Just ordered my pair, came back and finished the video. I’ve been looking for a pair of old school looking safety style glasses to wear on the Harley and at work. Can’t wait to get them!
Just got mine - absolutely in love! They fit great and the shields + bridge are great at preventing air/sun getting in through the sides. Also thanks for this review! Had absolutely no idea how to remove the headstrap lol
Thank you for your video 🤙 first i would like to say I love my custom Clifdens, but they did not come with a case. I bought a custom pair of root beer frames with 24k lenses limited edition. After about a month my side shield broke off one side. I tried finding replacements for it on the Oakley website but had no luck. I contacted their support but all they said was they were guaranteed for two years and I could put a claim in and you could only do it from a computer not a mobile device. Very unfortunate 😞 especially for how much I love them and they are my favorite pair of Oakleys so far ( not to mention they were expensive) but anyway i don’t care about a claim, just think they should sell replacement parts on their website. I had to buy replacement side shields on eBay. Thinking of buying another pair in a different color anyway. Thanks again for your video. After watching I learned how to remove the other shield and broken piece of old shield so I can reinstall the new ones.
Hey there, pls confirm if it’s the “Prizm Snow Black Iridium Lenses, Matte Black Frame” .. thanks foe the review! I love it and I wanted to be sure before getting here pairs
I've really been struggling with photosensitivity and I'm finally at the age where invincible youth is wearing off at 26 So I was really bummed about having to wear "obvious medical" sunglasses especially on the water and pavement and snow. I totally just ordered these custom. They have kind of a nice almost mad maxy look to them so may be different to most street wear stuff. But man they do look sharp and if I had to choose this or traditional blinders I'd take these in a heartbeat. Thanks oakley for real. I'll start popping reviews on how they help with photophobia (basically eyes oversensitive to light as migraine and motion sickness issue) once I get them, but the shields certainly look like they'll do the trick
Are yours mirrored? Do you mind me asking how you customized them (what colors did you get?)? I'm in my 20s and need glasses like these for photophobia, but I'm scared I'll stand out like a sore thumb wearing them in the city and indoors. I need the fashion confidence lol.
I have a scratched cornea and suffer from intense light sensitivity and impaired vision from coupling it with hereditary dry eyes and ontop of it. So the side blinders are freaking great. I'm 28yr old. The kicker is I have 20/24 vision when they work LOL
Lukas Buck I just purchased a pair of these to help with my watery eyes due to Dry eye disease, so far they have helped in keeping the wind out of my eyes and hence reducing the wateriness I suffer when out in cold wind.
Hello ,since clifden s are available only in One universal size ,can I make them smaller buy using accessory nose pads ? If yes can you recommend any ,coz they have bridge in size 17 ,I need 12 , thx 🙏
Wonder of those are good for backcountry skiing which includes harsh sweaty ascent that goggles simply don't work because of fogging during the ascent. Would those cause fogging when face is hot and sweaty!!!
Just received a pair of these today, i like them but what i don't love is that the lenses you mentioned weren't made available nor the hardened case. All i got was the micro fibre bag. For what i spent for them i would have thought it would be included.
when you order replacement parts they are labeled as trim __&trim__ I have no clue what trim 1 and 3 are but I hope that one of them is the bridge blocker
Indeed, too dark. I only use category 4 for snow and sun, or maybe navigatintg. In fact is not allowed to drive wearing them, at least in my country (spain)
Forgot to mention - thanks for the lesson on installing the leash. No instructions came with the glasses and I probably would of ended up breaking them trying to install it.
Hi - I see that you can get replacement/alternative lens colours for Oakley Clifden frames. Do you know if it is easy enough to pop these lenses in and out?
Depends on how dark you want the lenses to be. The Red torch is a cool looking color but the black iridium will be much darker so better for brighter days.
I reckon if the ends of the leash were woven steel they’d rub on the ends of the glasses and cause a lot of wear there. I know I’d rather replace the leash than replace the glasses.
