@@mgtowanonymous3120 My lens are not removable (perhaps others are). Besides, my lens are prescription, and I ain't about to even try removing them, too much $ spent on correcting my vision to even try removing the lens.
hi, im getting these in prescription. my question is.. if i get them in prizm will i be able to see on a cloudy day or should i go with the no prizm? also can i wear these in a grocery store or gas station ect.. with them on ? thank you
I really like how much they isolate, but they also make it obvious that my face isn't quite symetrical, the right blockers hugs against my face and the left blockers have a gap. Didn't notice that before, and I put on my other frames (Holbrook XL, Wire Tap 2.0, etc) that the frame arm on the right is closer to my face than the frame on the left... guessing it's my nose, but yea, the Clifden I have to detatch the left blocker to let it swing and hug the left side of my face to be symmetrical.
As a truck driver who drives in all weather conditions along with lots of glare on bright sunny days , I wear these and I've not been disappointed at all they feel great and boy do they make things clear. I own 7 pair of oakley sunglasses and these are my favorite.
I just me a pair of prescription Clifden Oakley's only a few hours ago and hardly notice I'm rockin' them. Clifden Oakley's compliments my fashion signature style handsomely.
Just got the Clifden 24K. Simply awesome! The world looks HD :D This video and the Oakley lab testing video helped me in my decision, so thank you to the whole SportRX team.
Great review! Saw this live yesterday, but all the pics online had the brow piece which I think looked too bulky, so cool to see you guys show that it's removable. Thanks so much!
Hello I was looking to customize a pair of these but this might be a dumb question, I was looking at the preview on my glasses and the inside of the lens is complete red, I obviously won’t be seeing red right?
Great sunglasses as always by Oakley. Been wearing Oakley for about 32 years. Had my eye on them for a while. Got to the ski resort and saw them in black frame with black prism snow lenses, tried them on and bought them. I went ski 🎿 touring in the afternoons in very sunny 😎 conditions and wow they did not disappoint. Very comfortable, felt a bit tight even though I have a small head. But after wearing them a few time the fit got better. Maybe just me. Sun protection awesome and ideal for ski touring and those long uphill battles.
Hi there! PRIZM Snow Black is super dark. The visible light transmission is around 5.5% which is almost twice as dark as the next darkest lens, PRIZM Black. But if you dont mind it being a bit darker and will be in a bright and sunny environment they will offer maximum protection.
Hi - I see that you can get replacement/alternative lens colours for Oakley Clifden frames. Do you know if it is easy enough to pop these lenses in and out?
It's fairly easy to swap out the lenses on the Clifden, but it's best to have a local optician do it for the first time to show how and where to apply pressure to ensure no damage to the frame and/or lenses.
You can swap them but they are not made to be interchanged frequently like half-rim models so doing it repeatedly can damaged the edging on the lenses or frame over time.
Assuming snow lenses are not fit for just drive in regular sun light, is there any other lens options for someone that will use this on a daily basis in a place without snow?
Hi Vladimir! Great question. The Clifden is available with other PRIZM lenses such as Tungsten polarized, 24K polarized, deep water, and shallow water. You can check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html Thanks for reaching out!
will i damage or break the side shields by snapping them and unsnapping to fold the glasses when i take them off to put them in the case ? i love my oakley clifden sunglasses ❤ and i wear them everyday for running, bike ride, or anything.
Hi there! No, the side shields should be just fine. They are made to snap in and out. Thanks for reaching out and we are happy to hear you love your glasses!
Hi there! I figure this may be due to the side shields and bridge blocker not allowing tons of ventilation. Have you tried removing them when you are running? Feel free to contact our certified opticians for more fog troubleshooting: www.sportrx.com/contact Thanks for reaching out!
Hey guys. Great video. I really like the Clifdens. They're the first Oakleys that fit my face properly, and I always wanted side shields that give that goggles look, but not in a goofy way. If you know what I mean. I'm really excited about these! So excited I'm thinking about getting them custom made. With that said, I really like the ones you guys have at frame 1:04. Could you please tell me what kind of lenses those be rockin'? They look like Tungston, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks!
Hey guys, thanks for this review. Awesome job! A little question, which lenses would be better for mountaneering and alpinism? The black prizm polarized or the prizm snow black iridium?
I would recommend the Prizm Snow Black because that is the darkest lens Oakley offers at 5.5%. It must be noted that you are not supposed to drive with such a dark tint because it cuts so much light that they can be considered unsafe for driving.
