouver, Wool N Things in Orleans and River City Yarns in Canada are also bound to have. And Rowan at Finnegans Run in Virginia should also have it, as they are the only shop in the USA to only sell Rowan yarn. You can also call Grace Robinson in Freeport, Maine they always have a huge stock of all Rowan Yarns. L’Atelier in Redondo Beach, CA. Woolwinders in Maryland, Strings in NYC, Knit One Quilt too in Barrington, RI, Another Yarn in Burlington are all Rowan Flagship stores and should also have it.
@@ARNECARLOS in Canada there is a shortage of all the colours I say it's because of your encouragement, but also it is the lockdown in England impacting the supply chain. I found a LYS Aberdeen wool from which I can order. Th

Hi Kate! You will get there too, and we can't wait to see you unveil your silver play button! 25K is the first "magic" threshold. You've just crossed that. Now, onwards to 50K, 75K and 100K. You are closer than you think, you'll see... Loved seeing you packing your Christmas Boxes - looked like you had quite the assembly line on your lime green sofa.

Oh my days you two are just the best tonic and are available free on prescription. Your language skills are AMAZING and I so love to listen to you. Thank you so much for shouting out Kate at the last homely house, she is such a lovely human. Xx

Congratulations Arne and Carlos on getting your Silver Playbutton. You always bring such joy to my day. Love the Genealogy, I put my Family tree together of both sided of my family for my children. It was just a lovely project and I am so pleased I could do it and it was so helpful having the Internet to work from. How lovely to have the painting from your ancestor. As soon as tangled balls were mentioned I also broke into a fit of giggles along with Arne. Beautiful knitting and a very delightful video xxx Hugs Avril xxx

Another lovely visit... thank you both. And while Erik may wish you would stick to 30 minutes, I certainly love the longer chats as I am sure everyone commenting here does too!
Janet from Manitowoc Wisconsin USA here. Manitowoc is a little town on one of our 5 Great Lakes -- Lake Michigan. Just wanted to thank you for helping me get through this challenging time. I especially enjoy Sit and Knit For a Bit... It feels like I invited two friends over for coffee and a few laughs.
Wow, you both deserve it!! You guys saved me when we went in quarantine, I got so depressed everything looked dark. Because of all the COVID restrictions you have been a lovely part of my life........I feel like I’m in a conversation, just silently. Thanks for helping me during this time of Covid
Dear Arne and Carlos, As always, a great podcast, thank you both. It is no surprise that you have so many subscribers... you are genuinely nice guys and people respond to that. I look forward to Wednesdays, you definitely brighten Lockdown!
Dear Arne & Carlos! I'm having covid atm, alone in a very small and dark apartment in a big city - far from my friends and family. Started to knit my very first jumper (with a little help of my mom via skype), and recently discovered your channel. I just wanted to let you know that your videos give me peace and make me calm, feeling like I have friends to knit together. Thank you for being funny and kind and patient, you two seem like very lovely people!
I appreciate your kindness, creativity and the way you handle challenges, along with your sharing history and how to vids. You are a real comfort in these isolating times. Thank you for being you!
I so look forward to the sit and knit for a bit. It is an hour of learning and laughing. I love the relationship you two have, filled with consideration and kindness for each other and all who join the You Tube family. Thank you,
Every week I think to myself that “this episode was the best.” But I really thing this one was the best so far. You are both getting to be so relaxed, I feel like you are really my friends. This week I loved watching Arne’s face when Carlos was describing the whole napkin ring situation. There was some mighty fine teasing going on! Love you both and congratulate you on you RUclips recognition! Can’t wait to hear the parallel story next week!
Congratulation & what a lovely letter! You covered so many subjects today and I enjoyed them all. So glad your paths collided. It was meant to be. Looking forward to hearing more.
