As a kid I could never understand how we didn't get a Lydia toy in the original line, between the film & the tv show she was pretty much as important as Beetlejuice and looked really toyetic in her red outfits. Also from the film I feel Delia would have been perfect for a "fright-features" style toy, especially in her Day-o outfit.
I never had the Kenner Beetlejuice figures but they've been burned into the nostalgic portion of my brain due to those blasted Kenner Action Toy Guides that were packed in with all boxed toys from Kenner. The Beetlejuice line is interesting because it's 100% a toy line based on the movie in a time when movie tie-in lines really weren't standard fare (outside of Star Wars). I have no idea why Adam got a backwards red hat on his head or why they left Barbara out, she definitely should have been included at the very least (maybe they could have made a 2-pack or had Lydia as a pack in figure with Barbara). Teacher Creature is definitely an older woman so at least that's another lady in that line. Granny Gross definitely could have crossed over into Beetlejuice, but it's interesting how the Neighborhood Nasties and the Haunted Humans are the same yet different. Haunted Humans are ghosts disguised as humans, and I believe Neighborhood Nasties are humans that Beetlejuice has "put the whammy on" with his powers or something.
Yeah the Neighbourhood Nasties were a strange subline. I never saw them in stores but Beetlejuice went right the bargain basement. So, so many odd choices although I've really come around recently
@@gaytiestoys Oh same here. Now they're quirky toys that are still fun despite their shortcomings. The Beetlejuice motorcycle & car are pretty fun looking toys and it kinda became and 80's/90's action figure trope to give the main character a personalized car. Especially in today's world where toy lines with vehicles are fewer & farther between then years past.
They really should have made toys for the cartoon. I remember not really caring for the realistic designs since I spent so much time watching the cartoon versus movie.
I was in the same boat. The movie was a one-and-done adventure but the cartoons offered so much more play value and interesting designs. And I STILL want 'em but alas no.

Weird that the QC on your Loyal Subjects was so poor. I have three of their figures in that scale (Jennika, Alopex, Leonardo) and I'm quite happy with them. I didn't know they had the Beetlejuice licence -- I might try to hunt one up out of curiosity. At 0:07 I think the rhyme you're looking for is "how 'bout an early Christmas goose" (yes of course I know what's really going on on there) 😆
Congratulations on 50 episodes! Love that you dressed up for the occasion.
Thank ya kindly! And I was trying my best Beetlejuice cosplay with the suits I have... HaHa!

Yeah come to think of it a gross-out scared mom figure would've been a hit. Plus Catherine O'Hare just needs more action figures generally.

@@theobscuratoyfiles1142 totally. Any that disappearing grave... playset I guess? I just does the one thing but it's ACTUAL sorcery so that's cool.
i need Lydia, Neca. STAT
Funnily enough, between filming and this coming out today there was a flurry of new NECA product and still no Lydia

Absolutely agree. A little late but would love to see a full circle moment where BJ and Lydia morph into their cartoon relationship

It looks pretty good. But the paint is sloppy and the plastic is unlike any gooey gunk I've ever encountered. Cursed thing.
