I find myself hearing these things and immediately having to pause because I am overcome with tears and a sense of awe and worship. Thank you for what you do, Jonathan.

Of everyone I’ve listened to the Peterson’s talk to, I find this man the most compelling, complex and genuine. This video was a true gold nugget for me as well because as much as I enjoy listening to Dr. Peterson and with all my respect for his abilities, I love to get a glimpse of what is behind the man and when I listen to and watch Tammy, I realize I’m seeing a great pillar of strength that Jordan depends upon. That’s so beautiful to me.

People who say “my cancer” tend to die at higher rates than those who say “the cancer.” When your suffering becomes your identity, you must experience a spiritual death in order to receive your healing.

It is obvious to see Jonathan's respect and reverence for Jordan through his countenance toward Tammy. This shows me true Ai is impossible.

I was really struggling to understand how death relates to glory until about ten minutes in, but then an analogy really helped connect it for me:
The tiger that’s locked up in a cage is effectively embodied by that cage. It has no way of impacting the outside world- the cage is its universe. However, if someone opens the cage, the cage has “died,” and the tiger is free to impact the broader world uninhibited by imprisonment. The glory of the tiger is freed by the death of its embodiment.
Maybe a more beautiful version of that is the damsel in distress who’s locked up in a tower- only by an outside force (the prince) putting her tower to death is she able to impact the kingdom with her beauty. The glory of the princess is freed by the death of her tower.
This also helped me to better conceptualize the Resurrection by connecting it to the life of the righteous Job. In Job’s humility and acceptance of suffering, he becomes totally “disembodied,” embracing a type of death. In this, his virtue (glory) is allowed to shine forth, refuting the accusations of the Enemy at the beginning and effectively extending his body into divinity: by accepting death for the sake of God and losing his own finite body, he embodies God, giving him the ultimate body, which is revealed at the end of the story when all of the world is recapitulated to Job, including his friends for whom He interestingly offers sacrifice to redeem. By his death, Job recapitulates his world through his divine virtue; by Christ’s death, He recapitulates the universe. Job no longer serves to embody the world, but the world at the end of the story embodies him; so it is with Christ.
I’m pretty sure this has something to do with Christ’s prayer in Gesthemene- it reveals this very truth.
Logos must not be bound to the cage- the cage must be bound by Logos.

The cross as the pattern of patterns, the pattern of all reality embedded in its most fundamental form gives so much meaning to the sign of the cross.
Every time we sign the cross we are embodying the pattern of reality.

I had never heard of the blood and water flowing from Christ's side said to be the birth of the church and the same as Eve taken from Adam's side. Thanks.
Jesus as serpent being fixed to the tree of life was also new to me. I'd love to hear all this again and elaborated further if possible.

God isn’t just the Cosmic Egg cracking and breaking open. He, itself, is the Cracking and Breaking Open of the Cosmic Egg! God doesn’t just open up. He is the Opening Up! Like a flower forever blooming, as if it was never closed - a beginning-less and endless ever-exposing of oneself. Christ is KENOSIS!

I almost see the water and blood being the life and death. The birth of the church as water, and the death of the old way.

Question on the water and blood flowing from Christ's side. Do these images traditionally have anything to do with baptism (water) and communion (blood) becoming the staple rituals of the New Testament church?

I cannot listen to this man talking to Tammy Peterson. This is not a discussion with her but an incomprehensible monologue from Jonathan. Tammy, if given the chance, has profound insights but she wasn't allowed to say more than 30 words.

Every Easter I struggle with, what appears to me, a contradiction in symbolic meaning: I see the sun as the giver of life; a path that is given for life - the equator; the extremes of suffering/death, not left nor right but north and south. I see the 24hr cycle as eternal life; the chance to be reborn each morning; the reality of darkness without light each night; how the earth's axis tilt, to me, correlates with the image of the cross; the image of Yin/Yang.
My apologies for the digression here, but I would very much enjoy to have Jonathan set me straight, so to speak, with this conflicting image of mine: the vertical portrayal of a beginning and a end vs. how the world we live in turns round and round.

    • @Thomasfboyle
      @Thomasfboyle 2 года назад +5

      Death is unidirectional.
At least it was until all things were made new when the Author of life was killed, then death becomes part of a cycle and not just a final state of nonexistence.

How to name why Jonathan is having trouble finding words to describe the "2 things happening at the same time" --> Non-duality.
It's how the World actually is, but we use duality to describe it the best we can, day-to-day.
Hindu & Buddhist wisdom was able to present to me how to conceptualize that more easily.
All culminates & flows from the Highest. The squabble we see seems to be only here because of our own making

    Note:
The ladder is a place where heaven and earth meets
Embracing the death is free yourself from the death you are not going to be the slave of the death anymore
Jesus is like the snake on the moses's staff. The staff has a healing factors.
Giving yourself to others where you are going to get something bak in the truer forms.
I like jordan books 12 rules for life because it bridges the abstract to the practical.