Wooooo well done guys. I have to tell you I didnt get mine after I hit 100,000 😔 youtube kept telling me it was sent. No joy for months so i gave up... then only recently 18 MONTHS later I found it covered in spider web in my shed. Apparently when it was deliverd I wasn't home. My neighbour took it in put it in my shed for me forgot to tell me then went on holiday soon after she moved house. The award had fallen behind my potting table and lay there for 18 months I found it about 8 weeks ago. You both work hard and deserve the award well done.
Gosh I so enjoy your episodes guys, your sewing skills are amazing. I find it very interesting to hear the stories about making your costumes. Today was another very interesting and entertaining episode, thanks you!
🙌🏼 Well done Arne & Carlos, so well deserved. You’re channel has been fun to watch during these trying times. Once I buy some yarn, I’ll be ready for those balls!!! I will have to sign up for your newsletters. Love your channel and how you both bounce off each other. The porridge-gate reveal was hilarious!! Thank you for putting yourselves out there and being authentic 🙏💜
Congratulations on your RUclips award. Already purchased the 2020 advent balls, looking forward to making them. Love your stories and look forward to your visits. Love everything about Norway. Have a good week. 🇨🇦Victoria, Vancouver Island.
I'm so happy to see you have attained 100,000 subscribers! Congrats!🥰 You two have become a beloved part of my life and it's like sitting down with family when you podcast. Wish I could give you both a big hug.
I could never, never get too tired of you!! Carlos, your family sounded so interesting. You must be proud. (And I just want to say, your waistcoat pockets are really impressive.) I am just an amateur sewer, but your stories make me think of my dad, who was a Saville Row tailor many years ago in the days of plus fours, and tail coats. Love you both.
Every week, you convince me that I'm a Norwegian! As a small child my mother couldn't keep me in clothes, but I always dressed my dolls impeccably! I also love deep winter. Arne & Carlos: both your vests are exquisite - the silvery-blue one is devine! Perhaps you'll use the scraps in your dollhouse?!? I'm really looking forward to seeing you both in your spectacular outfits.
I think one of the best descriptions of "designer" is problem solver. For me, the medium doesn't matter, and using the object is secondary, but solving the puzzle is the reward!
Congratulations on your RUclips Award ! Sit and knit tonight consist of English paper piecing thanks to Kate for passing that bug on to me! My fingers and wrists are in pain because my normal is knitting. Thanks for the podcasts. Love you both!
"Inspired, challenged and entertained" - yes perfectly worded letter from YT. Congratulations! I"m so glad to be part of your community. Here's to your next "land mine" hahahaha.... aka milestone :-) PS my Christmas ball compromise: I'm starting the gift balls now, but will knit along with you for my own.
Congratulations on your RUclips recognition, well deserved! The Prym yarn globes were intriguing... I immediately started thinking of a crystal ball and how it could predict your knitting future but then couldn't help laughing when Arne went down the path of suggesting they could be mini greenhouses to grow plants in. Multi-functional 😀
You guys are great ..just love the Knit and sit a bit episodes. By the way I was raised a country girl but when I got married and my own home..fabric napkins in the lap every meal. My friends and family have come accustomed to it in my house. Have a great evening.
Another wonderful show. Your vests are great- I’m enjoying hearing his you both construct them. Love hearing your family histories. I too grew up in a home with proper table manners being taught and expected. I still have some of my mothers linen napkins. I remember having to iron them as a young girl- not my most favorite task. I still use cloth napkins, but alas, I do not iron mine now. Carlos, I like your idea of using that stretchable measuring tool to check gauge - soo very funny. Can’t wait to see the start of the Christmas Ball knitting. I purchased the patterns this week and working on finding appropriate yarn. Thanks for brightening mind and so many Others Day
"I do believe there is a purpose with everything in life." WOW. What a wonderful line to end yet another great podcast. You seem to surpass yourselves in each podcast, both in content and in humour. Congratulations on reaching such an important milestone with RUclips!! Thanks for reading out the letter to us and sharing your joy with us. Love the progress on the bunad. Carlos, the floral design on your vest is beautiful! How you made the fabric of the pockets fit in with the rest of the design is just amazing. I'm in awe of the skills displayed in both tailouring and sewing....not to mention the knitting, of course (love the block too!). I so enjoyed the genealogy segments. It is a privilege to be able to see where you both come from. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Our local artisans make these. They call them yarn bowls. Some are made of pottery and some are lathe turned in exotic woods. They are beautiful. Love your show😍
My Aussie father used to walk through the house turning lights off saying, “you bloody kids, every light is on in the house, we’re lit up like a Christmas tree, they can see us from space.” 😂
My Italian immigrant father had a similar routine: "Did you turn the lights off behind you? What do you think, money grows on trees?" Or "Do you think we're Rockefellers?" He was also very attuned to the amount of time the fridge door was left open. "stop air conditioning the house, get what you need and close that fridge door!!" Omg I have millions of these cheap-Dadisms... I could go on for hours
I had solar panels and a 8kW battery installed on the roof last summer. Our power bill for the winter quarter used to be $1000+ because we use electricity for heating and light. In less than one year we have saved so much !
