  • Quick Answer: Yes!
A lot of people ask whether you can be a part time agent with a full-time or part-time job. Yes you can! It's a lot of work.
Listen to my story, coming at you from Tulsa, OK, where I practice under my business, The Colvin Group, receiving brokerage services from Keller Williams Realty Advantage.

It’s tough. I’ve been a part time agent going on 8 years now. At times I get really burned out when I’m busy on the real estate side. I’m working towards a pension on my full time job plus have my health insurance. I will say I’ve learned from experience that one really needs to be doing real estate full time in order to be fully successful in this business and to be able to give good service to your clients.

Thomas Robertson yea with work it can get tough. If you don’t have a large client load it can be tough. And if you are looking for clients that can be hard trying to find time to prospect.

I'm currently going through so much burnout, I've been having a mental breakdown about once month. It's tough, I work from about 430am-1pm from Tuesday-Saturday. I do open houses, door knocking and cold calls. I'm really just trying to find a formula and schedule where I'm not a wreck.

Thank you for your honest summary of having a full time job, while becoming a part-time real estate agent. I am in the beginning stages of getting sponsored by a broker, while Self paced online schooling is approaching. I am fortunate, my current full-time job would allow me to take calls, while I am working. E-commerce home buying is taking off, and I want to be apart of the potentialities.
