You are right about the worm gear setup. It's made specifically to not require a esc to have drag brake. The first losi comp crawlers used it with great success.
I do recommend greasing up the diffs with some wheel bearing grease out of the box and loosen the wheel nuts 1/8 of a turn, mine were too tight out of the box and would make the tires bind up

I know your video was from 3 years ago...some "in the box" have changed: 4:02 my Tx [has lights, sliders & buttons, no dials, (HRZ00014)] is very different from what you have. 6:31 my "2-n-1 ESC/Rx 2S LiPo BEC 6V/1A" ESC (HRZ00015) has a blue sticker w/ch names. Motor (M+/M-) & batt (+/-). Same size w/a ferrite core on it. 7:03 Batt same model#, different sticker, it is 3C charge rate now. Charger model# DYNC1063 and looks different. 9:16 same motor. 9:48 Same servo. 10:31 I love velcro, I velcro all clip bodies if I can. SCX24 Jeep ESC touches the hood just slightly enough to put a sliver of velcro on ESC, so I did.

I almost bought one of these a week or so ago. I went in today to pick up an airplane part and couldn't resist the SCX24. I love this little truck. It is a fun indoor rig. Want even more fun? Add an FPV camera.
The small scale and micro stuff is fun because they are easy to pack with you to work. I have a Losi Mini T from the first release and kept it in a tool box draw at a shop I used to work at. Lunch time entertainment.
DSC X24 is by far the best micro crawler. But the trick like with any micro color is getting it to have a scale driving look rather than having it look like a matchbox car rolling down a cement sidewalk. But the new yellow Jeep body is pretty sweet
I loved my losi crawler but it was ugly so I had to use a model kit with a 1980 chevy square body and it looked amazing but was super dang top heavy. I am totally getting the c10 version as I sold my losi a while back. The lighter body and wheel weights I think is amazing.

First! I got the deadbolt and love it! You need to get the Mil Stone Max weight kit for the wheels off ebay. Best upgrade period for this truck. BTW if you use that charger it will NOT stop charging completely it will continue to trickle charge even when the battery has fully charged.

I've seen a video of the SCX24 , and it had excellent acceleration over the Banggood car which looked like it was more tolerable for younger people, But I would buy the SCX24 for sure .
that f150 looks good! would you try and see if that body fits the scx24? i know the wheel base for scx24 is about 7mm longer, but it could somehow work out right?
CCxRC I just placed an order directly from carisma, the 8.99 body doesn’t come with decal and the roll bar, if u like those, make sure add it to ur cart, total damage after standard shipping is about $20 So the scx24 longer wheel base isn’t an issue right?
Great video I'm gotta. Pick 1 of these up to go with my mini deadbolt. Quick thing worm gears are not new losi used them long before the Scx24! 🤣 Also tip lvc has a glitch so do not use the medium or low or the lvc will not kick on it time and over drain the lipo. It's happened on mine and lots of others! Also you should mention the charger is not reliable it does not ballace the battery well and the micro usb port breaks very easy. Otherwise the scx24 is the best micro crawler on tje market!
Hey I was told today something is different in the jeep vs the deadbolt body, like the battery sits lower or something, can anyone verify a difference thanks?
There are several changes. The rails are different. The rear links on the Deadbolt are longer. So the transmission plate sit further forward in the Deadbolt. The ESC sits lower in the deep to fit under the hood and the battery sits further forward, but doesn't appear lower.
For my son's axial scx 24, the battery charger broke the first day. We bought a new battery charger. After a week the engine stops responding. We paid 140 euros here in Italy. I think the mechanics is good but everything else is of poor quality.
The ecx is poo poo compaired to the axial scx24. I put a set of rc4wd rims and tires on mine it performs way better now even tho box stock ain’t bad at all

Yes. It cant roll with a worm gear. So when you let off the throttle it will stop and stay.