When we were adults and we’d visit and take a drink, he’d say, “leave your money on the fridge!” or, when we’d leave, he’d say to mum, “search them, make sure they haven’t taken anything!”. Every Christmas he’d always say to me, “do you need to borrow the wheelbarrow for Daddy’s present?”. He was a great father, he taught me what to expect in a good man, consequently I have a beautiful marriage of almost 40 years.
Congratulations You cheerfully help us to get through this awful time. I am sitting and cross stitching with Arne and Carlos and very much enoying your chats. Thank you as always
I’m knitting myself a cardigan with some Rowan felted tweed I’ve had in the cupboard for a couple of years. It’s looking good, felted tweed always knits up so well 👍 Congratulations to you both on your brilliant RUclips button 👍 😁 What a lovely letter 😁👍 💚🌷💜
I so love your channel. Every episode is a bright spot in my day. Your interactions with each other are fun. So much information. Really liking your journey with your folk costume. I learned to sew at a young age at my mother’s knee. My obsession with knitting has taken over a bit during COVID though. The genealogy section is fun to watch. Definitely agree that we pick up our ancestors skills. My maternal great grandmother came to the US from Eastern Europe to escape the Pogroms. Her husband came first and she followed with her five children, alone. She was a seamstress. She started making a living by mending and laundering. Her skill was passed on to her daughter. She made all of my mother and aunt’s clothing. Very tailored and smart looking in the 30s and 40s. My mother was an excellent seamstress. She made many of her own outfits but mostly made home decor. She was very much a perfectionist and loved making those very formal pleated drapes. My paternal grandmother was an amazing seamstress and knitter. She made a beautiful knit two piece dress/sweater combo after the St. John style which was quite the thing back in the day here in the US. My father learned to knit in boarding school during the war in the 30s. He knits to this day at 91. Both my sister and I sew, knit and enjoy many needle arts. She has a seamstress, tailoring business, after our great grandmother. She is amazingly skilled. I am a hobbyist and often have questions that she can almost always answer. My daughter is showing some interest in the needle arts but wants to learn on her own... so much frustration on her part. I thing, though, as she in an intuitive creative, she will be much better than I am. Thank you for all your amazing and entertaining content!!!
A lovely episode again! I really don't do anything during these "sit and knit for a bits" but just looking at you two, listening to your interesting conversation, learning new things from the stories you tell and enjoying myself in your lovely and warm company. And I love the new block, Old flower by the way. I am crocheting a small scarf for my 3-year old granddaughter at the moment, but when I am finished I would like to try and double knit a small blanket for her dolls in of course her favorite colours pink and purple. Thanks for the inspiration and stay well and healthy. God bless, Carola
You two are the best! ❤️❤️ I love your genealogy stories. That’s a beautiful painting, Carlos, and you’re fortunate to have that piece of your great-grandfather. My grandfather was more artistic as he got older, with wood working, stained glass, and sewing/needlework. I have some of his pieces and I cherish them. Thanks for another great episode and for making me smile today. 😁 hope you both have a great week!
