Sonuus already makes guitar-to-MIDI and bass-to-MIDI boxes. Check out the Sonuus G2M and B2M. US$99 retail, I think. I've got the B2M and it tracks very well.
I wanted to get this pedal already before seeing this demo. Subdivisions is one of my favorite Rush songs. Let's just say it made me desperate to have this baby.
This is the best demo of this unit I have seen so far. The unit has been out for a while now and the other demos sound like cheesy '80's soundtracks. Andy does a knockout job as usual. Would've been fun if he could've done a version of Edgar Winter's 'Frankenstein " on this thing. I'm not sure that this unit can get the fat Moog tone I would love to have.
Now I know why it's been 5 days since the last Andy vid. It probably took 4 days to figure out all the applications in this pedal. Its wonderful that it gives you so many options, but too many options can also be paralyzing.
wgb01001 I bought this about a month ago. I now know enough to navigate the menus, turn effects on and off and change the parameters. It's pretty intuitive. Here's the thing: I'm a complete dumbass! /:-) If I can learn it, anybody can.
It is in the fingers and it's not lol you can't get a step sequencing sound without a synth but you can have all the pedals in the world and still sound like shit. Yeah you like my fedora!? Me too guys!!!
Notwithstanding that this is yet another one of your insightful demo/reviews, you really rocked the hell out of "Subdivisions"! What software do you use to edit/multitrack your videos with?
Great DEMO Andy! I bought one a few months ago. SUPER FUN!!! I created a whole set of unique presets using the "Blender" which randomly generates oscillator/modulation/dirt combinations to add to the already RAD 70 built-in presets. Plus, you can tweak any parameter of the built-in's to your liking, rename and save them as user presets. Infinite possibilities with the SY-300. I... AM... IN... LOVE!!! My one point of advice to anyone interested in buying one: run it through a stereo set-up. Seriously. The SY-300 creates the most amazing soundscapes in stereo, where in mono you just don't get the same magic. (ping-pong, panning and rainbow unicorn farts) AMAZEBALLZ!!!
I remember buying this Boss Guitar Synthesizer original unit during the early 90's I think I used it for a bout a week then stored in closet for years till I sold it used for way less than what I pay for it
Hola, gran review. Muchas gracias!
Alright Rush! Love your choice to demo this. Best so far and this has only played for 30 seconds. Great band to demo this with. Dose this do amp simulations Or cabs? Tape delay 😮that’s modulatable? Sort of speak:what about cross modulation types of sounds like you would on a super synth like the Jupiter Synthesizers? I’m looking for that Jupiter6&8 cross modulation/unison sound. Any suggestions?
Which pedal should i buy ? The Sy-1 or the SY-300 ? What is the difference ? Which one would you recommend ? I would even use it for electric violin concerts with DJ ...
I usually put any pedal that deals with tracking/envelope fairly early in the chain. Then 'playing with other pedals' is a non-issue because they won't affect the input signal of the synth. Andy
The problem is if I buy this I might never leave my bedroom again.
So?
😂 knowing thyself
Theres nothing good out there, except the trees.
Amazing how far these synths have come for the guitar!
no doubt...the fact that you no longer need that external pickup is incredible

paulthegeek
whoa...i gotta go find me some videos of that in action
The vibrato response when Andy used the bigsby was really impressive.
@1:28 if anyone is looking for it.
The intro is pure badassery. Thanks Andy!
In the high school halls. In the shopping malls. Andy slays Subdivisions.
+Drew Elliot That synthesizer can produce some really good Signals, can't it?
@@KubilayErtuna Signals! You did the thing! I love movingpicturestube
Those were the original lyrics. Rush knew back then.
Guess who's getting this tomorrow
So, how do you like it?
Me
Matt Bellamy?
Alex Lifeson?
A MINHA MÃE
I love the amount of rush on this channel
+Eric Dutton That synthesizer can produce some really good Signals, can't it? I like the Subdivisions of the controls.
I wanted to get this pedal already before seeing this demo. Subdivisions is one of my favorite Rush songs.
Let's just say it made me desperate to have this baby.
The shot of playing "Subdivisions" was enough for me to immediately want this.
Thank you!
I think this is the only person I've ever heard do a cover of Subdivisions much less one that sounds a lot like the original. Pretty cool.
not to mention Andy plays Alex AND Geddy's parts with no problem whatsoever.
Boss is going to sell at least 100 of these to people who want to recreate what Andy did here with the Rush song. Too cool. Well done, bro.
Thus far this is the only dude that I've seen make anything like this sound good. All midi guitar and synth demos on yt are crap, for the most part
I was one of them. \m/
@@rokhardwood Any buyer's remorse? Love this demo but am just not sure...
Wow Andy! Opening was just epic! I use to cover Subdivisions when it was a new hit in my cover band in high school.
Amazing subdivisions.
let's grab this pedal and go back to 1982 in a time machine ;-)
Is this the best cover of Subdivisions? Brings me back to the very early 90's. Andy's my booooooooooy
Love the Subdivisions intro! Just great!
Perfect pedal for your video game soundtrack cover band
i dont think those bands actually exist tho. oh wait super mario bros 2 soundtrack at my local bar next weekend nvm
i would just create some evil Nine Inch Nails doom metal with it + tons of fuzz/dist
This pedal makes me want to go run up a flight of stairs in slow motion.
Hank Hill it makes me want to star in a 80s movie
Hank Hill I want to make dodgy exercise videos to it! Oh no wait I want to do that anyway ;)
***** Is the "In Space" part of your sentence really necessary? Where else would you have a spaceship battle, not in space?
dammit bobby
Firefly didn't pull the Crazy Ivan in space. Fail.
nice job Andy, you nailed the Subdivisions cover - you always have the best demos
Be cool or be cast out! Awesome as always Andy!
Andy has no boundaries. He's the Malmsteen of pedal reviews.
Great demo, as always, Andy!
Andy, never quit your job.
Oh yeah... PLUS, the sequencer is totally programmable! SWEET! 80's synth rhythm FOR DAYS!
excellent job once again Andy. Synth sounds amazing.
It would take me longer to learn how to use that thing effectively than it took me to learn basic guitar! :-)
Well done for using a rush demo!
Funky as all get out! Subdivisions!!! Just awesome!
That was the coolest review for this pedal ever. Awesome 😎
Awesome! I use a Roland GR-1, mainly for its clean acoustic instrument simulations.
Props to the gent in the video. He is a bona fide New World Man.
What a demonstration.......wonderful intro.
Well done, Andy!
Amazing opening.
Super nice job on this one!!
love how andy smiles everytime the sound they are using is totally over the top and unusable.
i never heard a sound that i thought "unusable."
I’ll use any sound, nothings taboo....

