I’ve driven there jimmy and there are 3 types of kart in the kartsim that u can buy iame cadet for 8-13 year olds x30 junior for 12-18 year olds and x30 senior for 18+
I race at this track in a champion ship and I have to say this game has nailed every little detail even the specs on the tarmac are perfect. Job well done
That was pretty realistic, the only thing missing is the physicality! I'll be simming this all winter long in prep for Shifter/Skusa racing next race season. Thank you for the great content Jimmy! You should make a few more setup/how-to videos! Thank You!
as a kartdriver myself i have seen to much of the bad karts in all sorts of games but this is a big stepup. maybe ill consider it for practice until my season starts.
I wanted to get into Karting as a kid, my dad bought me a (probably very) used Formula A, which I think is (or was) the second-fastest direct-drive racing series, so I could buzz it about at the huge truck yard where he works. Unfortunately these were the days when health and safety were starting to go mad, so they couldn't possibly allow a dad to let his son buzz around a vast empty area in a kart, and the thing's now stored vertically in his garage, having not turned a wheel in about 22 years (and it needs a new fuel tank, tyres and seat, and probably an engine rebuild)
You should be able to look around fine with the rift if you only have one sensor, assuming its in front of you, it has the tracking led's all over the sides of the rift, and even on the triangle at the back. Plus even if the one sensor loses tracking, theoretically you should be fine because rotational movement is done by gyroscopes within the rift, and doesn't use the sensors at all, the sensors are only for movement like walking around a room and leaning.
its funny how in europe its more expensive to get into racing than in the US. Cheapest class in dirt racing over here you can get started, provided you have a vehicle to pull the trailer, less than $1000.
I’m a pro karting driver, and let me tell you that karting is not easy nor simple... to get into karting you will have to spend, easily, at least $15.000 (kart chassis, engine, suit, helmet, ecc)... and driving a kart is unlike anything else. Racing a kart is EXTREMELY physical, a lot more than you can ever imagine and it is generally very close racing. A new set of tires is $300, fuel is $11 per gallon, and you still have to pay the mechanic and admission and everything else. Karting is far from cheap and it is extremely competitive and difficult. Driving a kart is not simple because of how it slides, jumps (no suspension) and how quick it is on a track and how fast everything happens in a race. He’s a good sim driver there’s no doubt, but do not take for granted what we do in real life... i have a very specific diet with no bread, no pasta, no cheese, just veggies and white meat and fish (no salt either)... racing in the real world is completely different and takes a lot of tears and sacrifice and money, even in karting
I love Buckmore Park. Only been there once or twice but an absolute blast even in the rentals. Best time I've managed around there is 42 seconds, my lines suck, the other guys (who didn't suck) racing were managing 40s so that's my ultimate goal for that circuit.
Thanks for the video. Price is what holds me back from the purchase, but it really does look good. Maybe I'll see the value in the price once rF2 has proper single player championship options, as just single races won't be full satisfaction (compared to running karting championships in AMS, etc).
I love Buckmore park! Especially turn 8, I always try to carry as much speed as possible always and once I ran over the kerb span left into the tirebarriers and flipped my kart. It really hurt and i felt like i couldnt move my upper body for days. But the sensation is amazing
That was a suprise, I thought that was buckmore I was not expecting to see that!! Bravo! P.S I believe this is where they filmed the Top gear smart car shoot
You can get g25 really cheap with full 900 degrees of rotation, 6 speed shifter and 3 pedals. The force feedback is slower (because its old), i can confirm that but when i am playing on karts in automobilista i think its enough. For reference it does the full 900 degrees, from right to left in over 1,5 seconds.
Free? I don't know any Esport for free, you have always to have computer, console, wheels or game pad and also purchase the game...but seriously to be honest...its more expensive to buy and maintance a mid range racing kart than Esport.
Bit surprised you haven't been karting more. As a young'un watching F1, I knew pretty soon I'd never be able to afford a racing carreer... but I did had plenty of karting over the decades.
