less of a twist than the average Doctor Who episode with "Dalek" in the title
The first time I read it as Jane's Car instead so I was surprised
We need a loading bar animation for her to realize that each of the hatchetfield stories are happening in separate dimensions/realities so when people die they can come back
I'd like to think that Jane was a genuinely good woman when she was still alive but the spell and being a ghost corrupted her soul to turn her into this
The good news is that, as we have learned, death doesn't always mean dead forever when talking about Hatchetfield. Timelines make the impossible possible, so it is never finite. Keep that in mind. 😉 Also, can't wait for the final episode and Nightmare Time 2. Just when you thought things couldn't be weirder . . .
Yeah nightmare time 1 has recurring leitmotifs and songs from Black Friday and TGWDLM all over. Even “Jane’s Pop Song” is Tied Up My Heart from TGWDLM.
Matt Dahan does amazing work transistioning from original songs to known Hatchetfield songs as the scene calls for it
If you like the woman who plays Becky Barnes, I highly suggest watching
“Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story” (by Shipwrecked)! It’s so good! Last episode comes out on Halloween, and they put SO MUCH work into it! There are songs, but I wouldn’t call it a musical.

If it makes you feel any better, this probabky isn't how Jane was in life! This spell came from the black book, which is a book filled with only bad spells and prob corrupted her soul. Can't wait to see ur reaction to with in the web, it's up there with time bastard for me for nmt s1, it's rlly good, and introduces one of my favorite characters!

I like Becky Barnes as a character but my favorite character this actor portrays is Miss Holloway. You'll find her in The Witch in the Web and Killer Track. She is also briefly in Daddy.

the actor for tim is kendall nicole and she actually played hannah foster from black friday !!! shes especially amazing in the next ep "witch in the web" and i cant wait to see your reaction for it :)!!!!!! its absolutely INSANE and includes one of my favorite characters and songs during the end credits :]

That one is so good, amazing writing, atmosphere and acting.
Just FYI I'm fairly sure that Robert isn't in The Witch in the Web and I'm certain that he isn't in any of Nightmare Time 2. So if he was putting you off doing NMT reactions, it won't be an issue going forward.

@Barbara 2.0 So the car love scene, in the live version, was substantially longer and bordered on Softcore Porn. It's a pity they cut it as the dedication that both Dylan and Jaimie put into that scene was unreal. And it's not like there were really any visuals, this being a Zoom Call Read and all. What you just saw is about as naked as Dylan got. To be honest, the scene was more funny than "porn-y." Oh well.
The best thing is that these are other versions of Hatchetfield so it doesn't mean that what happens here is cannon to that universe

34:10 - 34:21 That's a callback to "The Hatchetfield Ape-Man." In that story, there's a part where Professor Hidgens is chasing Lucy Stockworth (the woman he and Ted were trying to scam out of her money earlier) and she climbs a tree to get away from him. Hidgens then says something like "oh, you're gonna climb a tree now, are ya? Who do you think you are; Becky Barnes?" Then he talks about how Becky once climbed a tree and stayed there for two days.
We still don't know for sure why she did that (running from her abusive husband, maybe?), and we have no idea what happened as a result of her doing it. Presumably, the writers want us to wonder and speculate about what happened the last time Becky climbed a tree and why she did it until they finally reveal the answers in a future "Nightmare Time" episode or "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" (that's the already announced title of the next Hatchetfield play) or some other future Hatchetfield production.
34:53 - 34:56 If it makes you feel any better, the next one ("The Witch In The Web") has a happy ending. It helps clarify the timeline, too (38:01 - 38:04).

omg you should absolutely react to season 2! the stories are so great, production is incredible, and the episodes are so memorable (with a couple new cast members too!!)

This will never not be at least a lil bit funny to me bc Jane's plan makes no sense lmao. Running over Becky was going to get Tom in jail regardless, so now she's lost Tom. At least she Tim tho right? Wrong. She's Becky Barnes, Tom's girlfriend. She has no legal right to tim, he'd probably got Emma, his aunt. I uh her plan failed on both fronts lmao
Clearly, Jane isn't perceptive or insightful or thinking very clearly at any point in the episode. It seems to honestly not occur to her that Tom will be uncomfortable with murdering the Greenpeace Girl.
She’s a ghost possessing a body, and didn’t see anything wrong with just _taking_ a body. Don’t think she has any regard for remaining a law-abiding citizen just because she now has a body. Thankfully (hopefully?), she no longer has access to the tape recording, so no more body-jumping for her. Just… being a regular identity theif.
I highly recommend parade. There is a great concert version on RUclips with Jeremy Jordan as the main character and it has subtitles.
Speaking of Jeremy I also recommend the Bonnie and Clyde musical soundtrack.

Becky may be back. Several characters have died and come back. Both Paul and Emma died twice, right? Do you think they are gone forever?
Not sure where they are going with it though. Maybe just parallel timelines, or different outcomes depending on something earlier, or whatever strange reason they are thinking up. There's no lack of fantasy and imagination when it comes to the scripts.
I was re-watching the whole Hatchetfield saga so far when I found your channel, so now when I've seen everything here I'm just waiting for you to catch up. I saw Perky's Buds & Abstinence Camp just before I found you, so I stopped and am looking forward to your reactions.
It's just going to get wilder, weirder and better going forward. :D

This episode of Nightmare Time was absolutely ridiculous, but I kinda like it for that very reason lol. Still my least favorite of the bunch, but that just goes to show how good Nightmare Time is.