Thank you George.
I have had it for around a month, at the beginning wasn’t sure but I love it now, you can get really amazing and modern tones... staple in my board
Loved it. Could you do another demo going through even more
RUSH Subdivisions baby!🤟🏼Damn that pedal is sick!
I think I saw Andy smile in there a couple times. That counts as a positive review.
does this unit come with a personal assistant that stays in your home so you can figure it out ?
Beyond Limits Productions is this Production Beyond your Limits?
We need you open a school! What excellence!
I feel like a new born after watching this.
What I think is impressive is that he did the entire video without using the pedal's preset patch "Rush Hour".
+ProGuitarShopDemos Watching this video out of curiosity, then Andy plays Subdivisions and I suddenly want this pedal. Great job.
Great job playing rush bro!!!!
This video should have been 3 times longer. Please do a part 2 on this pedal, Andy!
Nice!!!!Great video as usual..
when I bought the sy 300 home I played it for 3 hours,i was totally freaked out.the best guitar synth, that non midi this is for real..
you can always trust Andy to play Rush in his demos, great!
Awesome vid.... want one... should be called a YYZ300

Hell yeah, Andy!!
Kick ass song, dude!
Andy is a beast!
Oh geez. I could do some serious damage with this....
Matt Snyder yes always wear ear protection, the bones in the ear are more fragile than you think
You never forget your first time running an auto-wah through 100 watts.
Tim Volk 🤣
1.08 Andy went full Turrican.
I was expecting a laser from that headstock.
Oh man I tell ya hwat all ahhh need is a guitar and an amp to get these sounds.
Maybe a few pedals ?
yeah, it's all in the fingers ...... and Andy's got it.
Chromaesthesia you need to intensify your fedora tipping good sir
It is in the fingers and it's not lol you can't get a step sequencing sound without a synth but you can have all the pedals in the world and still sound like shit. Yeah you like my fedora!? Me too guys!!!
Yeah Right! What R U smoking?
THIS IS THE FUTURE!

SICK!

Paul Rudd is getting good at guitar ..
Totes ma goats!
Amazing!
omg, somewhere in time
ANDY AWESOME!!!! SUBDIVISIONS! RUSH FREAK HERE
On the list of effects, there is one I’ve never heard of. What does an isolator do?
I remember buying this Boss Guitar Synthesizer original unit during the early 90's I think I used it for a bout a week then stored in closet for years till I sold it used for way less than what I pay for it
If you like Rush. get this pedal
I'll bet this could nail VH 1984
6:11 YEAH, that's how you sell a 700$ musical device!
Can the sounds be edited within the unit or do I need to use a computer based editing ap? I prefer something where I can do it all in the unit itself.
Wow! This this thing is totally insane. Fuckin luv it!
5:45 I hear Autobahn.
"Sprawling on the fringes of the city
In geometric order
An insulated border
In-between the bright lights
And the far, unlit unknown"
as good as the pitch factor ? i look for step phaser with harmonics and pitch shift
You're incredible
Why do I remember those days I played TURRICAN in my childhood and let the titlesong repeat instead of running the game? :D

How do I plug the Andy into my effects loop?
Perv ! ;-p
Awesome...Where can we download these patches for Subdivisions?
dang that's cool.
I want this so bad
Andy rules. Fucking amazing I swear.
woohoo!!!! F&^K YAA!!! I miss PGS Demos
Great demo. Someone needs to send one to knobs.
if that intro doesn't push pedals I dint know what will. I wanna do that so badly!
Subdivisions...YESSSSS!!!!!
Can yo please tell me what’s the name of the song played in the beginning of the video?
Does this come with the Oscar Madison doll in original packaging?
Can you use this to trigger synths in your daw?
My neighbours will hate me when I get one of these!
How well does this work with bass??
Works just as well on bass as it does guitar, thanks!
That subdivisions cover was too fucking good
Which pedal should i buy ? The Sy-1 or the SY-300 ? What is the difference ? Which one would you recommend ? I would even use it for electric violin concerts with DJ ...
