My sisters and I have been thrifting for over 40 years. In al those years we never bought to turn our stuff into something else! You are a huge inspiration! Thank you!
Sooo clever…. loving how you added the scarfs to the bottom of the dress and then the sleeves … wow the more I watch your videos the more inspiration …. Thankyou for sharing your fabulous ideas 💜🧚🏿♂️🦋🥰
i just love your channel as i am little depressed i start to realise some pieces Inspired by your creations and anytime, i just feel better. while i used my hands and mind doing some of my own creations, I don't think about the dictatorship that is taking place, settled in my country (france), and against which I have done my part, by being a whistleblower since 2011. I'm tired and this upcycling is re-energizing me.
I love this. As a child of of the 60s I think it is so very cool. Love how your art pieces are so beautiful. I remember when and love seeing you put these together. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you again for being you! You are such an inspiration and so creative. You explanations are so easy to follow. Can’t wait to use up all the beautiful scarves I keep buying but don’t know how to wear. Now they have a new purpose. Thank you again!
I'm never disappointed. You are truly amazing. You are absolutely right. This is beautiful art you can wear. It's beautiful comfortable Elegant all into one amazing piece. I so look forward to your videos each week. Again this I will do. Thanks for sharing and wanting to share. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I’ve been wanting to do upcycling. Last year, I picked up items to put together and for some of them, I did and it was ok but for the others…I couldn’t even start. Couldn’t figure out how to get the image in my head into the machine. So the thrifted items have just sat there. Then two days ago, I happened across your channel and I am mesmerized and inspired. I showed a few of your pieces to my sister to get her reaction and asked if I was crazy. She said “no, it’s about time you started this. You’re incredibly talent but lack courage”. 😬🙈 which is so funny to me because in one of your videos, that was one of the qualities you said was needed to do this. Anyway, so thankful you are sharing these. My creative juices are flowing and I can’t wait to finally cut into those pieces and remake them into something fun!!
I'm sooo happy that you will be doing this!!!! Sounds like you have a wonderfully supportive sister! I have a sister (one year older), she is SO incredibly talented, but she lacks the confidence to put anything out there for the world to enjoy...so sad to me. She totally suffers from over analysis. I hope you dig in and give it a shot! What do you have to lose? Please keep me updated!!!🤗💕💕💕💕💕
@@tmyershandmade978 suffering from over analysis is HARD!!! That’s a HUGE part of my struggle, one I’ve been working to overcome. 😅 I hope your sister comes to the place where she can overcome it as well! Thanks for the encouragement. I’ll attempt to keep you posted!
This was exactly what I was looking for today! My mom always wears kaftans, and I wanted to make her one for her birthday. This is perfect inspiration!
This is another mind-blowing awesome tutorial...im always eagerly waiting for your tutorials .. I'm supp excited to do this with the skirts n tops I have in my wardrobe... Woo-hoo.... Thnkuuuuuuu...
Oh wow!!! You just made my day! I knew you had to be out there somewhere! I have so many pretty scarves and knew they'd be good for something, and I totally love Boho dresses! I love your style! Thanks for sharing your technique!
I was just about to ask you where you got your mannequin from, then you mentioned why you have one. I need to get one but they are not easy to come by in the UK, certainly not ones like that. It's great how you always seem to get your thrift hauls colour coordinated, like they were made for each other.❤💙
The comments say it all! I too am so Happy with your Tutorials. They are easily explained/understood. You are a Beautiful and Charming Lady. Are you self taught in all this Upcycle sewing? Also what kind of sewing machine do you use? I'm just a beginner but learning so much. Upcycling/Sewing is my Favorite! Thank you for sharing your Amazing and Fun Talent with Us! :-)
This dress is beautiful!!! I have a question: do the raw edges (ex. On the sleeve) unravel? I understand that where the fabrics are attached, one to another, you used a zig zag stitch. Where the fabrics are free glowing, you left the edges unsown and raw; these are the edges I am questioning. Would you hand wash this garment and hang to dry? Thank you, in advance, for your response!! ❤️
Hi there, I have a hand wash setting on my wash machine, I would use that and cold water. The raw edges will fray, u could serge the raw edges if u have a serger or run a zig zag stitch along the raw edges, there will still be a small amount of fraying but the zig zag will stop unraveling, or you could always do a double rolled hem.🥰🥰🥰
Omg you're amazing.. this shit gets my heart pumping.. Im a newbie sewer but a pro upcycler. Advise please..I'm a plus size gal, when I'm looking for one of those mannequin should I be looking for a plus size mannequin? Is there such a thing lol Thanks in advance ... Love what you do ❤❤❤
I feel like I've seen plus size mannequins, but I haven't looked for quite awhile. If you create for yourself, I'd get as close to my measurements as possible. If you use it for display to sell, size isn't as important. Thank you so much for watching and reaching out. 🤗😘💞🤗😘💞
I'd love some advice Traci 🙏🏻. I made a patchwork kimono// duster from vintage pillow cases. Basically made one long rectangle, folded it in half, cut a hole for the neck and a slit down the front for a opening. I cut out a bit of fabric on each side before sewing up the sides so it was more of a "T" shape. My problem is, the upper arms are pretty bulky. Any suggestions on how I can make the upper arms lay nicer without getting rid of my "oversized" look that I love so much in a kimono/duster?! 🤔
I think it sounds amazing, patchwork from vintage pillow cases! I've made similar, rectangle shapes, cut into a T shape with blankets. They are similar in fit as you describe. I don't mind it though. If you look at a store bought kimono or robe, the sleeve is cut into a curve where it attaches at the arm hole. I feel like that must give it a better fit.🥰🥰🥰
@tmyers handmade Thank you! It turned out really beautiful. And you're totally right, there is a curve! We'll see how it looks after a light wash. Maybe it will relax a bit. Thanks for all the help!
This is one of my favorites! Love love the way you sewed the sleeves! Amazing! Thank you Tracey, Brenda

Hi there. Boy, that's a toughy. Without seeing it and playing with its hard to give advice. Is it so bulky that you won't wear it?🥰🥰🥰
@@tmyershandmade978 No, I'll wear it lol. I just wonder if there is a way to make it better, you know?
