Fantastic video as it gave me confidence that even advanced players can struggle with plans through seemingly simple middle games and you may not have a “plan” until later or even late in the game.
@@xhago605 and now let’s break down the use of the word adorable since your so low iq. For instance let’s pretend that I’m you and I’ll use it in a sentence or 3. One more time me being you I adore soap because I don’t know what it’s like to use it. I hope some of that registers for ya. Now you know how to make sense of the word adore.
2:03:00 this type of opponent just sucks, offering a draw like he doesn't wanna admin a loss. Like cmon man, stop playing chess if you play with anger lol 😂😂
Nelson your chess tutoring via live games is myfavorite. I wish you would start another rating climb from about ELO 300, like you did before. That was fascinating. It's probably boring for you to destroy all players within a 1500 ELO though.
Hello all. 2 questions. 1) what platform does Nelson stream on? 2) can we all try to convince him to play the Lucchini Gambit? And then title the video with that gambit to be found? You guys rock
Game 1: Nxf7 would have led to mate if done a turn or two earlier. Probably combined with trading off the knights first. My eyes saw the tactic. The dude saw it too late, after black slid the bishop back to defend the knight.
Nelson - Love your content I watch all the time Is there a way you can say “right ?” fewer times 2:15 is an example You say “right ?” three times in those 20 seconds My OCD kicks in watching you. Thing is is I love how you explain things.
Crazy long first game, I guess you should have seen all of the tactics coming together at once for a mating attack! I personally suck at these slow positions where you know you’re “winning” with the space advantage but don’t know where to go from there
I wait for the other guy to blunder! If I can't see a tactic I try to improve my worst piece. The sure way to find the best move is one second after you've made another move.
54:28 I was looking at Qg4 since I liked how it attacked the knight. Then you brought up the inbetween bishop move, which would remove the defender of the knight
Also, at 2:44:34 , could your opponent have played Ne4? The idea is if Qxe4, then Bxg5, which attacks your rook. You can't push f6 or else your knight would have to move allowing Nac5. And you can't move your rook or else your opponent sacs their rook for your knight, which seems to be devastating. However, if you don't take the free knight, it can be rerouted to c5, which can also devastate your defenses I don't want to look at the engine, but I feel as though this is a good move
1:02:35 I think you can call this backrack tactics, also deflection... because what you are doing is that if they would take either queen or rook. The piece that takes is deflected of the backrank and the defence of the other... if the bish on c8 was out... this tactic would not work as the last backrank piece would be defended one more time. Actually the do have Nf8 or Qd6-d8 if they take with queen first... so its not a mate, but you do win a piece no matter. So i guess its not backrank really... but it looks like deflection to me. Then also pin is involved as Rxd8 pins the queen.
Would you consider streaming some Arena tournaments? (Maybe without the guess the rating stuff) Would be cool to see some variability in the ratings of the opponents during the stream. Thanks as always for the content!
Hi Nelson, how high do you think you can end up in this rating climb? And what rate do you think you are, and IM? Thanks and I love to listen to your commentary on your games even though I only play against a bot at about 900.
How long can I go without studying openings? I'm around 1690elo on rapid of Lichess. I just know e4 Gioco Piano, Fried liver type stuff. Never studied anything for black apart from sometimes play Kings Indian, or mirror opponent's moves and try to get tricky and take them away from their plans with and hope to get the middle game in good shape. I did try the London, but tend to like e4 openings though. Feel like I should learn openings now but not really in the mood to study them.
If you have high spatial IQ, be a Tactical Magician like Nelson who can break all the rules and still come out ahead. I have low spatial IQ and could memorize all the main lines of twenty different openings and never get to where you are now. Playing chess should be fun and it sounds like you have other life priorities that don't require hours of hard work every week.
There were two pieces on the other side, so castling there would have taken longer. Plus, I believe his opening just attacks the king side as the king usually castles there, and in the middle game you could get some back-rank shenanigans
Chess is absolutely harder against worse players Lol. As I am climbing to 1000 now, I am winning more games than ever because there is not as much nonsense and shocking moves that give me paralysis. This results in me playing more conventional sensible chess and I end up winning more games.
I just had got some notifications from other channels I watch concerning the rapid and blitz but I’m more than halfway finished watching here the recaps can wait
I think your middle game and end game needs work. There are so many games recently when you comment you don't know what to do. I'd also love it if you could download your pgn files and put linked to them in your videos.
Nelson promotes a pawn to Queen his opponent still offers a draw with a rook and knight vs Queen Rook and Bishop I think you have a good shot at GM if you went for it Nelson
Wow you must’ve seen that move in that game vs pipistruly otherwise come on you wouldn’t haven’t taken with the Rook Nelson that was crazy funny Rook goes back to block his rook and it’s a discovered check on his king with your Bishop ha ha

Don’t change the board, it’s good for lower level players like me to see different boards so we don’t get comfortable.
In that first game at the 15:00 mark or so, why couldn’t you take the night with your pawn?
Discovered attack on the queen from a bishop, and queens are worth more than knight, so it wouldn't have been lucrative to just take the knight

Metal board with Bases pieces looks good ....
That dark green maybe a bit much

In the first game, after Kf8, I think BxN followed by Qh5 threatening mate would have been better.

@ 9;52 >> B - G6 !! .. if p x b then your kn forks R with Check
Pawn takes Bishop knight forks rook ? Is it an exchange of two pieces for one it’s an equal exchange to a point