Buckmore Park is probably my favourite track alongside one of the other included tracks: GYG, I'd look into doing a Club 100 round at Buckmore Jimmy, insane fun!
They look like they are modeled on the 125cc Rotax Max Karts Jimmy, hard to tell though when in race mode and your using VR hehe. Used to race myself and have many hours at Buckmore. They are not direct drive though Jimmy, sorry hate to be that guy. They are driven using a centrifugal clutch with chain and sprocket drive. That's how you change the gearing from track to track, change either the front or rear sprocket size and it makes a difference in gearing. If you up 1 tooth on the front is nothing like up 1 tooth on the rear. There is lots to learn and understand to be a successful Kart racer. Most important thing is to be smooth, they have no power down low. Nice vid bro, keep it up.
Karts aren't really my thing so I won't be buying it but it was great seeing you on RF2 again! Hopefully it won't be too long until they finish their UI update.
My claim to fame at buckmore is when that scholarship trial on PCars 1 took place :P had to visit the building modelled on circuit, and obviously me being me i also did a couple of laps in a super kart lmao. So the modelling for this circuit is pretty decent!
I really wish they used actual kart brands into the mod like TonyKart, Birel, CRG, Intrepid etc... they did it in RFactor1 mods. I even feel it would add more realism to the mod.
Hello, Sorry for the trouble, I wanted to ask you a question if possible. I don t understand why in Rfactor I don t see the classic marbels of the tires after many laps, that is, the track gets progressively rubber but the marbels not even after 50 laps! I'm sure they see each other because I've seen videos in which they are there. sorry for my English! Many thanks in advance
Looking at the braking and turn in zones they seem to have done a pretty good job of replicating the circuit, driven Buckmore a few times in direct drive karts and looks pretty good. Hope the other tracks are as good
Jimmer you are meant to go sideways - you just go sideways on the way in rather than on the way out. You throw the kart into the corners by steering further than you expect to get the weight all set up for the corner, then ease off through the corner to stop it bogging down.
Weve raced all three in x30 in real life....buckmore the neck snapper.pf the silverstone of uk karting...gyg ( glan y gors) is the spa of karting...amazing tracks...got a kart and x30 engine anytime you wanna real go jimmer ;)
Jimmeh, how'd you get so lucky to get gifted this add on?!? It costs a fortune! Although the only one I can find is the pack which enters you into the virtual super one championship which I have no interest in.. I could really do with this pack as it has some tracks that I haven't been to but I'm going to later on in the year, racing at Shennington this coming weekend and Buckmore in May. Great video, really shows the speed.
The problem is with the physics engine. It's been going on for the entire life of the rfactor physics engine and the issue dates back to the first version of the physics engine from the 90s: slides are very on/off, there's a seeming lack of front grip unless the rear is oversteering, revs often want to almost instantly spike to redline during wheelspin (unless you quickly let off the gas), you can't hold and maintain wheelspin and oversteer angles especially with racecars (instead it's more of an on/off thing) unlike real life (Netkar Pro does this fantastically), and vehicles often behave like there's no inertia during oversteer so the car turns sharply to the inside of the corner during oversteer as if it's simply turning really sharply rather than the rear rotating around while the car's direction of travel keeps traveling along the same path from before the oversteer happened. It's completely wrong from real life as anyone who's raced cars at the limit or even watched racing should be able to spot within a few corners. These issues have been buried deep in the ISI physics engine (F1 Ch 99-02, rFactor 1, GTR2, Automobilista, Project Cars, Raceroom Racing Experience) for almost 20 years now and still not resolved.
why rf2 physics engine feels more realistic then ? are those physics flaws so good hidden that drivers dont realize the "i forgive you physics moment" like it happens in other sim titles ?