I had the X Metal Mars Leather edition and man they were cool. Why did I sell them to a friend back then as now they would’ve been amazing. A plastic reboot of those would be awesome and the X Metal range got a bit heavy on my nose after a few hours but were great quality and I agree with your comment about the peak of their design era
I've ordered these olive green from SmartBuyGlasses but they've allready taken an entire month just to stock them... Do you guys know if this Oakley model 944004 is still in production or high demand? And do these come out of California or China? Thanks in advance!
Hey there, hopefully you've had this resolved by this point, but there doesn't seem to be any issues with ordering The Clifdon on our end. All I will say about SmartBuyGlasses, is that the customer reviews suggest many people have had issues with long wait times for their orders and have had issues with customer service not being the best. Next time maybe give SportRx a try😉
Hello i am really interested in these glasses I am an arborist and am constantly getting saw dust in the eyes ... Are these glasses CSA approved?? ANSI/ISEA Z87.??

The Clifden is versatile and can be used for many activities outside of mountaineering. hey guys ! i was wondering im planning to hike to Appalachian Trail and i was wondering wich PRIZM lense would be the best one because we can either be at the top of moutains with huge sun, A LOT of rainy days(normally) and a lot in the woods (obvisously) so there would be a lot of shady areas so what's could be the best ?! thanks you !!
Hi William! Sounds like you have quite the adventure ahead of you! Are you set on the Clifden? You can scope out all the PRIZM lens options for the Clifden here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html There are polar and non-polarized options and if you don't know which to choose this video may be helpful: ruclips.net/video/fpY_-RpAZ98/видео.html You can also check out our PRIZM Guide here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/ If this doesn't clear much up to you then you can always contact one of our certified opticians for more help: www.sportrx.com/contact
Hi I'm looking to buy these and am wondering what makes the 24k lens different from their usual prizm polarized lenses? Also what lens are on Andrew's frame?
Hi there! If you are talking non-PRIZM 24K vs. PRIZM polarized, the difference is glare reduction and contrast enhancement. However if you are comparing PRIZM 24k to PRIZM polarized, the difference is glare reduction. PRIZM manages color and polarization cuts glare. Hope this answers your question! Andrew is wearing the Clifden in Matte translucent blue with PRIZM deep water polarized lenses. You can check that frame out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html and you can learn more about PRIZM here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/ Thanks for tuning in!
Hey, the video was very informative! I was hoping if these come in a smaller size? I think the ones you guys have are standard, and they definitely will look way to big on me. Thanks!
Hey guys. Little question. Im deciding between the Clifden Definition edition (prizm black lenses with 11% visible light) or the Prizm Snow Black Iridium (5.5%). The ones that you guys are calling snow black iridium looks different from the ones that I see online (black frame with red/wine lenses). What would you suggest? I use it more for trekking, daily use and beach use. I have green eyes, so the sun is shitty for me. Does it makes a lot of difference between 11% and 5.5%? Also, the snow black iridium, does it look red when you use it (outside and inside)? Is it only for snow use? Im lost!
Hi there! Great question! The wine/rose color of the PRIZM Snow Black lens is the rose base tint showing through the lens a bit. This increases contrast and helps you pick up on details in a snowy environment. You don't see it in the PRIZM Black lenses because they have a grey base but you still get a decent contrast boost there. The PRIZM Black lenses should be totally sufficient for your needs and if you want extra protection we would recommend getting PRIZM Black polarized because the polarized filter will help cut glare which is especially ideal when you are around water. PRIZM Snow Black is not offered as a polarized lens. I sure hope this helps you narrow don your selection! If you have any additional questions you can always reach out to our certified opticians here: www.sportrx.com/contact
Thank you guys for the review. I'm looking for a new pair of oakleys for my backcountry skiing and I don't like goggles because of fogging during my accents. I wonder if the Klifden performs better in that area?!
Hi there! These sunglasses can be used for skiing, especially with those PRIZM Snow lens options but I cannot guarantee that they won't fog because if you wear the bridge blocker and side shields there is a not a lot of room for ventilation.
Hi there! They are not ANSI stamped, although they could probably meet a lot of safety requirements. We can make custom polycarbonate lenses with a yellow tint for these though! Check out our Oakley safety glasses guide if you need a frame that has the ANSI stamp of approval: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-safety-glasses-ansi-collection/
Unfortunately, Oakley does not offer photochromic plano (non Rx) lenses for the Clifden frame. But SportRx can craft a custom photochromic lens in prescription for the Clifden!
Thank you for the review! It gave me a much better understanding of the size of the Oakley Clifdens. The Oakley's website doesn't have photos of actual people wearing the glasses.
