"Noir et Blanche" does indeed mean black and white but, as you know with french, every word has a gender, and white is always spelled "Blanc" as a masculine, in the Black and white expression. Man Ray therefore puts an emphasis on femininity
love starting one of your videos like ‘who is this and why don’t i know about them’ and then slowly seeing their work and going ‘oh i’ve seen that, oh that must have inspired this, oh actually maybe i do know this person’
Man Ray is so goated. He was always my favorite Dada/Surrealism visual artist. He was also clearly a big inspiration for Robert Mapplethorpe half a century later
So cool you moved to antwerp!! make sure you at one point go to de schelde to just enjoy the wind and the people on the boats!! I recommend going when its about 24 Degrees Celcius!!! Hope you enjoy it!!!
Fun Fact, Man ray also was a suspect in the black dahlia murder, because of his connections to the socialites of the day who had a club out of George Hodels House. It’s an interesting rabbit hole.
Always nice to see appreciation of 'influential' photographers in history, but in no way was Man Ray "the most influential." I can't even think of a way to twist the semantic interpretation of "most influential" to include Man Ray in the topic of fashion photography. I'm going to suggest it was *Richard Avedon.*
babe wake up Fashionlover4 just posted a new video
Honestly wish there was a lot more content covering fashion photography
BRO REALLY DROPPED A MAN RAY VIDEO DAMNNNNN

I graduated in 2001 and did my thesis on Man Ray's influence on fashion. This video means so much to me.
