We´re moving to Africa because if we don´t, who´s going to build the continent? We got the education and what we needed, now it´s time to develop our countries and claim all the resources the continent contains

There are over 50 countries in Africa. It would be great if a group could get together and do a series of what to expect when returning to each country. Sometimes going back to Africa is romanticized. If the diaspora is to return to Africa, they need a reality check on how each countries is different culturally, economically, and politically. People are better prepared when they know what to expect and what countries best suits their needs.
Yeah its true tbh. My dads from Sierra Leone and even he said it's not like as if now you've moved there as a black person that you will be treated fairly. As theres still discrimination between tribes to an extent and also the fact it takes time to be seen as a true Sierra Leonean if you come from the UK or Us for example. Still a beautiful country tho
Wow, that’s awesome. I’m of Sierra Leonean origin, born in the UK and traced my heritage back to freed slaves who settled in Sierra Leone from Jamaica. I visited Port Royal in Kingston, which is where 600 Maroons were deported from and sent to Sierra Leone. They became known as the Krio (Creole) tribe, alongside liberated blacks from the UK, America and Nova Scotia. There are many similarities between the Krio language and Patois for this reason. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Leone_Creole_people
My dad is from Jamaica but he died from cancer and buried back home. I heard it easy to go to Africa if you can a UK passport if you country wars colonized by England which just found out about. My mom wants to visit West Africa but it so expensive to go if you’re from the states but I’m trying to go South Africa which is bit in our budget next year with her as birthday present to both us. It easy to traced our Jamaica side but my mom side it was so hard. I able to find out my mom ancestry is from Senegal and My dad side is the DRC.
While I sincerely wish you the best, i felt I needed to share. There's a news program, where they routinely test the extraordinary claims that different companies make, and I recently saw an episode where they tried out a few different DNA test companies (I am drawing a complete blank on the name of the program. Lol). The 3 companies they tested all gave the same broad strokes, but when it came to the super fine details they didn't have the same tribe or country. It's a fascinating piece and if I can find it again I'll leave the name in an edit. I felt the need to share what little I do remember so that you could be a little more cautious with this decision. I don't know, how much of your DNA led to Sierra Leone or if it was a relatively recent generation that moved out of Africa, but I can only imagine how much it would suck if somebody knew a company was trying to pull the wool over my eyes but didn't warn me. So, sorry if I overstepped, good luck in the future😁
It really isn’t. I’ve been trying to convince everyone around me that it isn’t that we should just stay and try to make our country better. I’m Nigerian by the way.

Africans in Europe, the U.S. and Canada should take their education and wealth and invest in Africa. Let us work together to invest in education, technology, engineering and building infastructure. If you take your education and work for a European, you are helping him and his family get more rich. Invest in Africa people!
Agreed. This education and wealth is good. There's a lot of corruption and greed with countries there and other countries like China trying to take advantage of Africa. Black people going back is good.
I’m all for it. We should not be afraid for one of us to win. We should applaud and encourage each other! If your African your always welcome to visite!
Africans want to go back and recreate capitalism is in their homeland. They should divest away from it and build up socialist projects in Africa. Africa can never be liberated under capitalism because that’s what is used to exploit our country. Remember slavery colonialism and imperialism all practiced the economic system of capitalism.
Review Sam that is what my grandparents did.. they came from Haiti to U.S. and had two children.. moved from NY to FL and bought a house.. my grandpa started a mechanics business in US.. now they spend most of the year in Haiti (own a shop and home) but come back for Medicines (though my papi does prefer it here in America and my mommy prefers it in Haiti).. but their kids (my mom and uncle) have never visited Haiti and will most likely not relocate there...
Evan O THIS! We shouldn’t just recreate those same western systems in Africa. We must be more creative and adapt to a context that doesn’t depend on a capitalist model, which will not benefit the majority of Africans
This was so amazing. My family went from lower class in the UK to upper-middle class because my parents had the initiative that there were better financial opportunities in my home country 'Nigeria' and they were right. People really do have this warped view on Africa that there are no positives.
Thats bc that its what they teach ppl. Especially americans. Commercials show huts and starving ppl. They dont mention the beauty in Africa. Everywhere has a ghetto. And a lower upper and middle class. That image is systematically pushed. White man know Africa is a threat bc of its ppl and the strength they have. So they try to sway ppl away from the continent. @Nwigwe Lesser....Africa is the new China because of China's Belt Road Initiative. Always look at the Bigger Picture. China is a POWERHOUSE in Technology, especially Artificial Intelligence. I'm sure China's development of Africa has been hindered because of the African' Continent's Diverse Culture and languages, and Black People from the West speak a common language, are easily ' controlled' and are ( for the most part ) tech savvy ... How much do you wanna bet that Black People are being 'recruited' to Africa by China. Always ask : Cui Bono? \When something sounds 'too good to be true, it's probably because it is. … ….. What angers me is, Africa is used like a cash machine for many Western nations. Wealth is extracted through certain mechanisms, then many of them turn around and act like "YOU'RE SO UNDERDEVELOPED, it's your fault"... Well it isn't. One issue is, forms of monetary imperialism such as CFA franc still exist. That (CFA Franc) needs to be dismantled expeditiously. As far as "capital" goes, it is a complete and utter myth that the west is "awash" with capital. The reality is, banks in the west effectively create the money supply (Professor Richard Werner proved this in an empirical study) through entries on a computer....ie- out of thin air. The other thing is, there are very, very serious losses in tax revenues for respective African governments primarily due to "foreign investors" in Africa using "holding companies" based in places like Mauritius. You could rarely get away with that in the West. The IRS/HMRC..etc would be on you in a flash. Then you have crony capitalism. In Sierra Leone a good example is a guy like Frank Timis, who has managed to control key segments of the natural resources industry. That wealth is extracted through a series of offshore entities, with little tax paid. Anil Agarwal, the Guptas, Dan Gertler, Benny Steinmetz, Van Hoogstratan, OZ (Och Ziff) Africa Management, Mark Thatcher are some names i would advise my African friends to look into. A light has to be shone on things like this.
Isra'e Thompson-Alston guys, don’t you know that you are more than likely the chosen people of the Scriptures? Check out Dante fortson, teotw ministries, truth unveiled 777, Ronald dalton junior....I’m white and I’m convinced. The last slavery of the Israelites was to last 400 years and then the people would be gather back to the land and restored......’officially’ the transatlantic slave trade ran from 1619, and 2019 marks the 400 years and now there are these big completely secular initiative to bring the people of the diaspora back home......it all fits. Time to get right with Yahusha Ha’maschiach and claim your inheritance from the Most High YHWH!