Hi there! It is a detachable leash meant to help retain your sunglasses. It also serves as a nice way to keep them around your neck without having to hold them if you head indoors.
You are correct! That is the matte translucent blue with PRIZM Deep Water Polarized. But it is also available in matte black with PRIZM Snow Sapphire. Check it out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Hey Oliver! The Oakley Clifden has an SFW of 134mm making it a men's medium BUT you can take advantage of our test ride program that allows you to try on the frame before you buy! www.sportrx.com/test-run
Sorry to neglect that! Truth is - color options from Oakley regularly change and some can be discontinued. Beyond that, we would be able to best assist you by knowing what your intended use is for the glasses/lenses. We can get you set up with the perfect pair of you give us a call and allow our friendly, knowledgeable opticians to give you more tailored assistance at 888-831-5817. We’d love to hear from you!
Hi Cliff! It is easiest to apply some pressure to the very end of the temple arm(grey part) towards the inside of the frame or use your fingernail to pry it up. From there, you can loop around the nylon loop on the end of the leash and snap it back into place. Give us a call if you need some more help! www.sportrx.com/contact
If dust/sand kickup is a concern then most definitely! The side shields will help keep out dust and debris from entering the eyes (as well as harsh bright light), which can also be removed for added ventilation. Fogging could be a concern depending on the temperature and/or activity for which you're wearing the frames, but an applied AntiFog coating should help combat this problem. Thanks for watching!
Hi there! Many PRIZM lenses have an iridium coating which acts as a mirror. When we are shooting in the studio it is a bit hard to get the full effect of the mirror since we are not out in the sun. We have a full PRIZM lens guide you can check out here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/
Love my Clifdens. I have a deviated septum and the nose bridge is wide and the side blockers aliviates the weight of the glasses. I work outdoors and these block bright sun light with now fogging. My question is, are the lenses removable for swaps?
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! You can remove the lenses but the frame design is not made to swap lenses on a regular basis. Over time it could wear on the edging of the lens. Hope this helps!
What would your thoughts be about using these as daily prescription glasses maybe with a slight tint. I don’t mean daily sunglasses but daily frames for nearsighted folk. Thanks and nice vid!
Thanks for the love! We can definitely get you set up with some nice everyday lenses. Grab a copy of your rx and contact one of our certified opticians here: www.sportrx.com/contact
They can work for snowboarding, especially with some of those PRIZM Snow lens options! Although the one drawback may be fogging if you happen to heat up.
The Clifden is very versatile and can work on the MTB. The only downside we see would be a lack of peripheral vision if you have the side shields intact.
Hi there! They can be used for casual wear too! The side shields and bridge blocker are all easily removable and they come in a variety of PRIZM lenses you can check out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Nice review guys! I'm a falconer and watching birds constantly. In general, I've found sunglasses to inhibit my vision and make it more difficult to identify birds from a distance though I am out in nature and sun so often that I cannot be without sunglasses. Do you think these might be better than the average sunglasses when viewing wildlife/birds? if so, which color lens would be best? thanks for any recommendations; I sure dig the style of these so I hope they will be what I'm looking for
Hi Rob! Oakley PRIZM lenses make everything in your environment POP with color so details are easier to see. I imagine this would make spotting wildlife easier since that takes a special attention to detail. The Clifden with PRIZM Tungsten Polarized lenses is what we would recommend! Check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html and you can learn more about PRIZM here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/
Last pair I bought were the flak 2.0 xl deep water polarized. Those were worth the 265 cdn. These look cheap almost zero type Frame and lense. Oakley needs to bring back the zeros from 96-97era . Amazing glasses.
Hi Austin! Tyler is wearing the matte olive with PRIZM Tungsten polarized lenses colorway! You can check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Hi Damien! We sell prescription lenses for the Clifden at SportRX! However, if you need non-rx there are alternate places online where you may be able to find those.
You can run in the Oakley Clifden but if you use the bridge blocker and side shields you may run the risk of the sunglasses fogging up if you happen to really start sweating.
Hi Ricardo! That is correct. All these Oakley PRIZM lenses have an 'iridium', aka mirror coating. You can check it out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
honestly that attachable leash should be available on all sport frames. Take it from a guy that had his $206 shades knocked off by a vagrant before i went hands on. All security and LE would like that option maybe in a strong thin paracord option.
Ever since Oakley got bought out by lux the styles got very generic and didn’t really push any sort of boundaries. Felt like Oakley was just going stagnant and not really innovating, but more recently I feel Oakley is going back to its roots and pushing the boundaries of innovation. I hope this push continues forward!
