Smart move to be cautious! My Nephew is with the Payson Hot Shots and they just flew out Saturday from Arizona to Alaska. He was assigned that fire! I think there are over 300 fires in Alaska currently. Prayers up! Yesterday was Wild land Firefighter appreciation day! A small small world! You're in good hands! ❤
OMGoodness. That would be so scary. And the anxiety of not knowing whether your property is safe. Best decision to stay away. To have friends like the Mitchells is a blessing indeed. Stay safe. 🇦🇺 fan.
Hello from Eastern Oregon we are very used to the wildfires in summer prayers are going up for Alaska that the fires will be under control soon and for the firefighters that are putting their lives on the line to fight it . Thank you Mitchell family for letting them use your cabin
So glad you chose the safe route, better to be safe than sorry. Maybe an idea....have a bag already packed for an emergency like this...love your homestead and being able to see what you have accomplished working together.
I’ve wondered about all the families I watch on you tube. I’m glad y’all are safe. Wildfires are just that and can be unpredictable. We’ve evacuated from one and lost everything we owned from another one that we were sure they’d get out before it reached us…..boy we’re we wrong! Another one this summer came within 1/4 mile from us. We frequently have 40-60 mph winds. Stay safe and enjoy your baby and home.
Glad you headed out, just in case. The bombers were flying over our place, filling up at Larson Lake. They did a great job attacking it right away! The rain in the 10 day forecast will hopefully knock it down the rest of the way.
Stay safe. Many fires happening right now. The Grapefruit Complex Fire off Elliot HWY is about 30 miles from my property. I just got the shell of my house built up there. Praying for more rain.
Good to play it safe. I'm in Southern Oregon and we get some crazy wild-fires now and then and they're nothing to fool with! With difficult terrain and no roads it can spread to 1,000(s) of acres in a short time with no easy end in sight. Even when it's in more populated, farm areas it can still take weeks for containment.
I’m glad you left early, always better to be safe . I live in Northern California. In the Sierra Nevada mountains. When they say leave just go, even if it’s not mandatory. I’ve lived here 3 years. Had to be evacuated once so far. But I use to live in Chico and we watched as Paradise, the town , burned to the ground.❤
If I lived in Alaska I’d make sure I live close to a creek and I would clear all the dead underbrush back at least 100yrds. Maybe keep a trash pump with a fire hose handy.
Fires are very bad. I live in California and we get fires all the time. It's never easy. Glad you had a friends cabin to go to. Glad you are all safe and sound! Love your channel. Thnaks for brining us along.......
Always scary when there's a fire near. The first we experienced on our homestead, a neighbor started and we were able to stop it about 200 feet from our door. It ate about 100 acres. The second one was maybe a mile away. We could see the glow from the fire at night
hey guys Happy 4th of July and I am so sorry there forest fire in area but this is why tell most people try clear as much dead wood and laying down wood from your area to keep you losing any thing because I know what it is like deal with fires
Wild fires are part of the off grid lifestyle we have been burned over once and had the second within half a mile... Volunteer at your local fire station form a local group within your community and build a fire rig that is also a snow plow for winter and get fire fighting experience...
Many of us, who live in your neighborhood and to Caswell, use HAM to stay informed. Especially helpful during the 2015 Sockeye fire evacuation. I’d recommend spending $25 for a Baofeng UV5r so you can monitor 154.295 MATCOM . Use it like a scanner. EMS/Fire is not encrypted in the Valley.
I’m glad they got the fire under control. It was grid seeing you guys and seeing the baby was awesome too. You guys are welcome anytime
Great people, pray god blesses you ❤

I did not know that I am married to a former wildland firefighter who fought fire for many years .
From watching Mitchell's in Alaska, Tony is good people.
I'm so glad you're safe. Taking precaution is far greater, that regrets.
Scary, be safe! So nice of Tony to offer his place! Much better than sleeping in your car. That precious baby is getting big!
The Mitchell's are such nice people. So happy your homestead and family is safe.

I am glad all is good for you guys! Wildfires sure are scary. That was nice of the Mitchell's to let you stay there 😊

Thankful you are wise enough to take precautions. Stay safe!

Good idea. I’m putting together a fire trailer with a IBC and a Honda pump that I can tow with my 4-wheeler.
Best to use caution. Great decision!!!

Thank you for the heads up. I can see lots of rain in the forecast.
Hope you are all safe and OK. 🤞
Three P's: Plan, Prepare, and Practice.
You definitely want to be smart with fires. Good job
So scary with ALL the work you two have done!!!

Yikes be safe!
Smart decision.
Stay safe, always best to be a bit prepared in advance of an evacuation.
Keep safe you guy's it a worry if it comes fast i would think that all the rain you get things would not burn but you never know
Stay safe!

Our friends at Sunny Hill Ranch has been posting videos from up there! It gets pretty scary!

Hope you guys at least have fire insurance living in such a
dry tender area? Good call on leaving Cody.