Where are you buying your glasses? Go into ANY Oakley store. Most of their frames DO NOT come in a case. Maybe you're buying fakes, because academy and eye doctors both sell the real deal. I've owned roughly 10 pairs, all bought from the oakley store, and with the exception of the sliver f and my flak jackets, none of them have come in a case. All the knock offs sold online do though
Glare is polarized. Snowboarders don’t want polarized cause you can’t see screens. You do in fact want protection from uv rays that’s what damages ur retina not “glare”
I also wear sunglasses instead of goggles when boarding, in sunny/good weather days. I wear goggles only in harsh weather, but i don't like the restricted peripheral visibility of full size goggles
Most models will be if they aren't wires or acetate. The Polarized options will be labeled as Assembled in USA since the Japanese polarization filter prevents it from being 100% USA made.
So idk who told you polarization comes from Japan. Polarization is just a layer they place in the lense when they are injection molding the lenses. To answer ur question. Oakley parts are manufactured in China or Taiwan and assembled in USA. That’s how they get away with saying made in USA
Japanese made most likely contain titanium because that’s where the material is sourced. You probably have a probably have titanium frames. Just because they are polarized doesn’t have anything to do with Japan. That’s titanium
Also dann ur far off acetate frames also have nothing to do with location. Acetate is a plant based material used to get different colors in more fashion frames. Oakley’s are made of nylon which is extremely durable. They put stickers over top to create the wood grain effect etc. when it comes to Oakley’s with different colors. They would never do acetate
Luxottica has completely gutted this company and turned it into a shell of what it used to be just so they can have a bigger profit. If you loved Oakley before Luxottica you'll hate it now.
The leash is useless, it gets caught in your gear like backpack. The side shield are ok but they get in the way if you are trying to clean the lenses. the bridge blocker tends to fall off, pretty annoying. I have used these for a year and wish I never bought them I like the look but for real use in the southwest desert, pretty useless.
Ahhhh... so that's how to connect the Cord/Leash to the Clifden Frames. Thank You, for the educational video. Really love these.
Thanks for the support.
Just ordered my pair, came back and finished the video. I’ve been looking for a pair of old school looking safety style glasses to wear on the Harley and at work. Can’t wait to get them!
Get dark matt blk frames ,with snow blk lenses, talk about dark...WOW!
Dude I’m sold on these glad to see you showed how they look worn, been looking for some round/mirror lens type of sunglasses!
Just got mine - absolutely in love! They fit great and the shields + bridge are great at preventing air/sun getting in through the sides. Also thanks for this review! Had absolutely no idea how to remove the headstrap lol
Are they too dark to ride a bike?
Same here had no idea till i saw video
Excellent review and production values. Thank You very much-greatly appreciated!!
Thank you for the support.
This was super helpful! Oakley’s website needs to use your video! They don’t have one, definitely needed a intro to these high tek glasses. Thank you!
these are only the 2nd pair of Oakley I've found that can keep the wind out of your eyes on a motorcycle. (without a windshield). I love these!
This is awesome, I just had it last week and go out for mountain biking, works perfectly on me
Just got mine ,love them!
Thank you for this thorough, detailed, & practical review.
Love these. I love the side shields on these

Bought me a pair of this color lens combo and the snow torch lens combo!!!! Thanks for review
any problems with the lenses fogging up ?
Im using mine open face helmet. No more wind blowing too much on the eye. They look badass as well
The nylon on the leash is probably for safety, its designed to break if the glasses are snatched off your face.
I just bought a pair and loving them for biking/hiking.
TY for the video. Great looking shades!!!!
Great review, been looking at them for awhile!👍🏻
Do they make the snow black iridium in prescription on these frames?
Just bought them in iridium black polarized love them definitely different which is what I like.
Are the prizm snow black polarized?
Man I just picked these up in 24k lenses. Just amazing and comfortable
Would these be good for the oilfield work?
Hey there, pls confirm if it’s the “Prizm Snow Black Iridium Lenses,
Matte Black Frame” .. thanks foe the review! I love it and I wanted to be sure before getting here pairs
Well did you get them ? And are they good ?

You're talking like you're 80 years old, mate. You're still very young.