What a delightful episode. You two are such a joy to have in my living room. Genealogy, knitting, crocheting, gardening, sewing - what other surprises do you have in your bags of tricks for us? Have a safe week and see you next week.
Felicitaciones por el reconocimiento de RUclips!!! Estoy estudiando inglés y les entiendo casi todo lo que dicen!!!! Gracias por la compañía q nos hacen y por el buen humor....
You guys are the perfect duo. I've only just found your channel via Kate's channel. I'm completely hooked (excuse the crochet pun). I love your genealogy tales. Arne's troll tale had me in stitches (pardon the knitting pun) as did the wonderful porridgegate video. Priceless. You remind me of me and my husband, I'm scatty and a bit of a hoarder and he is the patient organised one. I'm currently trying to tidy up my sewing room, an event that has been ongoing for literally years and I'm listening to you in the background and you're keeping me smiling while I work. Thank you to you and your team for all the hard work you put in to your fantastically entertaining content. Much love from Lancashire, UK xx
What a lovely recognition from You Tube. Congratulations on your milestone (aka “landmine”) Friends regardless how far from you are important to have. I feel like I would be welcome in your home anytime....except during a pandemic! Thank you for making me giggle or teaching me something new. Your podcast could be two hours as far as I am concerned. I am never bored.
OUTSTANDING!!! Congratulations on your award!!! You have made a very stressful time in my life to bring me happiness and tons of laughs. Along the way I learned about your culture/life, knitting, crocheting, Norwegian words and so much more!! THANK YOU so much for sharing your time and life with me and your RUclips followers! Here's wishing you both great health, happiness, and more viewers!!
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Am enjoying your genealogy chats, the word of the day and hearing about your folk costumes. You both have an amazing sense of humour and I do literally laugh out loud. Your never ending creativity has inspired me to join in knitting Christmas balls.
My grand mother kept her yarn off the floor by using a clean coffee can with a "yarn" whole in the plastic lid! That was more than 50 years ago but I remember it well. I
Congratulations to you both, what a wonderful acknowledgement to the, inspiration, enjoyment and entertainment you give to so many people, I, am 78 years old, live in Essex, England, I have lived in the same area all my life, and have always enjoyed needlework, knitting and crochet ,which my mother and Grandmother taught me! I do love the way you interact with each other, I Do a lot of laughter, as well as picking up knitting and crochet tips, You well deserve, your trophey,Bless you both Robbie x
My husband, 18 year old son and I watched the Porridgegate episode and laughed so hard then said it was better than anything on TV. I tell everyone about it. It's hilarious!
I can't tell you how much I look forward to your videos! I love everything about you guys! ❤️ The talent you both have is absolutely amazing! I am a crocheter, but seeing all the beautiful items y'all show is making me want to learn how to knit. Thank you guys for allowing us in your home every week! 🥰
Once again, another lovely podcast, full of chuckles and inspiration. Those waistcoats are gorgeous and I think this month’s knitted block is my favourite so far - an oldie but a goodie! I was truly impressed with your beautiful colour work knitting Arne, and Carlos, I find your genealogy storytelling so interesting. Oh and please make sure that you get the right hair cut at your family grooming session with your pets, so that you don’t end up with a classic poodle cut by mistake! Thank you for sharing guys and keep crafting your joy 🧵🧶
Hello! Congratulations on your 100 Thousand Subscribers recognition! Awesome! And, now you can see how much we enjoy your vids, dogma style or planned! The yarn keeper cases are awesome when you have pets that like getting into your yarn. Especially kitties. They look great, and I love that they are clear, so you can see at a glance what you have left in a skein. The vests are looking awesome! The blue brocade is as lovely as I thought it would be! They are both gorgeous. So happy to have the new Balls pattern now! Thank you! I have a little baby jacket and pants I am patterning myself to match a blanket, (Olympic Forest Baby Blanket on Ravelry) and then I can start in on the ball ornaments, and try to be done in time for this Christmas, and to knit some along with you in December 😄 ❄️☃️. I’m hoping we get some snow this year, so I can help the kids build snowmen. I’ve done bunnies, bears, and turtles too! Maybe you guys might have fun with a snowman building day for a laugh! Cheers! 🇨🇦. PS , I really enjoy your genealogy talks!
