Training with Adam Ondra

- We had an amazing training with @AdamOndra in Flatanger, in the barn where Adam and his team built this beautiful climbing wall. I followed Adam's training and it was extremely fun, tiring and helpful for the style of the cave.
We are waiting for your suggestions for the next training together!

Hey Stefano, I just subscribed to every channel on youtube as you suggested.
Keep crushing it!
yes me too, now the algorithm has no idea what's going on!
I heard that Chuck Norris just subscribed to every channel...twice
I was just thinking about this - subscribing to all channels is technically the same as subscribing to no channel
@@SzBeni Jesus I haven’t heard a legit chuck norris joke in over a decade
@@rishabmeh32 okay then, I'll subscribe to every channel except for PewDiePie.
2 lovely gentlemen enjoying climbing, how wonderful 👍
Your channel has always had good vibes, and it comes through seeing you enjoy the whole process of working Silence.
The "subscribe please" while dying in the cold water made me burst out laughing !
Also Adam taking a selfie "for Jakob" haha
Especially when you know that Jakob Schubert is visiting right now aswell :D
How did you find Adam? I can never find him when I look behind spray walls.
It's like Candyman....you just gotta say "Silence" 3 times while looking in a mirror.
@@p_booth_fan This is true! But only do it if you are ready to project 9C, or else you will be haunted by an Adam ghost that power screams everytime you make a climbing move until you have completed 9C!
@@p_booth_fan "Kneebar" works too
Gotta love the climbing community
Adam is so happy to have someone trying his climb and wants to help them as best he can
Adam probably wants to see Stefano on it more than no other, as he’s prolly the only climber that could confirm the 9c grade that Adam gave silence
@@trevorsesnic8162 I think the question at this point is whether it is harder than 9c or actually "just" 9c...
That, and I think Adam is there to try some projects of his own
@@johnnylevek9757 this. Maybe Nordic Marathon, or maybe a linkup of the crux of science into p2 of another route
@@trevorsesnic8162 He's not the only climber at all. There's Seb Bouin for one and arguably also Alex Megos.
This Adam guy moves quite well on the wall, he should give this climbing thing a chance, maybe try some competions or something...
Agree, I think he has some potential for climbing, saw him teach a guy named Ondra 2 years ago, so I guess he is quite experienced.
maybe he should try silence aswell
Idk man I think he wouldn't win Olympics
He literally climbed Silence, he was the first to do so and name the route as that
@@Gytax0 wooosh
I just have to say- your channel is awesome Stef! Been watching since the first bibliographie videos and I have to say the quality has gone wayyy up and it’s amazing to see! The cinematography, vibe and personality really shines in this Silence series. Please keep it up, we love it!
It blows my mind we can see these top climbers in the world train and preform free for us to view.
Get it Stefano!! Thanks for letting us watch your process and climbing! Best of luck on the wall and in life!
Tbh other sports are just broken. This should be the norm
I guess with the ads and the reach for the brands in the form of sponsorship it's absolutely worth it - I don't mind some ads and product placement - it's the "pricey wie pay for such amazing content 😎
I admire ondra for not gatekeeping silence. That dude is really nice and charismatic
It'd be funny if you and Adam reenacted that part in the Silence movie where he's on his back miming the crux moves with his trainer holding his foot... Except you'd be miming the moves and Adam would be holding your foot.
I was just about to offer my help, but it's ok, I guess Adam is probably good enough 😅
Hahaha
This series around silence is amazing.
-hi, what is this?
*it's a bouldershed.
-nice, I can Boulder pretty good, is the shed open now?
*sure, just go in, there are already 2 guys in training
-excellent , I will show them some of my moves right now then!
....... Silence.
Suggested training 3 + 3
Each of you will be adding 3 moves until you reach about 30 - 40 moves.
Difficulty of the moves and quantity you reach should depend on what you want to train.
Fist one to fall looses.
classic ! would be fun to watch them do it
With mandatory moves to include :
1 kneebar
1 feet first
Yeah, but that's not representing Flatanger climbing - boulder / rest / boulder / rest.
Sure, but could could imitate with Boulder then a few easy moves to rest, then another hard section... Etc
Of course is not the same, but you can structure it in a way that could be using the same energy systems
It's nice to see how Stephano, one of the best climbers in the world, approaches this goal of climbing the most difficult route in the world and gets advice from the master himself. I'm already looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks!
"Subscribe to every channel there is on RUclips" is a new one 😅
" 🤳...to just send to Jakob" 😂
🥰
Did Adam teach you how to scream powerfully, though?
It would be really cool if Erik Karlsson could film a video with you in flatanger because what he produces lately is really incredible.
My thoughts exactly ;)
Thank you for the love homies :) really psyched to see these films, quality has been really high!
