I don’t understand why it’s a big deal for some whether they write it or not like your faves don’t have ghost writers?? Let’s be for real 😂 Plus these girls are really creative so I’m genuinely curious what they had outputs on OR if they were to actually produce or make their own music
None of my favorite rappers have ghostwriters. You don’t understand it, then I’ll educate you. Being a lyricist is about writing your own raps. If you rap something someone else wrote, you’re not meaning those words because they aren’t yours. If you use ghostwriters, you aren’t a lyricist. I can’t take someone’s words serious if they didn’t write it.
@@AnthonyRay Point taken and I get what you’re coming from. But I’m actually referring to kpop stans and trolls trying to find fault with XG and compare them to their other gg / kpop artists as if their faves are writing their own verses. Like I said, it would be great if they can be actively involved in the writing and production process as they seem really creative (based off their documentaries and interviews). Now that would def set the bar higher :)
Sis, I understand what you mean, and I understand AR's idea. You have two different perspectives. As a group, their writing skills training time is definitely inferior to that of professional rappers. The KPOP cultural industry will indeed use this to attack them on the Internet when facing the impact.
"itsyadayday".dayday is the main lyricist of tgif and girl gang......and is also the general director of lyrics for rap line works. He will claim the works on IG when they are released.
@@mariekandi6914 the mistake is just catering to kpop stans expectations when they're a global group who should shoot for a wider audience of majorly (English speakers) like harvey said "let them get big mad"
so the more credibility they have on their artistry the better
Simon seems to have stated that the girls are contributing to the verses, while Dayday, who works with Simon seems to be the main author of the verses.
Simon has already responded to this question in his IG live broadcast a few days ago. He called Dayday a member of the XG family. He is the chief lyricist of the rap line works.
Yup these verses all seem to have their(xg) mark on it, it seems to be the product of taking a lot of input from the group and then writing verses that each showcase their personalities.
I hope eventually they can learn enough from their lyricist to where they can write their verses all on their own or with their band members
The girls contribute ideas/phrases for the tapes but the actual lyrics (especially the English lyrics) are written by their team. I don’t think they have the skills in English (yet) to pull off all of these rhymes but some of the Japanese lyrics from previous tapes were provided by them but I don’t think they are officially credited.
Except Maya, her English is excelent (due to her study on international school).
its almost written by dayday,Simon teammate
@@Levascue she might speak English fluently but thinking and rhyming in English is difficult for native speakers, let alone all the references & details from a different culture.
@@cindih78 I get you, for me it's difficult even speak in english without preparation - I always sound like some version of Rasputin, when I have to talk with english-speaking natives. :D And composing verses and rhytmes is another level....
@@cindih78 living in a different language for several years, it is definitely possible to write. I did and I do. The references really depend on how much you are involved in the culture. I am a native English speaker, living in Japan 15 years and I am more likely to miss recent English references than Japanese ones. I am capable of making hella puns in Japanese, but not in French, which I have spoken for 30 years, because I don't really listen to French music or watch that much TV.
So, it is completely possible, even if unlikely.
Maya and Coco they got writing credits in "show you can" with 4 more peaple
Maya has the most experience when it comes to writing English lyrics. But the girls train under Simon their producer and DayDay their rap mentor learning writing and technique in rapping. They all have a hand in writing lyrics but DayDay is their main source when it comes to writing.
In the previous fan meeting, Cocona briefly revealed the behind-the-scenes of their lyrics writing in Show U Can. She said that she was responsible for the Japanese part, and Maya was responsible for the English part, but the specific proportion is unknown.
@@JURgoINonthemic Yup I remember our boy renz got that information
Yes Jurin was referencing Royce da 5 9 because her next line "realer than hip hop" is from his song Hip Hop
The tapes are part of their Labs studio that are project meant for the girls to work and their crafts and develop as artists :
tape -> rap
vox -> vocals
Move -> dance
Dayday( a former member of their CEO group) is the one who directed the tapes since tape 2.We know that the girls are involved on the creative part (choice of the beats and lyrics).
The only things we know for sure when it comes to the rap part for XG (the songs of the group or the only rap song they released ) is that Simon is always involved and Dayday heavily and that Maya/Cocona had lyrics credits for Show you can ( the rap song they did together).
There's a difference being an emcee who's strictly hip hop and a rapper from company. These ladies can sing and rap and dance. They give life to the music they're given. Now it would be cool if they are developing the choreo ( I hear Jurin does that) and writing/producing. Hopefully Simon will give them those opportunities. But we can't compare what they do to someone who ONLY raps. We can say that compared to a lot of "rappers" who only rap, they are way better as they can sing, rap and dance LIVE. So I give them leeway. This coming from a hip hop head since the 80s, so I want my emcees to write their own lyrics. But I would love to hear songs they wrote exclusively though.
