  • At P1.3 million pesos, there are a lot of choices for a family car in the Philippines. But if you're going for the most space at the price point, there's no doubt the Toyota Innova comes to mind. However, is it still the best in value or can someone like the Chery Tiggo 8 push it out of its throne?

Actually ang advantage kasi nung flip-up 3rd row ng Innova (even Fortuner) is better thigh support. And it really fits 3 adults. Our older Innova can seat 3 adults sa third row with no major issues even for long drives and that's with smaller dimensions sa newer innova.
Difference din if you try to fit 5 or more adults inside. Benefits ng mga less-stressed diesel engines ay it would take heavier loads without that much additional effort. Tried and tested na samin even with the weaker 2KD 2.5L diesel loaded with 9 persons on-board with luggage pa. Smaller displacement turbocharged engines aren't really designed to carry load regularly. Kaya it seems fine is because journalists doesn't really test it on an "ownership-basis" test. Usually they load it it 3 to 5 people on board with light luggage to boot.
Digital instrument clusters doesn't really give huge advantage over analog gauges when it provides basically the same information. Kinagandahan pa ng analog is, it will most likely survive far longer than digital display. Soft touch plastics and leather may also provide better luxury, but urethane and hard plastics also maintain durability. 10-15 year old urethane and hard plastics wouldn't really age compared to leather and soft touch materials so it really depends on how long you intend to keep your vehicle.
If you're the type of person that wants to keep your vehicle around 10-15 years or more - better choice is the Innova. Pero if you intend to keep switching vehicles, Tiggo seems a good deal. Luxury features kasi like leather, advanced head unit, cameras, it's easy to add-on eventually. But you can't just change your vehicle dimensions, engine, and transmission when it becomes inadequate.

@@maneseethangilt.2119 best? says who? MUX owners? Cmon man. Your foot on either side in the 3rd row of MUX is tilted sideways. It's not comfortable. Knee room wise, yes, it's good. But man, their toe room is one of, if not the worst there is. And you can only seat two.
Oh, and btw, the only way it looks flat is because they have raised cargo floor. So you're basically lifting too high just too load your baggage.

Good comparo! Competition will only serve to benefit the consumers in the long run because of the features trickling down price points people should not stereotype and should be open to new options. As for the old players you guys need to step up your production and interior design to match the needs of the consumers. As for the new competition goodjob and goodluck on the reliability of the cars that you are producing!

Sa Toyota Innova pa rin ako. We have a 2022 Innova and previously owned two other Innovas and they lasted for so many years. Plus we still have until now a 2003 Diesel Revo that is still in very good running condition with fuel efficiency of 8.5 km per liter city driving. Toyota is so dependable. We had 2 Mitsubishi L300, a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up, Mazda MPV, Nissan Xtrail, Isuzu Crosswind, Starex, and Honda Civic, Isuzu FB Diesel with passenger Cab, plus Ford Courier Pick-up. Just for comparison on dependability, all our Toyotas lasted long and with very low maintenance cost. I would be happy to see more cars and brands coming into the marker so it will benefit the consumers. Experience tells me that I can count on the quality and reliability of Toyota. However, a strong competition is good to keep Toyota on its toes and not be complacent.

Rear wheel drive vs front wheel 1.5 engine vs 2.8.if you remap the ecu innova will reach 200 hp. If I am not mistaken, the engine that comes with the Toyota Innova is the same as the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux, albeit with few minor tweaks and slightly different ECU mapping. That engine is tried tested and true. Toyota's reliability will trump that Chinese engine's 10-year warranty. I think they should have factored that in.

Especially in the case of diesel engines na pag hindi mo naalagaan, arms and legs na ang aabutin babayaran mo just to have it fixed. In this day and age ride comfort, features and value for money na ang labanan since ang reliability is really subjective. I currently own a toyota but I have to give my vote for the tiggo 8 since ride comfort and features ang hanap ko for a modern suv

Toyota knows people will still buy their vehicles despite being so behind on tech and comfort na parang halos nanguuto na sila ng tao. Yung Innova sa ibang bansa, mas madaming tech and features for practically the same price. "Reliability" and availability ng pyesa sa Banawe nalang talaga naiiwan na advantage ng Toyota dito.

Innova namin 1month palang may rattle na. Hehehe “reliability”. Buti nlng na benta na namin. Syempre secret lng kay buyer yung rattle tsaka sira2. 😉.