Are yours mirrored? Do you mind me asking how you customized them (what colors did you get?)? I'm in my 20s and need glasses like these for photophobia, but I'm scared I'll stand out like a sore thumb wearing them in the city and indoors. I need the fashion confidence lol.

thank youuuuu FOR YOUR REVIEW I also have photofobia and im thinking of buying these cause theyre RED tinted
the PRIZM SNOW SAPPHIRE are MIRRORED. these ones arent! so idk if I should choose the mirrored for my PHOTOFOBIA OR THESE NORMAL PRISM SNOW BLACKKK
I was thinking about buying these for bad eye allergies, do you think these would be a good purchase?
Lukas Buck I just purchased a pair of these to help with my watery eyes due to Dry eye disease, so far they have helped in keeping the wind out of my eyes and hence reducing the wateriness I suffer when out in cold wind.
Did the side shields broke on yours? It’s the second one I have to replace them
No, I have three of them and they are all fine.
Would these be decent at keeping out any dirt or dust or sand on a desert hike with the side shields and nose Bridge in?
Which size is this one ? Lens size?
I don´t know a lot about sunglasses, and these sunglasses come in different lenses. I was wondering which lens is best for driving and normal use?
Anything other than snow black.
From the outside, does the mirror look silver, or red? Before you put them on they looked red?
Hello ,since clifden s are available only in One universal size ,can I make them smaller buy using accessory nose pads ? If yes can you recommend any ,coz they have bridge in size 17 ,I need 12 , thx 🙏
ARE THESE THE Prizm Snow Black Iridium Lenses,
Matte Black Frame ??????????
Wonder of those are good for backcountry skiing which includes harsh sweaty ascent that goggles simply don't work because of fogging during the ascent. Would those cause fogging when face is hot and sweaty!!!
Is it a Oakley Clifden Prizm Snow Black Iridium ?
Just received a pair of these today, i like them but what i don't love is that the lenses you mentioned weren't made available nor the hardened case. All i got was the micro fibre bag. For what i spent for them i would have thought it would be included.
I got a hardened case with mine.
I have a wide head and like to get frames that are a little wide. Are these wider than normal?
Looks good. Finally got to try one on the other day. I'll definitely grab one at some point.
Great review. I didn’t realize the awesomeness
Thanks. Yeah they are pretty awesome!!
Awesome review. After seeing this review, I am going to buy a clifden.
Good to hear, I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.
Thank you man, great review. Do you recomend them to ride a motorcycle?
Just bought these for JetSki riding to keep the wind out. This weekend i'll be testing
Great, let us know how they worked for you.
Looks like the modern version of Julbo Vermont Classic 👌
Are they good in Marine times ? Can you see red and green color true them ?
do they make prizm snow black iridium in polarized?
Great review thanks just going to order them now.
Are these still functioning? I’ve heard people say the shields break almost immediately.
They break if you fold the glasses before unsnapping the side shields.
Great review
when you order replacement parts they are labeled as trim __&trim__
I have no clue what trim 1 and 3 are but I hope that one of them is the bridge blocker
That type of lenses can be used also in urban situations?
Are they polarized?
These are not but they do have polarized options
Is category 4 too dark for everyday use ?
Indeed, too dark. I only use category 4 for snow and sun, or maybe navigatintg. In fact is not allowed to drive wearing them, at least in my country (spain)
Great review for the Clifden glasses. How did you get the dark polarized lenses?
Looking at getting these in the limited edition 24k.
THERE NOT LIMITED EDITION ANYMORE THE ASSHOLES BAITED US!! IS THAT DISGUSTING OR WHAT!?!?!?
@@mgtowanonymous3120 damnnnnnnnnnnn
@@mgtowanonymous3120 that’s why I never go for limited edition haha
Did you get those from 'Santa'?
Forgot to mention - thanks for the lesson on installing the leash. No instructions came with the glasses and I probably would of ended up breaking them trying to install it.
I wonder if someone sell leather patches that you can mount on the glasses on the middle of the frame as sun protection for your nose.
Revo sunglasses have cheap frames. Are the Oakley frames better the revos frames?
why arent they polarized?
