Goering knew his sentence was a foregone conclusion so thought he might as well have a bit of fun.

@@euan7166 Indeed. But his testimony demonstrated knowledgeability. Can't allow someone like that to live, if you want to establish belief in a Lie.

I was 6 feet from him as he walked past the guard tower that had a door where you were at parade rest....he walked with von Shirach and Hess walked alone. This was in Berlin-Lichtefelde (McNair Barracks) in 1961.

The Facts are, that the human race in its entirety is hypocritical, A great many societies have commited crimes or injustices against each other, from the Romans, Mayans, Incas, Egyptians, in modern times the Americans, the Turkish, the British, French, Israel and Germany, Albert Speer was a great architect caught up in strange times and offered a job that most people would have taken at the time. (let he without sin cast the first stone).

Car1234oppinions no other Western ideology or regime model has theorised systematic killing on such a great and sophisticated scale. Deal with it.

Have you ever thought of the fact that it may not exist a single one without a sin, but there are an enormous variation/spectra of sins. There are pity ones and there are huge-huge ones. Albert Speer´s sin was a very huge one and the ones that cast stones on him have hopefully not committed sins of that size.
So the Hebrew- christian proverb is not worth enough!

Who is worse? People like him or people like the guys who were involved in nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki? He was in the wrong team. That's what makes him a criminal.
So many people hate him, although he didn't kill anyone.

Statements like this are why we need to go back to teaching history in school, instead of political correctness. Speer was an architect and Minister of Armaments. In each role, he used slave labor, most of whom were worked and/or starved to death. So yes, he very much WAS responsible for the deaths of thousands. Furthermore, he supported a political system with the avowed purpose of killing all Jews, Slavs, Gypsies, mental defectives, and non-Germanic people. They were well on their way to doing that when they were defeated. Blood is all over his hands. As for the Japanese, they had shown, both in word and deed, that they would not end the war THEY STARTED without a fight to the death on their home islands. The death toll on both Japanese people and Allied troops would have been staggering. The nuclear bombs did kill many Japanese, but that was still far less than would have died had we assaulted their homeland to finish their war. Ever heard of Comfort Women, the Rape of Nanking, Marco Polo Bridge? I doubt it. You cannot judge decisions made in the past while using today's norms.

@@rkelsey3341 I think both of them should removed from earth. I mean both the Nazis and the american imperialists, who had nothing to do in Asia at all.
Today China is our hope, to help the americans stay in their own continent.