Hi there! Tyler is wearing the Persol 3142 V. It has been discontinued at this point but you can always contact one of our opticians to help you find similar style frames: www.sportrx.com/contact Thanks for reaching out!
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks a lot! Another question, is there a way to combine the frames/lenses differently? I'd love the deep water Prizm lenses but not with the blue frames.
The Clifden is more of a M-L fit. They can fit larger heads but if you have a super big head you should check out some of the frames on this list: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-sunglasses-for-big-heads/
They are good at preventing migraines caused by glare! Especially if you get polarized lenses. A polarized lens will filter out glare much more efficiently than a non-polarized lens.

Just got a pair of sapphire snow. Very excited about how they look, feel, and perform.
Hi thanks for the amazing review!!! Really considering picking these up but I had a question 🙋♂️: I was wondering what standard size Oakley would be, I’m a size 55 and fit the Oakley apparitions and will these be the same size??? I don’t wanna commit before purchasing it. Can you please help! Thanks again. 🙏
Hi there! Great question! The Clifden are more of a medium fit. If you have a 55 eyesize then the Clifden should be a solid fit.
@@sportrxeyewear wow thanks for responding really appreciate the clarification!
Hi. Great video.
For prescription glasses... They keep the % of light filtered? Are they still polarized?
Hi there! The visible light transmission depends on which PRIZM lens you choose. Oakley PRIZM Polarized IS available in prescription! Grab a copy of your rx and contact one of our certified opticians today: www.sportrx.com/contact
hey guys ! i was wondering im planning to hike to Appalachian Trail and i was wondering wich PRIZM lense would be the best one because we can either be at the top of moutains with huge sun, A LOT of rainy days(normally) and a lot in the woods (obvisously) so there would be a lot of shady areas so what's could be the best ?! thanks you !!
I want to use these as saftey glasses are these ansi or OSHA approved and can I get polycarbonate lenses ? With a slight yellow tint
Are these glasses available with photochromic lenses?
Unfortunately, Oakley does not offer photochromic plano (non Rx) lenses for the Clifden frame. But SportRx can craft a custom photochromic lens in prescription for the Clifden!
Closest modern Oakley to the Mars style
Thank you for the review! It gave me a much better understanding of the size of the Oakley Clifdens. The Oakley's website doesn't have photos of actual people wearing the glasses.
You are very welcome, Michael! And glad you found it helpful. Thanks for tuning in!
Hi guys, are the Tungsten model lenses mirrored or just brown colored?
Hi there! PRIZM Tungsten has an iridium (mirror) coating. It is difficult to tell in this video but under sunlight the mirror becomes more visible.
Can I use these for fishing? Looks great.
what is the silver string on the back for ?
this is my first pair of sunglasses that i ordered 🐨
Hi there! It is a detachable leash meant to help retain your sunglasses. It also serves as a nice way to keep them around your neck without having to hold them if you head indoors.
@@sportrxeyewear thank you sir. i appreciate your help 🐨
What are the blue LENz you are showing? Blue/Prizm Deep Water Polerized?
You are correct! That is the matte translucent blue with PRIZM Deep Water Polarized. But it is also available in matte black with PRIZM Snow Sapphire. Check it out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
My Clifden’s are on the way! Watch for UPS and the front door making sure no one runs off with them.
What are the dimensions to this? Couldnt find it online and would like to know before stepping into a oakley store. Thanks in advance!
Hi Phil! We have dimensions on our site here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html Hope this helps!
Are these ok for a small face?
Hey Oliver! The Oakley Clifden has an SFW of 134mm making it a men's medium BUT you can take advantage of our test ride program that allows you to try on the frame before you buy!

I really want to pull the trigger on the Clifdens but I am confused about the lens color options. You guys didn't talk enough about that.
Hi , is there a tutorial on how to put on the leash? I am sure it simple once you know how, but right now, I don't know how
Hey, guys, I would like to ask you, are those sunglasses suitable for desert conditions?
If dust/sand kickup is a concern then most definitely! The side shields will help keep out dust and debris from entering the eyes (as well as harsh bright light), which can also be removed for added ventilation. Fogging could be a concern depending on the temperature and/or activity for which you're wearing the frames, but an applied AntiFog coating should help combat this problem. Thanks for watching!
Do prizm lenses come in a mirrored version? It seems with these lenses ones eyes show throw them.
I wonder if I can get these prescribed for my vision.
You can! Grab your rx and contact one of our certified opticians to see how you can get custom rx Clifdens today: www.sportrx.com/contact
What would be the highest prescription for this frame? I mean, regarding the lens' thickness
Can these can be used as lifestyle shades
Yes they can!