RUclips sent you a landmine..... damn. This world is getting harder by the minute. And I don't believe for a second that you two wander around inside without pants on 🔥 it's not that warm 😂
Congratulations on your 100,000 subscribers. Love your progress on your outfits. Love your podcasts. Can’t wait for all the exciting upcoming episodes. Thanks so much.
A yarnit isn’t just for keeping your yarn from rolling around on the floor it’s also meant to protect your yarn from pet hair/fur if you have pets and dust 😊.
Congratulations, Arne n Carlos, u r both fantastic , interesting podcast Everytime, inspiring, good sense of humour, educational bits of this n that... fabulous... love it, thank u very much , enjoy ur award, so proud of u both!
I love the silver napkin story. I told you, you were both gentlemen.😁👍 I was always taught good manners protect you from being awkward or embarrassed because you always know the correct thing to do in all circumstances.😁👍speaking from the UK I’m really looking forward to December with Arne and Carlos 😁😁😁 Sorry, talking too much today 😱😂😂

Congratulations on your RUclips award. Already purchased the 2020 advent balls, looking forward to making them. Love your stories and look forward to your visits. Love everything about Norway. Have a good week. 🇨🇦Victoria, Vancouver Island.
You as well!
I'm so happy to see you have attained 100,000 subscribers! Congrats!🥰
You two have become a beloved part of my life and it's like sitting down with family when you podcast.
Wish I could give you both a big hug.
We are glad to hear this!
2 middle aged men you say Carlos.. love your bantering back and forth. Its very Amusing.
Thank you!
Glad to see your wearing your big boy pants:) really enjoy watching podcasts while stitching...thanks for doing them.
Thank you for watching them!
Thank you!
That is a good idea.
Congratulations on achieving 100,000 subscribers and your silver plaque.
Thank you!
The more I learn and see about Norway, I want to become Norwegian and live in your country.
It is nice over here!
Another great video, can’t wait for next weeks.
Thank you Dottie!
I think one of the best descriptions of "designer" is problem solver. For me, the medium doesn't matter, and using the object is secondary, but solving the puzzle is the reward!
True!
@@ARNECARLOS I thought about the difference between craftsman, artist and designer. It's true they overlap but I'm a designer!
Loved this! So sweet ❤️. See you next week!🇨🇦👍😃
See you Sunday!
Congratulations on receiving your silver award!!!
Thank you!
Congratulations on your RUclips Award ! Sit and knit tonight consist of English paper piecing thanks to Kate for passing that bug on to me! My fingers and wrists are in pain because my normal is knitting. Thanks for the podcasts. Love you both!
Thank you!
Keep up the good work!
Congratulations, Arne and Carlos!
Thank you!
😀
Congratulations Arne and Carlos!! Susan wrote it well, you both are genuine and have a good sense of humor that impresses your audience the most!
Thank you!
Arne! You look so good with that beard! It really suits you! So fun to hear about your ancestors. 💐
Thank you!
You guys are great ..just love the Knit and sit a bit episodes. By the way I was raised a country girl but when I got married and my own home..fabric napkins in the lap every meal. My friends and family have come accustomed to it in my house. Have a great evening.
You as well!
Thanks for brightening mind and so many Others Day
You are welcome!
Love your show😍
Thank you!
Congratulations on your milestone!
Thank you!
Hahahaha 🤣 same in Uruguay where I grew up. Electricity was expensive.
I had solar panels and a 8kW battery installed on the roof last summer. Our power bill for the winter quarter used to be $1000+ because we use electricity for heating and light. In less than one year we have saved so much !
Keryn Rivett , you made me laugh , my mom was like that , I miss her now
When we were adults and we’d visit and take a drink, he’d say, “leave your money on the fridge!” or, when we’d leave, he’d say to mum, “search them, make sure they haven’t taken anything!”.
You are welcome!