Oh shit your racing at buckmore, shame they closed it down I had the lap record there in junior but a shame the hill isn't as steep as in real life and irl its flat out
That means you must live very close to me. I can hear the racing at buckmore park when the wind is blowing in a certain direction! I live no more than 10 minutes from.thr circuit itself.
Iame x30 engines are not direct drive. They have a centrifugal clutch and a electric starter. Direct drive karts have no clutch and require a push to start them. I've owned many over the past 12 years I've been kart racing. But anyway. I've been out the sim scene for a few years. I had huge expectations for the original "kartkraft" but nothing ever came of it :( I have my g27 packed away in my cupboard. I might give this a try!
I'm a degenerate and forgot to include my finishing position. Let's just say I won.
I’ve driven there jimmy and there are 3 types of kart in the kartsim that u can buy iame cadet for 8-13 year olds x30 junior for 12-18 year olds and x30 senior for 18+
Jimmy Broadbent don't know if you mentioned it but the full version is about £400
HEy Jimmy, if youve driven down that road you must live very very very close to me then
can you please turn up your mic/turn down the music in your next videos thanks
ok. so being a karter myself i have to say that idk why your are driving so pathetically
I'm really impressed by that love tap you got after you stopped in the pits. That happens all the time in public karting. #realism
4:49 - Intense ***_"GREEN BOI IS BACK"_***
I race at this track in a champion ship and I have to say this game has nailed every little detail even the specs on the tarmac are perfect. Job well done

Those smoll Bois got some swoll heads
Supra Mayro Kratt>any other sim.
metalmike04 I agree
whens the mario kart stream
Without Supra I could not be master driver!
Looks like a great way to hone sim racing skill, could only wish f1 had this kind of over taking.
as a kartdriver myself i have seen to much of the bad karts in all sorts of games but this is a big stepup. maybe ill consider it for practice until my season starts.
This really shows the intensity of karting and being a gt3 driver myself, I still do karting today, fantastic
However, the game doesn't really show much real life karting technique
Lawrence Neeb oh nice i am formula vee hobby class driver have never karted before should probably try it one time
Panda #44, very intense and keeps reactions sharp, definitely worth getting out there
I did racing for about 7 years and it has propelled me so far ahead in the racing I do now.
I wanted to get into Karting as a kid, my dad bought me a (probably very) used Formula A, which I think is (or was) the second-fastest direct-drive racing series, so I could buzz it about at the huge truck yard where he works. it's more that when I turn my head the sensor is obscured by my monitor. I'll have to bodge something together to give it a bit more height,
hey, Jimmy ever thought of setting a donation goal for a kart? Karting is probably the easiest way to be a "real" racing driver.
its funny how in europe its more expensive to get into racing than in the US. Cheapest class in dirt racing over here you can get started, provided you have a vehicle to pull the trailer, less than $1000.
As long as he uses a T-H-I sized engine so it's THIcc

There's a kid down my street at 425 Motorsports. He has a Kart. I wish I had the time and money to race one.
Hey Luigi Luciani, and what about rental karting? for example Sodi world series. Is it good prepare for "real racing" on the circuits?
Drove a Club100 kart @ Buckmore about 15 years ago.... in the wet..... on slicks.
Bloody difficult, so much fun.
That driving was so good i want this game now
Wow that looks amazing! AMS karts have been my favourite so far, maybe there’s a new king in town!
I love Buckmore Park. Only been there once or twice but an absolute blast even in the rentals.
Best time I've managed around there is 42 seconds, my lines suck, the other guys (who didn't suck) racing were managing 40s so that's my ultimate goal for that circuit.
250cc carts in Project Cars are baller, you end up racing them on smaller configurations of road courses for cars.
