Finally some recognition for Aminata. Her voice should be heard by everyone and her artistry should be appreciated more. She should have been top 3 that year.
It really piss me how UNDERRATED is Latvia, they always send quality Indie/Alternative entries and get ignored most of the times (Aija deserved a spot in the final 😭😭)
I am pretty sure that Sudden Lights were one of the victims of the absence of the juries. With the juries in the semifinals too, they would have qualified
Glad you enjoyed it! tbf I knew you will, which is why I suggested it. If you didn't know this was from Latvia, you probably would think it was from a much bigger and wealthier country - that's how powerful and polished this performance was. Latvia's Eurovision budget is one of the smallest and yet we somehow managed to pull a performance any big country would be proud of. I hope this will encourage people to suggest more songs from less popular/underrated countries. At the end of the day Eurovision isn't just Sweden, Ukraine or Finland... each country deserves recognition. Obviously this isn't the only worthy performance we've sent, but I'm glad people at least gave this one a chance. :) P.S. My username is not Latvian. I chose it, because in early 2000's one of my favorite football players was a Ukrainian goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovskyi. P.S.S. Speaking of ferries - there's a ferry from Rīga to Stockholm (takes about 14-15h to get from A to B).
Oh yes! So elegant and mesmerizing, so classy! This was one of my favourites in 2015, I think I even voted for this in the final. 2015 was a really good year in Eurovision.
So glad you did this one. 2015 had so many great songs, a lot are still in my high rotation today. Staging excellence, performance even more so. Great suggestion. My eyes still sting with tears when she hits the chorus.
Aminata's LIVE vocal production is one of the best in Eurovision history. The way the filter on the mic changes when the chorus starts and also making the backing vocals sound like they're way way in the back, just a perfect sound mix. (Belgium that year had a similar production and sound mix for the backing vocals sounding like they're far away). Also mind you: this was when ALL vocals still had to be 100 % live.
I love her voice, she sings better live than in the studio, I love this song (I still listen to it after 9 years) and I also love her song for Eurovision 2022.
I fell in love with this and it is still one of my fave Eurovision entries ever. I love especially the moment when she sings the title and stabs her stomach with both hands. And then we go again with the chorus! ❤️
Aminata truly is talent! Latvia is a nation known for its love of song, and you should definitely react to Latvia's National Song Festival, a grand event held every five years where people come together to celebrate and honor Latvian traditions. My favourite this one ruclips.net/video/0Zk1nuBQs7g/видео.html
Think of Rig and Apple when you ever think of Riga :) By the way almost everyone in Latvia is white . Aminata is local celebrity, she is half Latvian, her mother is Latvian. Latvia is a strange place , still heavily impacted by soviet history which occupied it for 50 years. It is a strange culture. Where western values clash with soviet ignorance. Beautiful nature, physically attractive people, beautiful architecture, unique language only similar to Lithuanian, Latvia - o ne of the leaders in Europe in emigration, homicide rate, suicide rate, alcoholism, homophobia, aggressive driving, corruption and of the poorest countries in EU.

YES! This piece still gives me the chills!
Yes! This is the best song we've ever sent to Eurovision in my Latvian opinion. 🇱🇻
Agreed, in my not-Latvian-at-all opinion: it’s in the all-time Eurovision top 10 for me. Amazing song.
Amazing voice, amazing performance, amazing song. It really does reach the soul. FYI, she came 6th.
2015 was a very good year for Eurovision! Latvia, Estonia, Norway, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Georgia. So many just really good songs and performances.
Still getting goosebumps at the end. Already a classic. This was a great Eurovision year.
It really piss me how UNDERRATED is Latvia, they always send quality Indie/Alternative entries and get ignored most of the times (Aija deserved a spot in the final 😭😭)
Pls we don't talk about Aijā because it still hurts how underrated this masterpiece was😭

Can't say underrated! They got victory 2002 with one the of worst songs, just dress trick show. This is however their best.

totally forgot to mention - Aminata wrote this song by herself, just like Baby Lasagna wrote "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" by himself...
One of my favourite Eurovision entries EVER.

Finally a video for Aminata!!!! I love her song, her voice and that staging was beautiful

The way you pronounced Riga x) It's not Ray-ga, it's Ree-ga ;)
Came here to say this!
Second place with the jury was soooo deserved
I love her voice, she sings better live than in the studio, I love this song (I still listen to it after 9 years) and I also love her song for Eurovision 2022.
Justs - Heartbeat Latvia 2016
What a good suggestion, one of my favourites
She deserved to win that year. She was MAJESTIC.
This was soooo much better than the winner that year. Belgium was also great.
I fell in love with this and it is still one of my fave Eurovision entries ever. I love especially the moment when she sings the title and stabs her stomach with both hands. And then we go again with the chorus! ❤️
She is an icon in Latvia. She makes almost all songs for the Latvia's participants
Yes! My country finally! 💜 Thanks for react! (p.s. check Riga's pronunciation)
