All of this bosses come from the Dreamcast Era ( including Heroes and STH ) and the early " Modern " era. Man I'm glad that Sega is considering other Playable characters than Sonic. Not because Sonic 06 failed that no ones want to have others campaigns like the Adventures did.
I like how that Sega pretty much said just erase everything from Sonic 0 6 and then they bring back Mephiles even though the Septer of darkness doesn't exist anymore or how he came to be in the first place
Unfortunately it won't happen. The only reason we got him here is due to a time rift from the time eater. Mephiles was defeated for good back in Sonic the Hedgehog 06 so there's no chance for that to happen.
It's probably gonna sound bad and a bit wasteful, given that Silver was also in sonic generations as well, if they did a dlc story for this as well, not only would we be guarantied the return of iblis, they could also use the flame core stage but they would have to give silver some new powers like they did with shadow and some different bosses that aren't from sonic 06, like I said, that would be considered wasteful