Maya & Cocona have been confirmed to have writing credits still though
well said!
Yea the 5'9 is reference to Royce da 5'9 track Hip Hop. In the hook he asks "what's realer than Hip-hop?!
I know my streets, I know my sounds/ Yall know my beats, How I get down"
XG- tape #4 Trampoline (all the rappers together) is out now🎉🎉
Yes! And it's also pretty cool. :)
JURIN, COCONA, MAYA and HARVEY 🔥🔥🔥🔥
XG are still writers in training. They come up with the concept and get their spit tweaked. They still have to land their verse flawlessly so no issue with me who writes what.
Maya and Cocona both got writing credits for their "Show you Can" song. So they were directly involved in the writing there.
People need to relax with the writing or not writing. Point is, they delivered. There are plenty of of artists who don't write yet we still rock with them. XG's rap line can spit. Nuff said.🐺👽😊💗👍💐💐💐💐💐
That is somewhat true in most genres, You are obviously young and have no Idea the history or Importance of writing lyrics in hip hop, that doesn't mean someone can't still be a great artist, but it still isn't their words or their art.
Hi AR, they have come along way, in a short time. It is so good to see how they've developed in their skills, and individually have their own certain style...this channel is where I discovered XG, I've been following their journey since Nate and Chris OG ALPHAZ, sent their vid of them, to you...🤙☝️🙂
XG❤
I appreciate artists that write their own music, but that's half of the whole right? Delivery is huge and it's part of what makes lyrics impactful. XG is surely delivering and making strides to become better, well rounded artists.
Coco and Maya have talked about their contributions before, and Chisa is a good producer and has written entire songs according to Simon. They only have less than 15 songs on streaming platforms currently so we just have plenty of time and future albums & releases to see their potential 💗💗💗 and I know they’ll only get better, more involved and confident as time progresses
Yes, finally!! We miss you reacting to them😭😭
XG 🐺🔥.. Thanks Anthony 👏💜💜
Trampoline dropped with 4 rappers today 👏👏🔥
Damn this is XG🔥!
rap from another galaxy🌌
whoa finally your reacting to XG. Thank you sir for reacting to XG.
Tape #4 has actually 5th rap song which was uploaded about an hour ago.
Let’s go AR, Let’s go XG!
I don't care if they did or didn't XG is on their way plus first world 🌎 tour plus new music May 21
Watching these reactions is very helpful because I understand the references now! It makes me appreciate the writing and delivery 10x more.
They chose their beats and do what you call a rough draft then it gets cleaned up and schemed properly as English translation would need lots of words switching and adding definite articles determiners and proposition words to make the sentence relatable and proper. example; Petty to their toes is Tsumasaki ga kogara / small toes in google translate. They have been studying music and dance for 5 years before debut. They have musicality. In an interview with Billboard or Apple music. They played them some songs and they broke down the beat and knew the count from the minor key and other jargon so they are very knowledgable in music but having to write in English as a 3rd language is not easy. Maya also would struggle as she is not from US so they need the American team to work with to get the lyrics and current pop culture knowledge. Shayshay & Drake ref which is current right now. Proof is they have credit for Show You Can. Since this is not an official song that has masters and is owned by another company. All they can do is upload it on Platforms for free with no ads for profit.
Idc who write these bars but that person is freaking talented
Most of them surely come from DayDay. The bars he writes for XG are immaculate
They do write some of the lyrics. They don’t always write all their stuff, but they always have input on em
Been waiting for your reaction.
That hip-hop knowledge is impeccable 👌🏼
Hope you get to watch Cocona’s on your own time. Also they have the track with Valorant called UNDEFEATED.
they do help write the tapes, sometimes they write the original and have it proofed. Don't listen to random chatters
Simon already said they have a writer who writes the majority of the English raps though. Most of them don't speak English so of course they'll need help. Nothing wrong with that
Love your reaction always ! XG ❤ thank you 😊 they are really cool
I love your XG reactions especially to the tapes because of your knowledge of rap, hip hop and musical technicalities. It’s more than just you enjoying the videos. Keep up the reactions please!
リアクションありがとう☺️✨
coconaへのリアクションも待ってます!
Well of course Myas English is good. She speaks fluent English
Cocona writes her raps
Harvey ate.🔥
Maya ate 🔥
Coco ate.🔥
Mother Jurin ate.🔥
New Tape #4 - Trampoline released today.🤯
Vocals are coming soon...🎙️👽🤍🐺
honestly don't understand why people expect them to write? guys, for most of them english is their THIRD language, who tf writes bars in their 3rd language like bffr
They have a team that could help them, and they could translate. They do write sum but mostly only the bars not in English. They are training to write I believe but it’s a very big part in being a REAL rapper
Been waiting for this!
