I remember watching him live in Serie A.. Before making his runs he'd whistle at defenders like a pack of dogs.. as if to say to "come get me" He used his unfair level of talent to entertain himself.. got his kicks from making everyone looking stupid
The undisputed goat. No questions asked. Anyone that has watched that devastating acceleration that creates chances out of literally nothing would agree
Nesta: played against messi, cristiano but for me R9 was even higher. Cannavaro said just the same. Maldini also said R9 is the best and he faced Maradona himself.
Ronaldo pre injury: Age 16/17: 44 goals in 46 matches at Cruzeiro Age 17/18/19: 54 goals in 57 matches at PSV Age 19/20: 47 goals in 49 matches at Barcelona World Cup (pre finals seizure): 6 goals 4 assists in 6 matches for Brazil World Cup Golden Ball Ballon d’Or Just under a goal per game in a much lower scoring era before he even turned 22. Mythical pace and power with all time great goal scoring and dribbling. Comfortably the best player at every age 16-21 (except maybe Pelé. I don’t have his film and I don’t have his stats). I’d have no trouble saying R9 is the best player in football history had he never been injured
To evaluate a player in single year or season,Ronaldo in 97-98(Copa America 1997,first season at Inter, and runner-up 1998 WC), he is best all time, at least best since Deigo Maradona 86-87.
Messi had the longevity like cristiano. But if we talk about the absolute peak level all of them reached. R9 sits on top with a comfortable margin. The best I've ever seen. He did things I never saw before him and some moves even since him. He was unreal. And against better defenders sometimes with man mark.
The point about cristiano being better at purely scoring is a good point i think. It sounds crazy, but anybody that's watched Ronaldo's highlights knows that strong shooting on-the-go was a weak spot for him till the end of his career. If he had a chip shot like messi or could pick a corner and place it there nearly every time like cristiano then he would have had literally 3x as many goals
When I see him in real time, I don’t think he even knew how good he was, I argue that Messi could not take the physicality of 90s football, no way, cr7 would be a good player, but R9 is by far the best prime I’ve seen.
He was a monster at this time before his injury

Yup and it was guys like Maldini Cannavaro and Nesta he was doing it to!!

Messi said R9 is better and regardless of injuries no player alive or dead is better as a player
my best player ever. Messi is only better than him at passing, Cristiano is better at headers, every other thing is debatable.
He scored a lot of good headers even stomach and shoulders lol
Nesta: played against messi, cristiano but for me R9 was even higher. Cannavaro said just the same. Maldini also said R9 is the best and he faced Maradona himself.
Best player ever for me with Messi despite the injury
Messi is better regardless… R9 is miles ahead of cr7
messi isnt better! only in passes
Still the most scariest player in football history
