I thought the revolution will not be televised! Here we are, 2 televised episodes in and I am loving it!
One day it might even be live!
@@TheDwellersBelow better ask Gentile to stay at home that day! 😂
Scenarios, as Brad said very important to have good ways, and different ways to win. I put it down as to one of 4 things that make a good game. 1.Good rules 2. Good well round army lists 3. satisfying ways to determine who wins. 4. Company support encompassing everything from prices, availability etc.. One suggestion I would make is that scenarios sometimes don't fit the table scenery. So one way to have an interesting tournaments would be assigning tables with different win conditions, that suit the tables. You can also influence army builds by creating objectives for "broken" units have to achieve or concede points to the opponent. That can work in a myriad of ways. Again though it's finding the balance that works, having a community that accepts things don't always to plan.
Some good ideas here.
I'm here from the Square Based podcast recommendation, buts its great hearing other Aussies chatting about warhammer. I got into warhammer in primary school but have never actually played a game. I've been working through the old orcs and goblins I never actually got rid of since I got back into the hobby. The old world has such a better feel than aos, and I realised I was actually keen to build an army. I was just having fun hobbying and creating a narrative for my army, but the old world has made me so hyped to actually play. Hopefully I'll get into a local group or event. Super keen!
The Aussie event scene used to be amazing and I'm sure it will be again. Rob is a babe and puts in a great show. Thanks for giving us a listen, hopefully we can see you at an event sometime!
I am new subscriber at your channel and I love it. Keep it going guys
Thanks for subscribing and glad you enjoyed!
Opening is so fucking spicy
Thanks babe. Inspired by your mad beats
So glad you guys are back! One big take away for me is the game seems to be based around letting you play with your toys, but at the same time rewarding good combat and play
No more templates deleting units, no more breaking and just running off the table, but still rewarding good choice of combat with no step up etc.
So hyped for this, so far from what I'm looking at without playing and having a rule book, this looks really nice and balanced in terms of core rules and play style (I hope I'm not wrong about this) but dang, HYPE.ME.UP
Yeah it all reads really well and we just want to get playing now
I got the TVI reference from the old empire forums. Nice call back
Hex spells etc. do not require line of sight, they require the target to be in the front arc of the caster which is quite a bit more forgiving.
Yeah we probably conflated the two. Definitely still a limiting factor. We wanted to talk about the line of sight system but ran out of time.
@@TheDwellersBelow No worries, very early days with most of us not even having the rules. Good episode!
Back are the sultry tones of the Dwellers Below. Time for the army of the Ostermark to dust itself off and get on the gaming table!
Love this
the swingers orgy analogy was top class. subscribed
Hahaha thanks mate!
Another great show. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
That announcement about tournament legality probably sparked yet another parking lot fight 😂
Anchorman style fight between various GW departments sounds right
Let's go Danny, Old World slow grow time? My beastmen have multiplied
Sounds like a great idea!
Brad Morin was number one in Australasian 40k?! Did the entire NZ 40k community retire that year?
Also great you see you boys are back!
I think that was the year he won Arc and a couple other events and everyone thought he was a filth-monger
Great to see you back and recording
Thanks!
The 9th Age has multiple missions that could be used here .
Might have to check that out!
Good to have you back!
Thanks!
Bloody good stuff
Thanks!
My positive is the hobby motivation, all-time high. My negative is I run mostly pdf armies and it makes me anxious not being able to make lists or knowing which units have been cut from 8th
The motivation is real. I think all of us have been digging old models out from long forgotten cupboards. Fingers crossed for our pdf armies, at least they should be easier to read when they do come out...
Now that I've gotten older, I find myself failing my strength test more often... Any tips on how to get in shape for ToW? Lets Gooo!
Just gotta practice those rolls!
Check out strengthhammer, it’s awful
glad to hear about the BSS que at a convention the other side of the planet truly i used my time wisely :D
Make sure you tune in for the love stream from the queue! Ft Randy
thank u for ur unending support. the early access (10:30am) is ticketed at $25, do you think it's worth it? and if so, how much earlier should I get there? I anticipate some pretty big lines, I think.
Needs more kakwa
Kakawah!
Fav: The fact it just exists again and going down a massive rabbit hole of list building for the next 100+ trips to the bathroom
Least: No dark elves
Request for discussion: any news on army releases past Brets and Yummy Mummies?
The rabbit hole goes so deep hey! If we get news we'll bring it, but we don't have early access to anything at the moment, so we just feed off everyone else's scraps
Regarding the scenario play, personally... yes I like it and I think its fun but I also don't want to move to far from.. this is a battle where armies are here to fight and some scenarios are a little too creative for my liking, I think they belong more in a home game than tournament play.
I do think its important to keep the game fresh though which while we are hoping to have no comp systems required, in the old days, Swedish, ETC and comp systems forced some players to create different lists which is great. This is where a variety of possible scenarios could be great.
The other option is don't lock in a default tournament list size.. as we know the difference between 1999 and 2000 points in this edition could be quite significant due to rare slots etc so why not play both for a while, or day 1 is 3 games 1750 and day 2 is an expansion list to 2 or 3 games at 2250, not something I would want often but a great way to do something different every now and then.
Definitely like changing up the list size to keep things fresh. There are also so many different options inside lists with items and spells and so many units that it's easy to tweak things a bit if they are feeling stale.
Japanese shirt says Slapchop XD
Yeah the Dwellers
Yeah the Adams
And now the LVO Preview will have no TOW reveals!
Gotta have something surely
also JUSTICE FOR CAST DICE TOO
C...A...S...
Hey, first time listener here. As someone who played a ton of AoS the past 4 years I have always loved the lore and setting of WFB so much better. Really looking forward to the old fart commentary on this revitalized game.
(Side note: What are your thoughts on 3D printing for those without any WFB collection and want to get in on this game?)
Print away! There are so many great options our there. I've got a big scarab titan on the printer at the moment as a bone dragon stand in

Rumours of Nick's demise have been exaggerated...
It's very 3rd Ed, but better, very much better. I read a lot of comments about how this or that is going to work and I have a chuckle as I'm thinking. Nah grasshopper, you know nothing!!. The armour rules and AP (very 3rd ED ) balances things out. Infantry now often get a save, while on the other hand knights get a 3+ save not a 2+ save and can be killed easier. The 10 wound Chaos Dragon sure is nasty, but it'll cost you a quarter of your army pts, if not more. There are a lot of these sorts of things that balance the game from what I see now. Lets see what happens.
Yeah can't wait to get models on the table and test it out!
I had no idea Tom Kerridge was into Warhammer
Imagine!
Skip x wing - amg is killing it , play only ToW
Cancon will be Nick's last X-Wing event unless he can spike the flight to Chicago for worlds. Then it's Old World all the way
so i can just check after listening to this Nick was comparing tournaments to swingers night? ..........at around 51 min???? classic
They're basically the same thing to be fair.
Back Backity Back
Backity back!
Backety back back back
Baaaaaaaack
#Gifted
You know it!
"Warriors of Chaos look a lot bigger on the table now" ... be glad you do not play O&G. That ~65% size increase (do the math!) in base area is MASSIVE, yet I have not read/heard many discussions about this so far.
Yeah definitely something that will become more apparent when people start playing games.
Y u no tag me in this video omg. at least put a link in the shownotes, sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh
New phone who dis?