Thanks for the video. Price is what holds me back from the purchase, but it really does look good. Maybe I'll see the value in the price once rF2 has proper single player championship options, as just single races won't be full satisfaction (compared to running karting championships in AMS, etc).
was blessed to drive a CRG for a few years, this looks spot on. 125cc and clocked at 99mph at Millville
I love Buckmore park! Especially turn 8, I always try to carry as much speed as possible always and once I ran over the kerb span left into the tirebarriers and flipped my kart. It really hurt and i felt like i couldnt move my upper body for days. But the sensation is amazing
I remembered the chaos the last time you did an online race on karts
20k sub races!
That was a suprise, I thought that was buckmore I was not expecting to see that!! Bravo!
P.S I believe this is where they filmed the Top gear smart car shoot
I do karting and would love to compete in the Esport karting championship but it’s just too expensive sadly

Jonieryk2 cheers mate but I’ve got a wheel but I would need a pc, r factor and it’s costs around £300 to compete in it
C_ Evans yeah the entry for the esports is way too expensive
Marcus Hesketh I know they need to make some money and these are two different games but the esport for the f1 was free
Free? I don't know any Esport for free, you have always to have computer, console, wheels or game pad and also purchase the game...but seriously to be honest...its more expensive to buy and maintance a mid range racing kart than Esport.
I could watch you all day drive those things
That's a great add-on pack. If you ever fancy doing some laps at Buckmore Park for real, Jimmy, let me know. I'm not too far away from there myself.
Well, it's basically the essence of car racing isn't it.
Cool thing! Good video!
Bit surprised you haven't been karting more. As a young'un watching F1, I knew pretty soon I'd never be able to afford a racing carreer... but I did had plenty of karting over the decades.
Jef Vermassen If youre good enough you wont have to afford that much.
You can look behind with your rift even with 1 sensor, it has infrared LED's on the back for positional tracking too.
Looks like fun, wish rF2 ran better in VR for me
Buckmore Park is probably my favourite track alongside one of the other included tracks: GYG, I'd look into doing a Club 100 round at Buckmore Jimmy, insane fun!
Jimmy, it would be awesome if you could go to the actual track and compare your real life experience to this! Great video as always!
I was racing at that track (buckmore park) 2 weeks ago in my first ever race, such an epic track
Direct drive means the engine is mounted to the axle like a rotax DD2. Those have a chain and sprocket like a TaG or an X30
As a kart driver you're really good.
They look like they are modeled on the 125cc Rotax Max Karts Jimmy, hard to tell though when in race mode and your using VR hehe. Used to race myself and have many hours at Buckmore. Most important thing is to be smooth, they have no power down low. Nice vid bro, keep it up.
I think a part of you probably loves being that guy, honestly :P
LOL not at all bro, I am plenty wrong about stuff myself. It's all good, Jimmy has a great channel.
Jason Halls they are Iame x30 karts. Similar to rotax but rev higher.
VR is the only way to sim race anymore.
I really wish they used actual kart brands into the mod like TonyKart, Birel, CRG, Intrepid etc... they did it in RFactor1 mods. I even feel it would add more realism to the mod.
This circuit is crazy did it last summer IRL, down the hill is crazy speed
Lost it down there in the pissing rain at night once great fun lol
This the track LH seen tearing it up on utube?
Hello,
Sorry for the trouble, I wanted to ask you a question if possible.
I don t understand why in Rfactor I don t see the classic marbels of the tires after many laps, that is, the track gets progressively rubber but the marbels not even after 50 laps! I'm sure they see each other because I've seen videos in which they are there.

Many thanks in advance

Reardonator PFI is like a direct replica. Feels identicl
Reardonator club 100?
Daniel Cohen yeah! BUKC more specifically. You done the same?
Reardonator yeah also bukc haha just finished my first year in it
Fair play, third year for me. Addictive stuff
BARGAIN & well worth the money, quality content is welcomed, "depth" wins, thanks for vid, think I'll be buying this
Where do we get this
That looks like a LOT of fun...
Loks like You got massive fun with this karts lisp boy ;)
What was wrong with the original karts in rF2? I thought they were awesome.