Couldn’t agree more, that would be epic
Eric join us, you're not that far!
@@steghiso Hi Stefano, I sent you a message on IG :)
Bravi Stefano e Adam, e bravi videomakers: devo dire che si vede un grande step in avanti nelle ultime settimane! Keep it up!
PS: già ci avete svoltato i giovedì di questa fine estate...se ora arrivano anche le chicche non programmate ci fate volare troppo alto
So cool to see you and Adam training together! Great partnership!
You should get Magnus to come film it, and interview you projecting! I think he is the best filmer/climbing interviewer there is. I am hoping for a grade upgrade! it always seems to go the other way, just once I want to hear someone say this was way harder, it needs to go up. LOL still excited to see your opinion.
I have been thinking the exact same thing. I half expect this in the coming years as more of the top climbers climb it and attempt it, as well as when more 9C routes get established
Probably my favourite climber :) Hope you send Stefano! I also would love to see you eventually try some of Seb Bouin's routes!
Congraatz on 50K subs Stefano! I reckon with this quality it will climb as well as you sooner or later!
Thanks!
So super cool to see both of you together!!❤️😍 love both channels a lot. So calming, decelerate aura that you two have. Looking foreward to see more collaborating videos!!!
The average climbing ability in this room :D
It would still be 6b+ even if the cameraman could not hold himself on the wall at all.
I love when Adam just keeps going in the background
I see Stefano. I see Adam. I see 9c. I click.
💪👍
One of my favorite ways to build fitness on these types of routes is to do “forced rests” where I climb around and keep the pump medium to high for 30 seconds to a minute, then make my way to the best rest on the wall, rest for 30 seconds, go again. I’ll do this to add up to 5 minutes or of climbing. It’s better than 4x4 or 3x3x3 because on a sport route you’ll never really completely disengage like you do for the other exercises.
Do you like the route? Is silence fun to work on?
Yes!
The speed ability of AO is so insane, how fast he moves and climbs always impress me.
Great job Stef !! Can't wait for the 60k prank.
Stefano is one of the best climbers ever but it’s crazy how much faster and more efficient Adam moves. He‘s just on another level and so much stronger
The only two people to have ever climbed 3 5.15c routes. Legends
Seb bouin did it too no ?
Megos?
@@chops3902 he has i think 3 first ascents that he’s given 15b/c, and now I guess he’s done Change and DNA, so equally as impressive
@@P_Acuta Megos has only done 2, bibliographie and perfecto mundo
@@colehibbard2851 Oh that reminds me. Can't wait untill Adam gets back onto perfecto mundo.
Does anyone know what Adam actually is doing in Flatanger? Whats he climbing?
New project, there is a short video on Hispaclimbing channel. Probably Nordic marathon or a harder variation.
ruclips.net/user/shorts_pEh_a5JsXU?feature=share
Project Big
Probably project big, wich must be the hard variation of nordic marathon.
Loved the part when Adam sended the pic to Jakob. So thats how the real avengers comunicate
🔥🔥🔥
Since crucks one is the main problem with its rotation and inverted climbing, maybe try to build on rotating body moves on the wall and body tension. Its so much Adams style and i think the key here to send it. Keep up the good work!
In the Avengers movie the epic moment is when they assemble to bring down the foe. Stefano, Jakob and Adam against Flatanger cave, the dream team. We want more content about you guys bringing each other up to the next level 😉
Training idea: do a bunch of dumb shit with Magnus. Will it help climb silence? Probably not. Will you all have fun? Yes.
I subbed for the 'SUBSCRIBE PLEEEEEASE' at the end. Stay awesome Stefano.
Both of you should play a game of “Add On” - someone makes the first move on the spray wall, next person does that move and “adds one more”. Trade back and forth until someone fails
Great collab, hope u send Silencee soon!
It's like Apollo training Rocky!!! :D
you’re trainer makes some odd noises while training
I just subscribed to every channel on RUclips
You need Magnus and Pete to come hangout too
Awesome challenge. So good to follow along with it. Hope you can keep up the motivation. Adam's speed and precision will be hard to match, but you'll probably need quite a bit of it to send it.
That's the biggest obstacle I see for Stefano: the speed.
I’ve spent the last 13 hours subscribing to every channel I can find…
Perfect thanks
These guys are special. I was smiling through pain when they said “Let’s do something not too hard. A 7b+”.
Great training and mindset. And good luck with the Silence, Stefano!
So you will jump in the sea again when you reach 60.000 Subscriber? :D
That's the plan!
You should have left his name out of the title! :D
I wonder if you guys have tried the Wide Boys beta for the 1st crux? I think Pete worked out an inversion/feet first method.
Pete only did the last part of crux one. In Stefanos previous video it showed him just trying to figure out how to get to the part Pete started at.
