From the get-go, I was rooting for Liverpool to host ESC 2023. It would be amazing if You’ll Never Walk Alone (the motto, and the audience performing it) was featured in their bid. 🤗 🇫🇮🇬🇧🇺🇦
Let the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 begin! My mother wants to go to Eurovision with me. Of course it will be really difficult and so not than I’ll go to the pre party in Amsterdam. Thank you for this video and so much credits to you William that you published your book! So much love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🫶❤️
Liverpool is the birthplace of European comptemporary music! It united a whole generation in the 60's and let people believe and gave hope in peace freedom equality and love again. So I can't think of a better place to host the Eurovision Songcontest a contest that stands for all those things, Especially in these dark times where there is so much uncertainty in what's gonna happen next. I hope that Eurovision in Liverpool can shine it's light over Europe and give us a glimps of hope fore a better tomorrow.
Hi guys from Liverpool. Well I am still shocked , but very excited for next year . I'm just sitting by the arena now and it's a beautiful sunny day . Well I have been watching Eurovision every year since I was a kid way back in 1972 . Well i haven't been to Eurovision yet but I really hope this is the year , since I live here, preferably tye final but if not then a semi . Hope you guys have a wonderful time when you come here . And a wonderful channel this is , well done .
I was surprised that it is not Glasgow. but given that Liverpool's bid is so strong, I can see why Liverpool is chosen. let's hope that we have another spectacular show next year.
A huge shout out to Oliver. Honestly you have done both Wiwibloggs and Liverpool proud - thank you so much. I'm originally from Liverpool, far older than you, and i remember a time in the 70s when Pier Head was no more than a bus terminus. the gentrification of Liverpool over the past 20 years has been immense and we have a locale that is so perfect for the event. A 15 minute walk from the major train station to Pier Head where EuroVillage will be held - a 15 minute walk from the EuroVillage to the arena - and a dramatic skyline of the banks of the Mersey and the waterfront. Just imagine those drone shots!! As fans, we seem to forget that the wishlist of the broadcasters and the wishlist of the fans are incredibly différent. The size of the venue is not an issue - a huge audience at a larger arena creates a greater security problem for the hosts. Keep it small, keep it concise but broadcast to the world.... Liverpool - Imagine, Let It Be, whatever. Liverpool is going to SERVE. Oliver, thank you
Liverpool has the largest Chinese community in the U.K. too! Great street food and huge Chinese New Year celebrations. Hope we get some international flavour to represent the city in the interval too
still can't believe eurovision is coming to the UK. Going on my own, but I can't wait to meet eurovision fans. Did the same at London Eurovision Party, and it was one of the best nights i've ever had :)
Damn it, I missed the stream. I rooted for Liverpool ever since the UK announced it will take on hosting duties. It's a great city with great people and I'm sure they will put on a lot of work to make this one of the best EVSC ever. The bad thing is that England takes the attention again, but Liverpool is quite a unique city within the country, so they deserved it.
Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da life goes on brah! The Beatles' home city is hosting the biggest song contest in the world! Honestly this'll be another musical milestone for this city and honestly Liverpool was chosen over Glasgow probably because Liverpool has more of a musical background and history than Glasgow (you can correct me if I am wrong though). The 2 cities passed the criteria with flying colors for sure anyways so I was happy with either...
If Spain legitimately (bcs the win was brutally taken away from them) or even a random country like Montenegro or Croatia or Albania held the contest instead of UK, the costs would have been significantly lower, particularly for the countries that are withdrawing first. Besides, we all know Ukraine will win again, and it will keep winning repeatedly until the war is over, even for a decade if it is needed. Is it to early to say that the far left destroyed ESC?
Bad choice! Bulgaria would have won ESC 2020 if not for the coronavirus pandemic. So, as a matter of fairness, Bulgaria should host the ESC 2023 festival as Ukraine is not fit because of the war.
That was a no brainer. Glascow is Scottish, about to leave the English Empire. So of course they couldn't host. Get it? Welcome to Europe Scotland, we love you. It will of course be very British, with a little Ukraine. Peace.
@@kenneththom9165 Hey Kenneth. UK = United Kingdom. Scotland don't care about Charles or England, they don't want to be run by London, who denies them the referendum. Oxford Truss just make things even worse for them.
Great! The motto should be ' you never walk alone'. That fits just perfect with Liverpool and the current situation in Ucraine.
As a Liverpudlian this is so wonderful - the hope and joy this will bring and we will put on a beautiful show on behalf of Ukraine - so happy 🇺🇦
Congrats to Liverpool!
Maybe this year there will be no 3 nights, but only 1 - the final, as there will be no enough participants for preselection

i love liverpool as a city , its beautiful, and as i live in cornwall its closer than glasgow
They've already hinted at the slogan in their video: "All you need is love".

Oliver is so lucky to be near the host city😭
Right? He got that accommodation sorted!
I hope there will be a bigscreen at Anfield stadium. Stockholm did the same thing in 2016.
as a liverpudlian i cant believe it. so surreal
Enjoy your year! 🎉 🥂

London has virtually always had the spotlight in England.
Scouter living here in Vegas, wahoo!
I am curious about the postcards. Will they be 100% Ukraine, 100% United Kingdom, or split? _(Or EBU can't decide so 100% Spain…)_
😂

Freu mich so auf den Esc in Liverpool. Herzlichen Glückwunsch. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland.
Lo siento. Me gustaba Glaslow.

So pleased with the decision - I bet Nicola Sturgeon is furious 😏

Scotland is never leaving. Did you see the streets of Edinburgh when the late Elizabeth II came through?
