    I’ve learned that the most important thing is to just let them burn longer before blowing it out. If you only want to light a candle for a little bit then use a tea candle or something narrower

    • @VintageHipDecor
      @VintageHipDecor  Год назад +3

      Exactly! You have to be ready to commit to burning bigger candles for a couple of hours.

    Great tips. This whole time I’ve been cutting 1/4 inch off the top of the wick. 🤦‍♂️ It’s actually suppose to be cut to that length. 1/4 inch seem too short but I guess it works. Makes sense because a lot my candles would soot.

      @@VintageHipDecor, ok so 1/8th inch before burning is too little. So I need more heat.
      Also like that I can cut off the “ mushroom “ and relit!!

    I hate blowing out candles because after that all I can smell is that smoke smell and it totally overpowers the candle's smell. I always trim my wicks before I light my candles, so it's not like my wicks are extra long with big flames (which also drives me crazy). I know I have a more heightened sense of smell than most of my close friends and family, but does anyone else feel the same about the smoke smell as me or am I just crazy? I have to snuff mine with a lid so the smoke doesn't come out.

      Also can't light my candles with normal matches because that smell is so strong and lingers when I just wanna smell my candle dang it. I have to use a lighter.

      Can't say it bothers me that much, but yes its best to snuff candles if you can.

    Ok so I made a mistake and I lit my candle up for the first time, for only ONE minute. Now it has a small ring around the wick. Is my canle ruined now?

      Use the foil trick, but burning it for for 1 minute doesn't seem like it will cause significant issues.

    • @VintageHipDecor
      @VintageHipDecor  6 месяцев назад

      That might, unfortunately, be a poorly made candle. Sometimes the wick isn't powerful enough for the type of was or size of the candle.

    Also what brand of candles extinguish cigarette smoke? Or will any candle work? I like Yankee candles but are there any others that smell up a large area just as well?
    Thank you

    • @VintageHipDecor
      @VintageHipDecor  Год назад +1

      I think an air purifier would work much better to eliminate the smell of cigarette smoke since it cleans the air. We have these two in our home and they both can sense the quality of the air: amzn.to/3Ou7dWW amzn.to/3OuVgAe
      But as for candles that smell great while you're burning them, we really like this brand that you can find at Home Goods too: amzn.to/3ET7kZ0
