I wanted to watch this video because I just started to play the double bass in orchestra. 😅😅 it might take me a VERY long time till I can even try playing these, but I really liked the video.
listening to normal melodies on the double bass is like listening to a very soft song on a huge speaker. The sound produced by the large scale of the instrument has lot more depth and warmth. And I love it.
These students are unbelievable. They're very fortunate to have your instruction, Mr. Paradzik! I'm surprised many of them are shy of the camera. With such great playing, what's there to hide? Oh well haha

+DityaSangGita oh sorrry, I didn't notice there are a number of bassists performing here. but they're playing so well. and i'm still curious about whether they use solo tuning. thanks
Hello and I apologise for not seeing this question for so long time. All those pieces are published only for solo tuning, so there is unfortunately no option to play them with orchestra tuning. I am myself not a big fan of "solo tuning", because it doesn't do what it claims... but regarding all those pieces attached to Simandl's method that's the way it is
@@bozoparadzikcom thanks for finally replying. I almost forgot what I asked, but now I see your choice of using original tuning. I play cello btw, and always admire double bassists who play solos with just original tuning. I really appreciate the originality, and I think (simpleton like me) I enjoy this very much. Much or less I learn how bassists shift in huge intervals (I still find shifting is hard on the cello). It is not merely audience experience watching all the performance here (I went back to this video many times!), it is more like a masterclass performance in which I do learn something. Thanks again for sharing 🙏💙
Bonjour de Montréal, it would be nice to have the names of the students. Some of them are very good. Also, would you know if a recording of Geissel Konzertstück op. 24 exists on CD ? Thank you. Merci beaucoup.
Hello dear Mr Crepeau. I apologise but I really haven't seen your question earlier. Majority of my students didn't want to be named by their names so I will not publish them. It is somehow understandable, because most of them were either at the beginning or in the middle of their education, so it was quite predictable that they will play much better around the time when they will get their final degree
