Kofuzi and the RW Team met up recently in Boston to get their first run in the new adidas Ultraboost 5X. All new from top to bottom, the Ultraboost 5X receives a bouncier foam in a lighter weight package while also still maintaining the ultra comfortable design the model is known for. It is very similar to the saucony triumph 21, in terms of midsole with just a little less pop, which i contribute to the insole of power run + in the saucony. 5x fits like a glove 👌 and adidas is finally in the right direction with the ultraboost.
Now imagine a boost core with lightstrike pro in the center. Take the weight down even further and add more pop. Or just take the adidas sl midsole and add a knit upper for comfort. I'm good with both.

I loved the original Energy Boost when it came out in 2013. This shoe looks really solid. The only drawback is that Adidas has the Boston 12 and SL2 considerably cheaper.
If this is really the shoe you need though, you could probably justify the price because it is likely to be an absolute tank. I got about 1,000 miles on the original Energy Boost and Adidas is known for making shoes that really hold up. My SL2's have about 100 miles and the outsole looks brand new.