Also as well when you lock up in karting it’s called trail braking it’s not like driving a car locking up helps you set up for the corner
Normally the X30s do a rolling start because of the single speed and shifter karts do a standing start but otherwise great video
How does the VR graphics compare to what we see in the footage?
Tried out karts mod on assetto corsa a while ago and it was pretty damn good! They need to create online session with those monsters ! ;d
Yes they do, I race the go karts in AC. Maybe we should race sometime?
Jimmer you are meant to go sideways - you just go sideways on the way in rather than on the way out. You throw the kart into the corners by steering further than you expect to get the weight all set up for the corner, then ease off through the corner to stop it bogging down.
Jimmy in the summer you can race around Buckmore park in a 40 mph kart for £25 each
I literally raced at buckmore last week 😂 the sim version looks very accurate
Glad ur back jimmer!
You saying you’ve been on the road just above Buckmore Park (which is the M2). I live like 5 minutes away from the track ^^
RFACTOR 2 IDEA! BTCC cars at Road Atlanta. great track and car combo. defo worth a try!
Buckmore Park - Johnny Herbert started his racing career there.
More Karts FeelsGoodMan
the curbs can be your friends that are a little to hard when you get punched by them playfully lol. Just take the curbs like a man :P
I raced the club 100 BUKC at buckmore a couple of weekends ago!!!
When are the mods comming for shells amd star power?
An incredible race!!!
Yes it is because the British karting championship is using it in there e sports series
Weve raced all three in x30 in real life....buckmore the neck snapper.pf the silverstone of uk karting...gyg ( glan y gors) is the spa of karting...amazing tracks...got a kart and x30 engine anytime you wanna real go jimmer ;)
Looks super legit
Hi Jimmy, can you please revisit the Kartsim addon since the recent updates?
always looking forward to youre video's man keep up the goodwork from the Netherlands
That's the Pro version. This is £17.47 store.steampowered.com/itemstore/365960/detail/1003/
You Sir, are a legend! Thank you very much!
Only you can make a battle for 10th place so exciting haha
Super GT's karting track lol

Oh shit your racing at buckmore, shame they closed it down I had the lap record there in junior but a shame the hill isn't as steep as in real life and irl its flat out
Its not closed...
Not closed, they just don't run any owner/driver stuff anymore. Purely arrive and drive now.
What he didn’t know was that he would drive there in real life for the 24 hr. kart race
Should do an organised actual race at buckmore with subs :)
Anyone know if this is available in Australia? I tried the day it was released and could get it
for the price of that deisel you bough, and one tract in iracing, you got 3 laser scanned tracks and two karts, hows that dear
That means you must live very close to me. I can hear the racing at buckmore park when the wind is blowing in a certain direction! I live no more than 10 minutes from.thr circuit itself.
Also I used to race there for 4 years in Mini Max and Junior Max classes. The kurbs are you're friends on that track!
love this track (irl)
so much better thn lakeside
Look good, not sure £18 good though. Cheers for the review.
Also FYI that road by buckmore is actually a motorway true fact
Looks like a blast Jimmy but at $31 Canadian, that's half a sim and 3 tracks and 3 karts aren't half a sim
I race at the world karting championship and finished 5th good sim
Anyone know what kind of gloves he wears?
Is there PFi or Rye House in the pack?
BigMacMeal pf is good and gyg
think they are only in the full mod which is about £400 I think
Automobilista still has the best kart simulator. Period.
this is mad lol. its like me karting in real life again
Wondering how this compares to real life or kraft kart.
Oh Yeah Karting Krabs! XD
Im still waiting on dirt ovals and dirtcars on rFactor 2
Karts with VR looks cool as lasagna!
ayy X30 Senior, I race in that class
I live literally 5 minutes away from buckmore park
Great video
Yay kartsim
You finished 3rd right Jimmy?
Be a good way to race.
Kart racing isn't something I'd play unless it's Mario kart idk I guess it's because I do kart racing in real life
AWESOME