Nice surprise ending ! That ocean water doesn't look warm at all ! Good for the muscles recovery though :) Congratz for the 50k subs
So nice to see you two working together. Even tho often enough you are rivals you help each other. Thats the spirit and an example for us all in every situation. I hope so much that you will be able to achieve your goal to send silence. Keep up these awsome videos, my man
This right here is what makes climbing so special and the best sport in the world. I hope the pro scene never loses its comradery and collaborative spirit, it sets the tone for the whole sport. Go Stefano, we can't wait to see you send it!!
Good Luck with weather and wish you Lot of Strength to your body.
I was wondering how long it will take for someone to repeat Silence now i'm bit worried it will be pretty soon :D
Ciao zio bandaa
Beasts!
all right, i gonna start subscribing to every channel there is on youtube. See you in many years :D
Adam seems like a good friend to have when trying to climb Silence.
Adam casually sending pics to Jacob Schubert
In only 5 years, the pool of climbers who are serious contenders for the 9c grade have increased from 1 to 4.
2017: Adam Ondra climbs Silence 9c. Yet to be repeated / confirmed.
2020: Alex Megos climbs Bibliographie 9c, downgraded to 9b+. But he has what it takes in my opinion...
2022: In May, Seb Bouin climbs DNA 9c. Yet to be repeated / confirmed. The strongest climber you haven´t heard of...
...who repeats Ondra´s Change 9b+ in August.
In September, Stefano Ghisolfi is getting ever closer to sending Silence. 9c?
"...and subscribe to every channel there is on RUclips." Done, Stefano.
its crazy to see you both training together in flatanger - sick video
Stefano you rule
💪
Amazing, nice one Stefano - we're absolutely loving this series 🙏
Instructions unclear, tried to subscribe to every channel, got banned. Please advise.
BRB, subscribing to every channel
Thanks for recommending my channel Stefano :P Those problems must have been nails.
Hey. So the chosen difficulty is 7B+, adding 3 of them on top of each other should create a route somewhat 8c+/9a. Does it seems correct to you ?
Which means that you try to do 3 8c+/9a with a good rest in between each of them. I'm interested in the answer to transpose it at my own level.
I really love that it looks like the only way to climb the hardest route in the world is to train inside this cool barn.
Great vibe from there. 💪
Perfect conditions to you 🙏
It’s very nice of you to give talented rookies a chance to climb with you, Stefano!
Thanks for the update! It’s so fun to follow your progression on silence. Very cool to see Adam joining! Also, great outro!!🤣
Hit up the Wide Boyz for some crack beats.
Boulder triple: campus first, then with one foot, then both. No rest.
7b+ allora pure Francy poteva venicce
Facevano na cosa a tre come a pale co fazz e ricky
The first crux is going to be horrible... I can't wait to see his attempts
What boulder grade would you guve crux 1 ?
Might be tricky to set, but a simulation of any/all the cruxes might be useful.
Subscribe to every channel there is in RUclips hahaha
Adam seems pretty strong - maybe he should give silence a go
Tanks to the jump I subscribe 💕
Love the casual introduction
WELCO TO THE softIAN BROTHER !
Bellissimo vedervi insieme. Grandi atleti, grandi persone ❤️
You may need to find a stronger friend, if you want to have any chance of sending Silence 😏
As for the next training you can go for "add a move" circuits
È così divertente vedere come scali e come fai l'idiota a caso, ogni video ha un sacco di energia positiva e intrattiene da matti!
Nuevo por aquí. I like your channel
sending a selfie to Jacob, Adam is insane :D
In every gym there is that one guy who push u forward
Is the replication of the crux still on the wall? Adam Ondra used to train the sequence back then if i remember correct. Oh, and Pete Whittaker has a video where he jams the crux in Silence and finds a different method. And i just subscribed to all youtube channels as you told! In bocca al lupo.
The issue with Pete's beta is that he doesn't do any of the boulder moves into the crack, because in his own words "there are holds I didn't know a human could hold on to". So while he could jam the crack different, that beta wouldn't work actually climbing every part of the crux
@@jefferypinley4336 True
@@jefferypinley4336 It's more that we don't know if the beta work actually climbing every part. Maybe it work, maybe a part of it works but the hardest move would be to get into position (and that could be the case while still being easier than the original beta), or maybe it's impossible to get into the right position for the jamming.
@@jefferypinley4336 That's not true. Adam himself stated that he's well come into Pete's starting position, but from there it was 'easier' for him to do this big drop knee, that requires insane knee flexibility. The crux of the crux seems to be to get this foot jam tight, which Pete indeed didn't do from below. From there it's either big drop knee or advanced technical jamming, but in any case, the jam must stick and that's really really hard it seems.
subscribed for the outro
