Each year, the samba schools of Rio de Janeiro spend months, or even the whole year, preparing to compete against one another in Rio's legendary Sambadrome. In this video, we take you inside Porta da Pedra - a samba school in Rio de Janeiro - for a final rehearsal before their big night at the Rio Carnival parade in the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí. We follow Johana, a samba teacher and Porta da Pedra “musa”, and give you an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes of Rio Carnaval and the creative and vibrant culture of Rio de Janeiro's samba schools.