Those are badass do you know it they come in multicam black?
I don’t believe they do but they are fairly new so who knows, maybe Oakley will make that an option, maybe in their custom line
@@eyespy0099 my hands are bound behind my back and my glasses have slipped down my nose. What do you recommend for getting my glasses back up my nose?
Hi - I see that you can get replacement/alternative lens colours for Oakley Clifden frames. Do you know if it is easy enough to pop these lenses in and out?
Thanks man, very thorough
Dope frame def grabbing these 🔥
Closest thing to the oakley mars
I don't know, I think the Oakley Tailend is more Mars-like.... more circular lenses.
Can’t decide between the black iridium or the red torch color
Depends on how dark you want the lenses to be. The Red torch is a cool looking color but the black iridium will be much darker so better for brighter days.
I bought these glasses on the Oakley website. They did not come with a hardshell case. :-(
Its like 30 bucks extra
Just got these....excellent glasses
Thank You.
Hellsing fans anyone?
My neck strap / line got rust in about 2 months using ?!
I reckon if the ends of the leash were woven steel they’d rub on the ends of the glasses and cause a lot of wear there.
I know I’d rather replace the leash than replace the glasses.
There hasn't been a single pair of Oakley's I've purchased that didn't come in a case and most are that exact case. I own 7 pairs
InkwellFoto Oakley don’t normally come in a case some pairs do. The pairs you bought must have came with one.
Every pair of Oakley's I have ordered have came with a case, the only ones that don't are the ones I've bought from academy or from a eye clinic.
Where are you buying your glasses? Go into ANY Oakley store. Most of their frames DO NOT come in a case. Maybe you're buying fakes, because academy and eye doctors both sell the real deal. Ive bought atleast 5 pairs never came with one...
Got one today - Prizm Deep water Polarized
Glare is polarized. Snowboarders don’t want polarized cause you can’t see screens. You do in fact want protection from uv rays that’s what damages ur retina not “glare”

Almost as cool as the Oakley Madman! But seriously, these are cool too...
Great review thank you! Subbed!!
These glasses, and those like them, make wonderful raccoon suntan lines. 🦝
So Clean.
Just bought some. These are the type of shades that every one of your buddies will make fun of while simultaneously loving them. Bad A55.
lolol bro, that happened with everyone i know. they say they are ugly, then put them on and love em.
So cool.
Made in USA?
Cris Yorke lol

I'm about to blow up in my new Clifden Oakley's any week now.
Why not switch to RayBan?
maybe a wearer can do something to those loops so that they are more stronger/durable
Good job bro
awesome looking sunglasses thanks for sharing..
They look like pit vipers "the rubbers". I have a pair, the shields are permanent and always in place
Similar to these - the shields can be fixed in place by clipping them into the frame.
Lookin' good - on me, that is!
Absolutely amazes me that you can waffle on for 14 minutes . Likely your the type that can write a novel on what’s inside a ping pong ball
Does anybody know any look alikes
the leash would probably be more for the security of the sunglasses
Luxottica has completely gutted this company and turned it into a shell of what it used to be just so they can have a bigger profit.
If you loved Oakley before Luxottica you'll hate it now.
Huh? What’s wrong now?
I've seen this same comment word for word on other Oakley reviews. Trolling hard lol don't like it? Don't buy it. Simple as that.
Those are nice
These aren’t the fanciest or “coolest” but these look good for the work I do outside. Wonder how they do with fogging up.
Every time he would say microfiber I thought he was saying microwave
those glasses are hot
You only get the case if you order direct from Oakley otherwise you just get the micro fiber bag which is sad
The leash is useless, it gets caught in your gear like backpack. The side shield are ok but they get in the way if you are trying to clean the lenses. the bridge blocker tends to fall off, pretty annoying. I have used these for a year and wish I never bought them I like the look but for real use in the southwest desert, pretty useless.
the ocean claimed my jawbones :( Found these as a somewhat suitable replacement (Jawbones are obsolete, except for EBAY)
They still make the Jawbone. They now call it the Racing Jacket due to a lawsuit from the Jawbone headphones company.
