    Probably the 2 best SUV/MPV from the chinese brands. A lot will still go for the Innova, but if you care more for a great looking SUV/MPV, cabin comfort and space then the tiggo 8 pro and the okavango beats the Innova by a lot

    in addition to this, Chery's aftersales support are way faster and better compared to Geely. Geely's parts lalo na if PMS sometimes wala pang oil filter. Some parts waiting time inaabot pa ng 3-6 months, while chery can completely fix it within weeks. (based on my experiences)

      Okavango has 90,000 discount but at 1,725,000 = 1,635,000, the chery tiggo 8 pro is 15,000 pesos more affordable at 1,670,000 less 50,000 discount = 1,620,000. We were looking at the Geely Okavango Urban. It is mainly for the size and seating capacity. We dont use Apple products so the tiggo having that feature isnt a factor for us. I am not too happy with the price increase but compared to how much it would cost us to ship a full size SUV from the states, it is still a decent price.

      @TheAloofKid 2 года назад +1

      what do you mean established? Their brand is new to PH, you can’t find a geely car that is even 5+ years old. The reason it is in top 10 because of the price and tech features. Now that some buyers are experiencing regrets in buying a geely due to parts availability that takes minimum of 6months to arrive. Also with the price increase you’ll definitely consider buying Japanese brand.
      They increased their price way too soon without addressing after sales mayhem. Let’s see their sales report in 2022-2023.

    • @arthurgadz646
      @arthurgadz646 2 года назад +12

      @@TheAloofKid I wont argue about Geely being established..Established or not, they are growing fast, with dealerships being built all over Ph.. Well the issue of parts availability maybe caused by several factors, one being in pandemic, everything was slow specially cargos. We'll see as port operations slowly returning to normal.. And for the sales, they're in top 10 with only 3 models, with the addition of Emgrand which is perfect for pinoy budget, and maybe another model coming, they could continue to climb..
      Look I'm always ecstatic to see cars like these coming to our market, let them battle when it comes to quality.. the better the quality,,the better for us buyers right? so wether a Korean car, Chinese car, or a Japanese car or American car comes out as the best when it comes to quality and service, then let us support them for giving that kind of service and just set politics aside..

    I saw a debate where one argues that Filipinos go for Innova because they are brand-conscious.
    It does beat the Innova in most places but it's not about Filipinos being brand conscious but rather the customer's ability to pay for repairs. More tech means more repairs which also means more payment(I'm not saying that it will break easily but we all know it will break someday). Modern car brands (even Toyota) sport this modern tech now even in the Philippines, hence customers go for the Innova simply because the parts it uses are already familiar and add to it the Engine that is known for its reliability (easy term: the Innova is simple but functional). The time will come when Innova will sport this modern tech too and it will be pretty much goodbye to this old style.
    the trait of being simple but functional was owned by the AUVs back then but they got too old and got replaced by MPV which is good and bad since you can't convert compact MPV into public transport now as the AUVs did back then (also add the rise of Vans and minibusses).

    The oka got a 12+ inch center screen together with the price increase.
    I'm about to get my oka within the week, very excited.
    You made a great video and good comparison. But usability wasn't deep enough for me. (Middle row 33/33/33 and movable for more space in 3rd row, as well as fully down foldable for even more space, 3rd aircon zone is very useful in my opinion)
    The one point I really worry about is the driving assist features in the Philippines. I'm used to all of them on european streets. Very useful but still buggy sometimes. While there you won't have motorcycles passing from all sides especially during traffic. I can imagine the traffic assistant would be very dangerous to use if not on expressway. Especially because a full brake because of a motorcycle passing in front (will happen because assistant leave much space) will make kids fly to the front as the seatbelts are not really a thing here..
    Also the adaptive cruise control would have the same effect on passing motorcycles or cars entering the big space which the assist leaves and will make it brake hard even on expressways.
    I'm very worried about drivers not paying attention and accidents will happen because the traffic and pedestrians around are unpredictable.
    The driving assis features can be stressful in europe, and certainly would, in my opinion, ruin the driving experience in the Philippines. Adaptive cruise control was already raising my stress levels in Switzerland, in the Philippines i cannot imagine anyone would be able to relax while using it. For the Philippines, I prefer the regular cruise control.
    However of course I don't appreciate missing collision warning and autobrake in any car. I guess I'll add a smart dashcam to have at least acoustic warning.

      @Gamer Hubby TV Discriminate is not the word that I would use. Most of us who will buy vehicle would choose Japanese or American brands. It’s the brand name that is been implanted in our minds for decades. iPhone are assembled in china(cheap labour)but all the parts are outsource from different countries. And remember I did say the interior and tech of that car is good (base on the video) haven’t seen it in person. But the brand and Chery seems like a Cherry mobile phone

      @Gamer Hubby TV it’s true that Filipinos brand conscious. I hope other brands would improve their interior and tech as what the Chinese car brands. I’m eying on the Mazda since the feeling getting into the car (interior) is above the usual Toyota, Nissan etc..
