      Bigger than melon? Idk man that dude pushes out tons of reviews monthly. In the world of youtube, quantity over quality wins on here. These reviews this guy does look like they require a ton more writing and editing than fantano's. Who knows though. We'll see what happens.

    • @Gremunky
      @Gremunky 6 лет назад +18

      @@guitarmaniac004 I just meant in terms of the sound, a lot of Tame Impala sounds like a modern dark side to me, mainly because of the production. If you listen to Any Colour You Like on dark side I feel like it could be on a Tame Impala album

    • @guitarmaniac004
      @guitarmaniac004 6 лет назад +2

      oh yeah you're absolutely right. The production between the two is definitely similar!

    • @larkstonguesinaspic4814
      @larkstonguesinaspic4814 6 лет назад +5

      @@Gremunky there is some similarities between Tame Impala and some of the psychedelic works of Pink Floyd but not really with the more Progressive PF albums like Animals or The Wall. I'd say Tame Impala has it's own unique sound, sure it takes inspiration from psychedelic rock albums of 60s but You can't really say it sounds like any particular band, I'm sure years from now there'll be plenty of bands that we'll say " hey that really sounds like Tame Impala "

    Hey everyone, just a quick head's up, I'm trying something a little different this time around. I took the backstory section out of the review and made it a separate video, mostly to keep the runtime down for the review section. I will be premiering the backstory video next week, so stay tuned!
    And finally, I just want to let you all know that this is one of the hardest reviews I ever wrote. It took me about two years to make it and I rewrote it two times before I ended with the review above. Thanks so much for watching this review.

    • @larkstonguesinaspic4814
      @larkstonguesinaspic4814 6 лет назад

      I love the review, Thought I think it's better to keep the backstory in the video but keep it short, like only one or two minutes, and also get to do more reviews. But given the fact you put so much effort into your videos and how professional this channel looks I can't complain.
      Btw it'd would be cool to review Melody's Echo Chamber album after this since there's a connection.

      I just noticed that with my last review (TSMR) got less views than some of the related videos. I'm curious to see how well a stand alone making of video will do and hopefully drive more folks to this review. If there's not a big difference, maybe I'll try putting a truncated version like you suggested.

    Ironically this album sounds totally rock with no regular guitar participacion, of course it has a rocker soul but the lack of guitar is supplement with heavenly synths and bass highlights, the guitar brings us sutile sounds a diference of the classic riffs. a jewel wherever you want to see.

      John Doe Totally agree, was taken aback when he said it’s his least favorite. The last minute of that track gives me shivers every time

    This album review was amazing! i felt exactly the same about these tracks and hearing the story behind each one in the sequence that it was meant to play in, I can relate on so many levels. I feel like i experienced all of these things in my life almost in the exact same sequence its strange how i can relate to this album from hearing anything else! wow. Simply amazing. the last song was the first song i ever heard and hearing it now i see an entirely different context which makes me appreciate it more. insane

    Please please PLEASE review Jeff Beck Wired. Jeff Beck seems to be forgotten, and he shouldn't be. This album isn't talked about and it's a definite gem of the seventies. I feel like it could make a good review. It would also be crazy to hear what you would have to say about it since it doesn't have lyrics...Please take this to heart

    Not many Tame Impala fans realize how much Parker was/is influenced by Todd Rundgren. Todd was one of the three most famous pop stars to produce "bedroom records". Paul McCartney & Brian Wilson were the other two.
    Tame Impala have said that they were heavily influenced by Rundgren's groundbreaking and iconic "A Wizard, A True Star".
    It's so easy for me (and probably other Todd Fans) to hear/see Todd's influence on Tame Impala's work.
    Of course, it's easy to hear some of TI's other influences, especially Pink Floyd. But Impala's "DIY" approach to recording, and their psychedelic and pop sensibility nods most heavily in Todd's direction.
    The even approached Todd to do the remix for "Elephant"!
    Take a look at Google images from Parker in his home studio, the ones in front of the big windows with him surrounded by his equipment. Then look the image from the gatefold inside cover of Rundgren's "Something/Anything?"album.