You need to observe first what is needed the most in the nations of Africa, than make your move from there. [404: User Not Found] - True, mass immigration that causes native ethnic people to become the minority in certain villages, towns, cities in their own country is a bad thing.
I'm from Morocco. A lot of our parents went to The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK and even some to Canada, the US etc. I wish ''we'' stayed in Morocco and all aided in improving that country instead. Staying close to the communities where we fit, instead being hated in the place we immigrated to. The hate is pretty intense, the racists and even the mainstream sees us all responsible for what a select few do. In the end it would've been better to stay in our countries and built better futures there.
As an industrial cleaner, I have worked with all kinds of nationalities and most get a long fine with me, the white guy. I can tell you that moroccans are often racist towards black Africans themselves. So I think it is important to address the racism and hate in your own community aswel instead of only pointing fingers to others. If a Moroccan girl came home with a black boyfriend, I think lots of moroccan families would be very angry. But I do appologize for my own community for the hate and racism that you recieve. If you are a "normal" non violent, hard working dude with moroccan herritage, you are as european as I am, an equal person. Be proud of your herritage, and work with your fellow europeans from all different roots to make Europe a great place to live for your kids and grandkids. That is the multi cultural vision that makes Europe stronger. That being said, I think racial tension comes from wealth inequality, and difference in culture, and in the last place from skin colour.
I'm a Moroccan who was born in Belgium, and i will return to Morocco to start up my own business there. Many Moroccans from Belgium and the Netherlands are doing the same...
Gamercatsz denying racism won’t help ending it. Many people with a foreign background try to fit in the culture in for example the UK or Germany. Yet they still experience racism based on the color of their skin or for being from a foreign background.

There was a lot of talk about the brain drain in the 1960s -1990s, Africans leaving African for education abroad and then never coming back. I am so happy to hear that this is somewhat being reversed, even if it’s second generation... Africa needs educated individuals who KNOW the ins and outs of how the West operates, I mean REALLY operates; business, economy, cultures values, individual values, etc. Though there are good stories that come from Africa interacting with the West, for the most part it has been exploitative and tragic, largely because Africans from African do not fully comprehend the inner workings of the capitalistic mindset, the values and motivation that drive non collectivistic cultures, of which Africa is not. This is why interaction between Africa and the West has often resulted in a covertly exploitative relationship, with Africans left clutching straws. Perhaps with the influx of such people, Africa will develop a greater understanding and arm itself sufficiently to avoid getting shortchanged at the negotiation table. Same applies when dealing with China and the East, by the way. I lived and studied abroad for 10 years. ❤️🌸💕 I loved your content! More, please! 👍🏾🌼
This is a beautiful and outstanding movement from educated people. Usually, brain drain is a serious issue for Africa. P.S. The quality of this video is phenomenal.

I do vlog about my life in kenya to give you a glimpse of Africa.