The only official writing creds are that of Maya and Cocona on "Show You Can". It's rumored that they collab on the tapes. It makes sense that the ladies aren't writing these as English isn't their first language and so many references are very American specific. However, one can speculate that they collaborate with the writers heavily because in order to deliver at the level they do, with the flow and cadences, you can't just read that off a piece of paper. Also, these ladies are 18-22 years old. I do hope that some of them are practicing their pen and maybe get a rap written by them in the future.
Yassssss AR ❤❤❤❤❤ XG❤❤❤❤❤ These tapes are 🔥
I think who write the lyrics is Simon-san and the girls with their song writter team.
yabai (japanese) - can kinda translate to the expression "oh shit!"
they probably could write their own raps in their native language and that would be exciting to hear
Maya’s second language is English. She’s very fluent with it.
Shayshay is referring to Shannon Sharpe’s podcast where people, like Kat Williams, spill mad tea
I think this reaction needs more coffee
I'm a huge wrestling fan... she carried the wresting bar. "Predigree" which is Triple H finish
Cocona’s is my favorite. I don’t see anyone having an issue with it. But I get you, and I am glad you’re back homie.
Maya speaks fluent English. Why are people pretending like she has a heavy Japanese accent lol.
Yeah, not only fluent but natural. She sounds like a native.
i was thinking the 5'9 thing was a reference to haikyu, an anime about vollyball, theres a short guy, 5'9, known ass little giant bc he can jump high, "real hip-HOP" but i see now its a double entendre
リアクションありがとう!勉強になります😊
She talking about the haters
They just dropped another tape! 😂
Connor Price and Armani have commented on Maya’s tape on Instagram
is the copyright issue for Jayz in specific countries only???
Can’t wait to watch your reaction of the coco’s one and the trampoline🐺
Best female rappers for me
I swear Jurin really went for the I'm going to give you an Hip Hop culture lesson, I can reach but that chorus sound like a Now tell me I ain't real(trap or die line) :
Last time I checked, yup, still hot ->Last time I ckecked is a line of Jeezy - Trap or Die /beat track ref Connor Price & Nic D - Still Hot
Still got that fire flame flava,-> Jurin motto you can hear on galz cypher/Tape 3/ LE SSERAFIM Open Mic Challenge
it actually all start with tape 1 : pyro on the beat, bars got flame
can't stop Won't stop -> Jeff Chang 's book about the culture / Young Gunz - Can't Stop, Won't Stop
On the mic, blast off when I rock it(rockit/rocket) -> Rakim - When I B on tha Mic - Royce da 5'9" (ft Eminem) - Rock City / Herbie Hancock - Rockit -ref to Pokemon team rocket motto: team rocket blast off again
I ain't 5'9 but this lil giant knows /What's realer than hip-hop -> Royce Da 5'9" - Hip Hop or Real Hip-Hop-Das EFX /Gudda Gudda(ft Lil wayne) - Small Thing to a Giant ?
I'VE BEEN WAITING
COCONA!!!
I'm pretty sure they write their own lyrics for the cyphers and tapes, Harvey and Jurin are the only listed writers for Chill Bill
Cocona
i don't think they are writing the whole thing. but they are definitely contributing.
There's no way the girls fully write their rap lyrics. I'm sure they were present for the process and helped out with it. Maybe with time when they hone their skills and get better with English, we'll start to hear stuff that they fully have creative control over.
I'm waiting for your reaction on "Undefeated" also, pleaseeeeeee
all xg tapes are their Traning classes,of course we cant say their are Rapers, but we can see how the team learning and respact rap and HipHop.lets see in the futrue

RE: Maya's line. Yabai means different things depending on context. For instance can mean "awful" or "cool." I couldn't say what she means here. Maybe there's some deeper meaning.
It also means “dangerous “
✌️🔥🔥🙏
J HOPE NEURON PLEASE!
Oh all the people I thought you would be one that got the L infant bar
Where is Coco !?
Shayshay in Chinese means 'Thank you' (謝謝 : Xiexie) , but no relation here 🤔???
i understand you care about rappers writing their own verse but let's be honest here: rap have ghostwriter since the begining of hip hop.even the first rap hit song lyrics rappers delight come from another rapper (grandmaster caz).many iconic rappers have been ghostwrited they just don't tell you and pretend they do it all themselves.
0-100 the catch up
Did I miss Cocona’s?
React to Jennie and Zico spot please
Jessi and coma no lowky reaction pls
You haven't reacted to Haley Reinhart lately. Here's hoping you will react to Haley Reinhart and PostModern Jukebox covering "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.