Would this be good for snowmobiling, I use it everyday for work
They can work for snowboarding, especially with some of those PRIZM Snow lens options! Although the one drawback may be fogging if you happen to heat up.
Was thinking about using these as motorcycle glasses what are your thoughts?
They can definitely work for motorcycle use. The side shields and bridge blocker will definitely help keep wind out!
@@sportrxeyewear What tint would be best for nighttime use if I had absolutely no other option and forgot my night time glasses at home or something.
Can you get these with clear prescription lenses ?
Yes, contact one of our certified opticians and they can assist you in creating a custom Rx Clifden: www.sportrx.com/contact
Hi i have an important question,. Can the lens be replaced as rx?
Yes it can! You can build a custom rx Clifden here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
I got a 24k! Excellent glasses, will 24k still be alright for snow?
Great to hear! And yes, PRIZM 24K can still work in snow-let us know how they work out for you!
I really fancy these for mountain biking... I don't like the look of normal MTB frames. Any thoughts?
The Clifden is very versatile and can work on the MTB. The only downside we see would be a lack of peripheral vision if you have the side shields intact.
Which frame is all black? And all of the lenses have color?
Hi there! I am not sure if I understand your question but you can check out the colorways of the Clifden here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Can these be used for casual glasses or will they be too dark?
Hi there! They can be used for casual wear too! The side shields and bridge blocker are all easily removable and they come in a variety of PRIZM lenses you can check out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Would they work for road cycling?
Hi Ricardo! They definitely could! You can check out our top road picks here: www.sportrx.com/blog/best-oakley-cycling-sunglasses/
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks for your reply!
Do they fog? Not a Vegas summer pair. ???
Yes, the side shields and bridge blocker do increase the chance of fogging.
Are they good against wind
Yes! The Clifden is excellent at blocking wind, dust, and debris
👉 www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html 🔥
Are they too dark for cloudy days in the mountains ?
The PRIZM Snow Black would be a bit dark for those conditions.
We loved those Oakley Zero frames as well!
What colour / lens combination is Tyler wearing? They’re too cool??
Hi Austin! Tyler is wearing the matte olive with PRIZM Tungsten polarized lenses colorway! You can check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
I love Clifton style man it's all me !!! All day
Do they have category 4 for mercenary ?
No, not yet.
Can you change the lenses out?
Yes you can swap lenses on the Clifden. However, it is not an interchangeable sunglass so the edges of the lenses may wear down over time.
Where may I purchase a new pair of lens?
Hi Damien! We sell prescription lenses for the Clifden at SportRX! However, if you need non-rx there are alternate places online where you may be able to find those.
OMG!! I need one of thoes!!! I have fotosensivity!! The ligh dont let me see this ones are perfect for me
Yeah you do! Check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Why oh why did they not make these ANSI stamped....
what is the size of the lens?
H: 51.1 mm, W: 56 mm. You can see full frame dimensions here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
can you use these for running?
You can run in the Oakley Clifden but if you use the bridge blocker and side shields you may run the risk of the sunglasses fogging up if you happen to really start sweating.
Are these ANSI Z-87.1 rated?
No, they are not.
Would these be good for snowmobiling??
Hi Oscar! Yes, the would be. Check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
Can I remove nose pads for bigger ? If yes ,can anyone recommend any ? Thx
Hi Darek-the nosepads are removeable. However, we do not have access to larger nosepads for this model.
Nice set of suns
Great Tints too 😎
All models lenses are mirrored?
Good point! It really helps with frame retention.
EXACTLY! The Oakley Clifden is disruptive by design. We are glad you are hyped on it!
Which frame is Tyler wearing?
Hi there! Tyler is wearing the Persol 3142 V. It has been discontinued at this point but you can always contact one of our opticians to help you find similar style frames: www.sportrx.com/contact Thanks for reaching out!
Are there smaller size of Clifdens for women?
Hi Felix! There is only one size of the Clifden so far. You can see measurements here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-clifden.html
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks a lot! Another question, is there a way to combine the frames/lenses differently? I'd love the deep water Prizm lenses but not with the blue frames.
These good for big head?
The Clifden is more of a M-L fit. They can fit larger heads but if you have a super big head you should check out some of the frames on this list: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-sunglasses-for-big-heads/
Are they good for migraines?
They are good at preventing migraines caused by glare! Especially if you get polarized lenses. A polarized lens will filter out glare much more efficiently than a non-polarized lens.
He'll yeah ..thank you for the review ..I need a two in my life..
