***** About Venison for Dinner *****
Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. I’m so glad you’re here, I hope you stick around!
We put out a new video every Wednesday morning! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

I love dad baby wearing too! My husband loves baby wearing our daughters. Pretty sure he wears them more than me 😂 we always get comments about how sweet it is to see and how our generation’s dads are so different.
Not my dad thought lol I was a complete daddy’s girl so he was always the one holding me

That big plant is lambs quarter. It’s a “garden weed” and will go everywhere if you let the seeds spread. Can cook and eat it like spinach and chickens love it too!

Can you freeze dry the clabber culture to stabilise it? Freya is a cute Jr. homesteader. 💟

I don't think it would make it work like a freeze dried culture.

You might see if those perennial sunflowers are tuberous and edible, OR actually Jerusalem artichokes. They can be a bit invasive in the south...but were a good food source for my family foraging. Up in Wa state they stayed contained and were a bear to dig tubers in glacial clay we had. But not too difficult in sandy Texas ditches.

@@VenisonforDinner i would have to pull out my medicinals manual. I think multiple parts. It’s been awhile since I had any planted. Evidently, rabbits really like it. I use a lot of chamomile, echinacea, and calendula. Although, chipmunks decimated my chamomile this year. My garden has had a rough year so far because of varmits; but we have eaten a lot of rabbit thks week.