This is a really good video and brought me to your channel. Well done Jannine! 👏🏽👏🏽 If you were to do a Part 2 perhaps you could assess the impact / success of Ghana’s Year of Return, 2019. Keep on doing you. 🙏🏽 Best wishes, Mike
Mike Pitt Hi Mike , My adopted son’s on his father side home country originated in Ghana. His father family’s name is Dadzie. I’ve always taught my son of his African lineage because at least he knows who/where he comes from. I wish I knew what part of African my family was from. My mother is South Carolina GeeChee. Dad’s family left South Carolina as mulattos’ and settled in Washington County, Texas. But those are stories within a story right there. But I’m kinda of jealous of my son because he has knowledge of at least half of his African story. He knows his tribal group...and on ..and on..and on.😃😃😃
@@annferguson3113 / Hi Ann, if you can, make a trip to Ghana. Take your adopted son. I understand the difficulties you face in tracing your family tree but that should not stop you putting yourself on the continent of Africa. You need to experience it for yourself. Ghana is a good place to start as is Sierra Leone , I enjoyed my time there too and I don't want to only mention Ghana because of my family there. Best wishes, Mike
@Mike Pitt I know the place to really start is on the west coast but where? I heard a place to start is Sierra Leona just like you said to start. Just have to save a little more money 💰 or win the Lottery ...that will be best!!!😁😁😁😆😆😆
I love that she said "to share our experiences and to sponge in aswell" because as Africans we have a lot to learn but we also have alot to offer. Thank you for a wonderful video
I have been to Eastern Europe and Middle East i used to think leaving Africa was the best thing until i tried settling out. Home will always be the best as long as you have a proper financial/business plan Africa is the best place to raise your kids.
What I liked was that the discipline in African schools was fierce. The children who then came to the UK with some schooling already were usually better educated and more ambitious than their counterparts of African and Caribbean origin who were born and schooled in the UK.
How can you be Pakistani if you were born British ? Here is the root of the problem , recent immigrants themselves in the UK don't even want to be British, their children even less so, yet when something happens like a deportation they claim " were 100% British ".
Thanks so much for the support on this video. I'm still in awe at the utter kindness in this comment section. Just uploaded a new one on BLACK BUSINESS. Do be sure to check it out + show some love. Bless you all!

Perfect comment! Yes!

I’m Jamaican and traced my ancestry to Sierra Leone. I’ll be returning for the first time. Thank you for sharing this, definitely inspiring. 💛
How did you go about the process. I have been to didd african countries but can't wait to find my roots.
Leo S you’re most welcome. Yes, do check it out as it’s very informative.

Most young Black ppl in the diaspora are waking up to the fact that we have options and were not just forced to deal with racism like our ancestors. Yea its not easy building a new life in an underdeveloped nation. However you can't put a price tag on the peace of mind you get from not being constantly reminded your black and some how deemed less than.
To me that fear
We definitely have options. Let's network professionally and build a sustainable cross-continental consultancy of our own.

Very Interesting to watch as a South African who's been in Africa all my life. Everyone coming back is in a very good position financially and academically to do business here in Africa. Especially those with UK/EU/US ties, they can better navigate international business. It's good that they are taking these advantages/opportunities fully. Good luck to everyone.

I'm telling you that this place is the world's best-kept secret - the foreigners living here are LIVING LIFE BRUH.
Free advice to anyone dreaming of moving: be thick-skinned; understand that the politics and systems can be - ahem - nonsense, but once you become open-minded, adaptable and get to WORK on yourself/business/life, better believe there's nothing you can't do.
Also rid yourself of the "oh my beloved Mama Africa" rose-tinted glasses because boiii reality gon' slap you HARD across the face and if you don't have the tenacity, you're going to want out in a minute! Hearing too many cry babies in the system I'm in these days. Life anywhere has its challenges BUT it's possible to succeed in most places - especially this side of town.

I was a part of a reconstruction initiative after the last war, it is great to see Sierra Leone beginning to recover and attract well educated people from overseas to invigorate business. You need to observe first what is needed the most in the nations of Africa, than make your move from there. They are not many people who are looking for cakes when they have jollof and other delicacies for birthdays. Concrete for roads, sporting equipment, gyms, education etc are what the youth need the most.
I disagree to some extent, at first I thought the same, but how you market yourself is important and just about everyone loves cakes and we melenated love parties do you know...maybe, maybe.
@@tenieshafyffe5771 no, OP makes sense here: doing your market research is important. Having someone who lives there who can help you with this work. If your product/service in not in demand, no amount of marketing will help you (same for almost anywhere in the world).

True, mass immigration that causes native ethnic people to become the minority in certain villages, towns, cities in their own country is a bad thing.
Literally my mind set for the last 3 years , thank you for this video
The problem is the ones who make it in some countries (Germany, UK, US, etc) end up being such fucking coconuts.
Gamercatsz denying racism won’t help ending it. Many people with a foreign background try to fit in the culture in for example the UK or Germany. Yet they still experience racism based on the color of their skin or for being from a foreign background.
@@badmanthings I think sometimes people leave their home country because of the lack of opportunities. I was born in Canada and my parents came from Portugal. They left because at that time, there was no future. They lived okay in Portugal, but they made a better life for themselves in Canada.

It's not hard it only costs about 40k to buy a home in the Gambia, but you're better off building a house from scratch and buying the land.
I loved your content! More, please! 👍🏾🌼

How can you be Pakistani if you were born British ? Here is the root of the problem , recent immigrants themselves in the UK don't even want to be British, their children even less so, yet when something happens like a deportation they claim " were 100% British ".
