    3 Day Trapline Adventure using live traps:
    Join me for a 3 day trapline adventure in the Eastern Woodlands cage trapping raccoons and other small game. Trapping is an essential self reliance skill and a way to greatly increase your ability to harvest game and provide yourself or your family with food. Small game like Raccoons can provide you with protein, fat, fur and more. This is definitely a skill to practice and cage trapping allows you to trap easily without harming the animal if you so choose. Trapping is one more avenue to train in to go along with the skills of survival, bushcraft, and self reliance.

    I have the best success with live traps when I cover the metal floor with dirt. They don't seem to like walking on the unnatural metal surface. Enjoyed the video and will dig mi e back out.

      I agree. I have been using some soft soil and pine straw/leaf mixture. On the last couple of sets I tried to set the trap down in the soil just a little to cover the grate. I definitely think it makes a difference. I appreciate you tuning in and I hope you can get a few out there and have good luck on the trapline! Take care.

    Your not alone with inaccurate weather forecasts. Here in the UK we have our share of overpaid, useless weather presenters.
    Raccoon's look so cool and some US citizens keep them as pets.

      Thank you so much my friend! I have a friend, an OLD DAY coon hunter that lives a mile down from the property where this was filmed. YES INDEED! We have had a record amount of rain this year so I believe it is because the fields have been so muddy that they haven't gotten them earlier. The day after I posted this video, they actually came and got them but they left some terrible ruts along the edges of the field.

    Should you dispatch the feral cats as they will be damagim=ng the native wildlife.

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  3 года назад

      That would be a good debate honestly. There are some homes in the general area and I had a small suspicion that they could possibly be pets from there however, I felt confident they were feral. I have never liked killing an animal unless I was going to make use of it. Also, my 4 year old daughter often walks the trapline with me and she loves a cat like I love her lol, I would loose lots of stock with her if she saw me dispatch a cat lol :)

      @@blackhatbushcraftIt's a load of crap that feral cats can't make good pets. I used to have my caravan behind an old abandoned house on a farm. It was Winter when I moved there and COLD. And I woke up one morning to find six of them curled up on the bed with me - they'd come in through the ventilation hatch...