I’m knitting myself a cardigan with some Rowan felted tweed I’ve had in the cupboard for a couple of years.
It’s looking good, felted tweed always knits up so well 👍
Congratulations to you both on your brilliant RUclips button 👍 😁
What a lovely letter 😁👍
💚🌷💜
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Congratulations, and thank you for your hard work.
Thank you!
You as well Carola!
Congratualtions on the Award! It is always fun "being" with you....knitting, sewing, ancestry, what more could we ask for?
Not really!
Thank you. Really enjoy listening to you both. Good time keeping ,only a little over 30 mins!!!👍
great!
Was just joking.... the timer said.. one hour six minutes !!! 😂😂Not complaining though , enjoyable content. Thanks.
You as well!
It is nice sitting in your circle and sharing in your lives. Thanks and congrats on your award!
Thank you!
Congratulations! Yall do a great job. My husband watches with me. He doesn't knit, but loves to watch.
Give him a ball of wool and some needles - put him to work!!
Say hi to your husband!
What a delightful episode. You two are such a joy to have in my living room. Genealogy, knitting, crocheting, gardening, sewing - what other surprises do you have in your bags of tricks for us? Have a safe week and see you next week.
You as well!
Felicitaciones por el reconocimiento de RUclips!!! Estoy estudiando inglés y les entiendo casi todo lo que dicen!!!! Gracias por la compañía q nos hacen y por el buen humor....
Thank you!
Welcome to our channel!
Fun listening to this today....especially, the genealogy segment...made me laugh-out-loud. Thanks!
You are welcome!
Great!
Prym! Love using the white Prym ergonomic needles--so light, and the tips are wonderful for color work -- such as a Christmas ball!
Great!
Thank you you too!
I love the waistcoats! Great job.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Am enjoying your genealogy chats, the word of the day and hearing about your folk costumes. You both have an amazing sense of humour and I do literally laugh out loud. Your never ending creativity has inspired me to join in knitting Christmas balls.
We hope you enjoy it!
My grand mother kept her yarn off the floor by using a clean coffee can with a "yarn" whole in the plastic lid! That was more than 50 years ago but I remember it well. I
Clever grandmother!
Thank you Robbie!
Just bought my Christmas balls, excited to get started knitting
Great!
Congrats!!! You guys are the best!
Thank you!
Arne: "I eat everything". I mean, do we need to talk about porridge again? :D
😂 😂
That was my thought exactly! 😂
It was my first thought...porridge!
My husband, 18 year old son and I watched the Porridgegate episode and laughed so hard then said it was better than anything on TV. I tell everyone about it. It's hilarious!
Funny.
I can't tell you how much I look forward to your videos! I love everything about you guys! ❤️ The talent you both have is absolutely amazing! I am a crocheter, but seeing all the beautiful items y'all show is making me want to learn how to knit. Thank you guys for allowing us in your home every week! 🥰
Thank you for joining us!
I'm not a fan of plastic, but I do use decorative bowls from my kitchen if I'm knitting with multiple balls or when I'm plying fiber.
You can try teapots too
Good idea!
Congratulations on your RUclips award! Thanks for bringing joy to so many!
You are welcome.
Beautiful vests and interesting facts and traditions. It's 'double breasted' when there are two rows of buttons on the front.
Thank you!
We will and thank you for your feedback!
I've made one of the new balls. I cou of only buy grey and claret colours 😕.
I am pleased with myself as I had your book since 2012
Thank you for supporting us!
Yes, it is a great way to keep the yarn away from the cats.
RUclips sent you a landmine..... damn. This world is getting harder by the minute. And I don't believe for a second that you two wander around inside without pants on 🔥 it's not that warm 😂
😂
Congratulations on your 100,000 subscribers. Love your progress on your outfits. Love your podcasts. Can’t wait for all the exciting upcoming episodes. Thanks so much.
You are welcome!
A yarnit isn’t just for keeping your yarn from rolling around on the floor it’s also meant to protect your yarn from pet hair/fur if you have pets and dust 😊.
Yes!
