+james lear There has already been a symphony written for Double Bass (well a mini-symphony) by Teppo Hauta-Aho, and I played it with another 15 basses to celebrate Teppo's 75 birthday. Just send a flyer or something out advertising it - I'm sure you'd get enough basses!
-- Génial, les enfants rencontrent la musique, la contrebasse et de belles interprétations dans l'un des Temples de la Musique à Berlin. Superbe Pizzicato :) --
Sergio Naidin it's just a piece they composed themselves to show the audience the sounds of the night train they have to take, because their double basses don't fit into a plane.
1.- Elephants - Saint Saens 2.- dont know :/ 3.- dont know, but its one of Claudio Monteverdi :/ 4.- Satin Doll - Duke Ellington. 5.- Copa Andaluza - Paco de Lucía.

The piece "Express 113" is just marvellous and extremely funny :-) -- is there any way to get sheet music for that? Gibt es eine Möglichkeit um für "Express 113" Noten zu bekommen? Thank for this great video!
The German is very simple here (for the young children). You don't need to know a lot to understand it, and you'll understand quite a lot anyway if you understand English.
I can't even imagine how hard it is to be part of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
If you are gifted, all you need to do is practice and be lucky.
The expressions of the children enraptured is so precious! Planting the seeds of future musicians?

I would write a symphony for nothing but basses if I could get enough volunteers

Awseome bro but as soon as I have finished it first of course!
you dont need volunteers to write a symphony bra, you just need paper and a pencil XD
@@jilskyMaybe he meant volunteers to listen to it.

A great display of what a considered rare instrument can acomplish. I´m very glad I found this video.
Agree, but imagine a contrabassoon sextett...
the second piece is entittled "Express 113" he talks about how hard it is to travel with such large instruments on the trains of Europe.

I love the surprised faces everywhere. This people really understand the meaning of music...
The sound is so beautiful! It is quite different from my stereotype of double bass. I love it!
I love this! Very cool!!
The double bass has a lot of force for the comedian or for the stranger, this sharpens the curiosity, the good astonishment of the children.
i play bass.these are my life goals

Просто класс!!Особенно,когда видишь и слышишь не только нЕчто,близкое к идеалу,а в этом ещё есть и доля тонкого юмора.Браво!!!
