Really enjoy you casting games, we get to see different thought processes on each player and what they could have done to have a better game. For example like Ottomans going for Big Ben and having his teammate trade gold to him, or how Khmer wasted his timing push, which inevitably cost him and his teammate the game. Also really like those streams where you're the one casting games, so we can ask questions and chat with you without having you stressed out by the timer/forgetting things. Please cast more games Herson!
This is great! I'd love to see more of this type of content! The 2v2v2v2(v2) ffa games are my personal favorite, and I would love to see you cast more games like this!
I've always wanted to see civ 6 game or tourney of 2v2v2v2v2 but individual. Basically you're allowed to allied only first not already allied player you met, move to separate voice channel and go from there. Yeah, team would not have shared vision and you're not with your bff but you're most likely next to each other and like 5 games would determine best player
Sounds good until AB and DE because they met first, and C is in the middle of all four of them going "uh...." You'd basically need the third party observers to tell them who their partners were because otherwise I guarantee someone is getting caught out like that, and then it's 2v2v2v1v1 and that's kinda horrible. Third party observer telling them the teams on strict rules (closest civs for each 2 person pair, exceptions only if the result is a much longer pair to try and minimize distance). Would also solve the pole polishing of strong players.
@@keithrice39 yeah someone could be screwed and end up with teammate on opposite side of the map but it's still better than only one pair being next to each other But I fully agree with you and @dylanberger8701 on potential of not fun social dynamics
Also, the points given by the council are not calculated all at the same time. I can't remember the specific order, but I vividly remember getting a diplo victory after a council where I should have been at 19 points
Can the observer not use the map search? Going a little crazy here listening to multiple 5-10 minute sequences of speculation about whether or not a wonder has been built yet, entire tangents and narratives that may or may not be totally meaningless, when there appears to be a clear way to literally just check if the wonder is up or not. For the love of god.
The map search feature is bugged when spectating, as spectating isn't actually a feature in Civ 6 and had to be added in by a mod. This makes it a bit scuffed, and the inability to use the search feature is a part of that.
Really enjoyed the casting, it's so cool to see what everyone is doing. Wish the game was a bit higher quality though. I wondered what you had against team games, and... geez, if they're like that I see your problem. Griefing, deliberately throwing, afking, all eight of them failed to even check if the game rules were correct before launching. It'd be different if these were randoms, but apparently these are top teams. What a horrible look for the format. Still, please cast more! It's informative AND trash panda content. I love it.
Worth noting that, when people talk about competitive teamers, they're usually talking about 4v4, not 2v2v2v2. Given that 4v4 has only two teams, the dynamics are completely different and early-game wars become a much more viable strategy. This game is from a three-day long event where several different clans send players to participate in a variety of games consisting of many different game modes and formats. While some of the players in this event are top-level players, there are also a number of casuals and lower-rated players participating as well. CCC is considered a relatively casual event. If you want an accurate view of what competitive teamers has to offer, then CPL Premiere League and Civ World Cup would be more representative events.
@@HersonCiv Thanks for the clarification! I'd love to see some 4v4s, maybe I'll check them out. Even for a casual event though, AFKing during the game is bad. And that's the quality of play you'd probably be seeing if you joined a non-competitive lobby... yes, I see why you prefer FFA. Will be cool to see how Civ 7 and its catchup mechanics influence this.
The optional game modes added in the expansions are virtually never used in CPL games. Not only are the optional game modes unbalanced, they also greatly speed up the overall pace of the game, and players have become accustomed to the current game lengths, where a science victory takes an average of ~110 turns to achieve.
@@rollerskdude It's just more RNG of top of already potentially skewed spawns, and more actions per turn when many already struggle in wars, and generally later in the game.
Its not even just about being courteous, who wants to waste that much of their own time on like a 0.1% chance of getting maybe 1 spot better. Same in chess as you made the analogy. Oftentimes you maybe have some chance of winning if your opponent really fucks up, but most people arent going to bother hoping for that slim chance and waste another 5 minutes of their time or whatever, at least not on a high level.
binge watching herson videos from the first stirrings of life beneath water

Found this super engaging, even more so than your games. Watched the whole thing in one go. The trees did in fact start speaking Vietnamese.

sounds like it will be an exercise in finding the strongest player and pole-polishing him the hardest. not a fun social dynamic tbh

I super enjoyed you spectating this game! the 2v2v2v2 format is also very interesting. I'd appreciate more spectate style vids.
Played with kiber years ago in the early bbg days. Im so proud of him coming this far
You’re the best herson! Can’t wait to see how cpl will shape up with civ 7 incoming
the way herson says barracks ercks me
u not realizing there are no firstmet envoys in teamers is objectively hilarious
You fool - I merely pretended not to know in order to bait you into leaving a comment correcting me, boosting my video in the RUclips algorithm.
Guess I also got had
Winning from a game mode that is suppost to be disabled is fucked whether they readied up or not...
I'd love to see you play some of this
Honestly one of the most satisfying games I could ask for. Fun watch
Dave just went for Mongolia early, and then declared a "Job done" for the rest of the game.
You don't get first meets in teamer, since there are two people who see the city state / wonder / etc at the same time

This is truly one of Hersons casting videos of all time
Surprising how well Vietnam did in this game, if Team 1 was more competent they should have cleaned house here, they had a very strong position.
U should really consider doing more hosting if thats something u liked doing. Very very good video.

The pronunciation of barracks is killing me…other than that great
Also adding a comment for algo. Thx for casting this dramatic game.
Ok but Dave has to be the worst team mate of all time

The Twitch chat was hella spicy for no reason lmao
Do multiplayer games ever use secret societies? Or is it too busted for certain civs (Trajan and void singers or whatever)

Mad respect to Kiber

What settings are used? Are barbs off?
Can someone explain why Vietnam has all their encampments next to each other like that? (Single player not a user of BBG) 1:01:49
their unique encampment gives culture for each adjacent district
can u make more intros like arabia intro?
The Arabia civ spotlight is definitely one of the all-time best intros I've made. I'll take this into consideration
anyone else hear "fartsake" instead of "barksake" or just me
commenting to boost the algorithm
Damn Kiber had a great game
What did Dave do
NVm, you just said why
casting from an actual pro is way better than the(i think) underciv guy
might be even more entertaining than an uncut game from only your perspective
I think you mean onspot tv
I see Herson vid i click, easy. Also comment for algo.
