I figured these wouldn't work with the cycling as it does impede your vision, I have Oakley Sutro and these are the only sunglasses I use when riding cause they are literally perfect. Looking at getting these for when I am doing wildlife photography/out in nature hikes
Thanks for the review. I've been thinking to get one of this for gravel cycling. I've been using sutro, its good for road cycling, not so much for dusty gravel. Aesthetically this is also perfect for me, i want that kinda steampunk look 🤣.
thanks for watching! i think the sutros are still better funtionally for gravle but can't go past that steam punk look. They have been popping up on sale recently. Did you end up buying a pair?
I ordered these ones using the 50% discount sale they're having. I'm only getting them because I think they look cool. They remind me of Dr. Eggman's glasses from the new Sonic movies. I got them in the same colour scheme too lol
I like the look of these, particularly the custom options with the light blue frame and red/orange lenses. I was wondering how they'd work for mountain biking, but I'm probably better off just wearing my goggles or regular sunglasses. I have some Oakley rx glasses, and the arms on them make it so they pretty much don't work at all with a lot of helmets or hats. I had to put an extra thick pad in the top of my skateboarding helmet to lift it up a couple mm in order to keep it from interfering with my glasses, and when I wear a toque with them, the toque will push the frames forward and down my nose, again because of the stupid arms. I bet these are great for their intended purpose of mountaineering, as long as you don't also need a warm hat that covers your ears.
Great comment! They definitely don’t work as well as other Oakley glades with MTB specific PRIZM lenses and a wider field of view. Surprisingly they were ‘ok’ with a beanie in the mountains, the beanie didn’t push on the arms enough to be a bother with the fit. Hope you find that ideal set of glasses your after ✌️
I have to agree with your misses sorry.. they look like Willy Wonka glasses ha. Do any of you wear photochromic sunglasses? Could be handy to just have one set of glasses rolling out at dawn. I'm curious if they're a waste of money 🙂 Thanks!
Chris, I wear M2's and find the wind too much for my contact lenses. They dry the contacts out. I was hoping these Clifdens would do the trick. I've got to do something. Will these keep the contacts from drying out? Thanks! Jimmy Karasik
Man sorry for the delayed comment missed this. I don’t wear contacts so I don’t know for sure but I think they would really help! The wind and elements are significantly less wearing these with the shields. If you can pick a pair up on sale or second hand or borrow a pair then you can test out with less money invested. It’s been 3 months since you commented, found a solution yet? What about shelling out for prescription cycling glasses? If you’re lucky enough to have a health fun maybe they would be subsidised
Not that I know of tbh as the intent of the shields is to block glare I believe, but thats a great idea to block the wind but not the light. Message Oakley I reckon
Look great but the lack of peripheral vision could get you killed! At least you wouldn't have time to think about how being crushed by a 18-wheeler is going to feel.

Good call, the Sutros are my fav for fit and functionality.
Yeah I doubt you would regret it for hiking and photo days ✌️

Epic, the aesthetics got you too:) They so do look like Eggmans glasses! Enjoy them David and thanks for the comment ✌️

Thinking about getting a pair. For outdoor activities. Bright summer sun and bright winter days with snow on the ground.
Would fully recommend, that’s exactly what they excel at 👌 maybe you’ll get an end of financial year sale deal ✌️

Nice work Christopher! Really like your video style!
Thanks Jansen, you’re a legend for watching:) have a great one
Thank you. Great video
Much appreciated! hope it helped:)

Do they make clear side shields to avoid blocking peripheral vision ?

At least if Pogacar was next to you he would very quickly be in front of you😁! Good review mate.
Ha sooo true especially right now, he’s performances are out of this world 🌎
Crap in my eyes while I'm cycling 25 or 30 mph is the benefit of side shields. Ideally wouldn't be so bad if they offered see-through shields.
Sutros for the win!
They are the glasses I keep coming back to out of all that I own, fully agree 👌
They look sick 😎
They sure do that’s what drew me too them🤩
what size are the lenses? 54mm or 56mm?
54mm thanks for watching

Thanks for the heads up, you make it sound like a blissful death haha happy riding ✌️
