Bismarck joins IJN KIrishima as another victim of the best USN Battlewagon of WW 2! 9 X 16 " vs 8 x 15 ". Radar vs optics. Washington is not HMS HOOD! Bismarck did have problems, historically, being hit by 16" shells from HMS Rodney. Thanks for sharing , an interesting duel by two great ships.
During WW 2 After the USA entered the War, The USN had considered sending at various times, the USS Alabama, USS Indiana USS South Dakota, USS North Carolina and later, the USS New Jersey & USS Iowa (When these two ships became operational) To deal with KMS Tripitz (SP) Tirpitz, as in similar case to Bismark had 8 15 inch 40 Cal. The South Dakota Class had 9 16 inch 45 (Same as North Carolina Class) and the Iowa Class had 9 16inch 50 Cal. Fortunately we didn't have to do anything because the Royal Air force hit Tripitz with Long Boy (Man? Tom? brain fails me) 12000 Pound Bombs that caused Tripitz to capsize .
I own this game and truly enjoy it. One of the best. But it’s played in this clip like a newbie to the game. No course or speed changes. And as another mentioned, US radar was far superior in a night battle. German optics were better, but not terribly helpful in the DARK if the opposing ship made course and speed changes. By 1942, and there are RUclips videos of this, US radar could watch an 8” shell in flight, see splashes, and adjust fire. And Rodney’s 6 inch guns did serious damage in the real world.
Misinformed, if well-intentioned, comment by packr72. Armament, gunnery control, and many other factors make the Washington no match for the Bismarck. Simply talking about gun size is a very specious approach. Major capital ships have far more significant factors to take into account, as well. The later technical refinements of the Iowa class ship would have made this an interesting match, to be sure (I don't have the time here to explain the quality upgrades from the South Dakota class to the Iowa class). As my uncle, a former Admiral in the US Navy, sagely observed, "thank God Hitler did not have the sense to make ten of such ships." I would encourage at least an initial familiarity with Jane's Fighting Ships. As Socrates wisely commented, "the unexamined life is not worth living".
Washington would have absolutely demolished Bismarck with radar controlled gunfire and far superior armor piecing shells. It would have been entirely lopsided.

BISMARK IS A LOT MORE POWERFUL THAN YOUR SHIP
nonsence washing is more powerful
Bismarck is dead
Washington survived the war
Your point?
Washington has much better shells, better radar and a heavier salvo.
What's your point?
Nonsense, fiction. Washington would never have beaten Bismarck.
Washington’s salvo is 50% heavier. Bismarck would be a wreck.
