I dont know how i came across this brilliant vid as soon as the first second I loved this road Traveling wilh my best man in later years to come. J.C Hope and sons. Gosforth Haulage , Cumbria Titch Spedding in an old Scania 81 . it was always a main route for the ship yard and sellafield . Brilliant vid bringing back brilliant memmories from 1982 ❤
I originally started my HGV driving career in 1981 running all over Europe and the UK. I loved it but it was a different world back then what with T Forms, tank sheins, road permits, coffee money for the gendarmes, the Policia etc. Spent 5 days clearing customs at La Janquera once, 3 days clearing in Congorezzo outside Milan! All good fun!! Watching all your videos brings back some great (and not so great) memories! I particularly loved your videos of the trip to Greece! Please keep the European videos coming if you can, a lot of people do appreciate the time and effort it takes to produce them and from a personal point of view, it is great to see how things are now a days.
Well we are back on T1/T2, ATA carnet etc. we spend hours or even days clearing now which just seems ridiculous to me. Brexit is absolutely killing our country
Good to have you back. Enjoying the videos. Grew up in a road haulage family, and driven lorries for far too many years. I find your straightforward approach refreshing.😎
100 years from now every video like this will proper goldmine of information how normal life was back now. You should record every minute of every trip even if no one is watching now. There's never too much video around. Eventually it will be valued highly.
At 21:05 into the vid. The articulated lorries used to take that rout as a little short cut into Barrow from the garage junction in the dip slightly before the junction coming from the Whitehaven direction . Brilliant Scenery.
I've watched from start too finish all your videos yesterday Peter and you the Best on RUclips I follow Broughtons and Sheridan and Tyke Trucking and one too more but you more Relaxing I can watch you allday mate

Im Heading through in question of myself here. as he heads to silecroft. I wonder if the old petrol station is still there . depending if turning left to Millom or Right towards Muncaster castle . . The parking area layby used to be a truckers layby and where the dridge is there was alvays traffic lights . Also the junction to go over corney fell . you could take a scania tractor unit over. im only 7 mins into watching
