  • PDR using the Blending technique is a unique dent repair lesson as its widely misunderstood and training is lacking for it. Here we will dive into what is happening and how to perform a good Blend. I was trained and used extensively blending in a manufacturing environment where the skill was employed constantly. It’s become one of my strongest skills. And I hope this video helps you.
    Www.realworldpdr.com
    We will have even more blending content uploaded. Enjoy!

      @RealWorldPDRTraining I hear ya,been out of the game since the late 90s. But now that I'm older and have had my fair share of wrestling with cars,trucks all my life like a new approach to old ways.
      First thing my boss told me when training body work is just creating an illusion,all smoke and mirrors......

    Who would even attempt that! Unbelievable! What a GREAT way to teach. Take on the near impossible and show it can be done. You totally destroy the old saying "Those that can DO, those that can't teach". Well done again mate, you're a great trainer. Brad.

    • @RealWorldPDRTraining
      @RealWorldPDRTraining  5 лет назад

      Dang Brad!!!! Thank you so much!!! That’s a great compliment.
      So what I wanted to express here, is that it’s unnecessary to spend 1500 bucks to go sit in a classroom for the information. With the paid content, I believe the same value can be given from your own home for extraordinarily less money.
      I’ve put a lot of time and thought into this series, and I want everything to be truly valuable to the consumer.

    • @RealWorldPDRTraining
      @RealWorldPDRTraining  5 лет назад

      Man I’ve been thinking about this compliment all day. I’m so flattered by your words.
      The “those who can’t do, teach” saying is so prevalent. I’ve talked to a ton of techs since I started this. So many of them only had limited hands on training, or never ever saw their trainer fix a single dent. That’s ridiculous to me. The only way or reason that I feel qualified to teach the future techs of this industry is because for 15 years I’ve clawed my way to the top of the industry.
      I truly care about progressing this industry to the “next level.” I hope guys like you take every bit of information I have, and build upon that. When the time comes I hope all of you who cared enough to stand among the best, pass on your hard earned information to the next generation.
      Of course it would be disingenuous for me to say that the “job” aspect, supporting my family and whatnot doesn’t play a part in this. But more than anything I hope I get to leave a mark on this industry.

      Thanks Jim. I have watched hours and hours of PDR videos trying to psych myself up into taking the plunge and spending a motza on tools and having the guts to work on someone else's vehicle. All BS aside, to date, your instructional style and absolutely thorough explanations of what you are doing have been leaps and bounds ahead of all the other videos I've watched. Reference the saying, I think I first heard that in the Aussie Army back in the early 80's and I have witnessed it first hand in various occupations since. I'll pop in and say G'day next time I'm in America. Cheers mate, Brad.

    Cheers Jim, great video and explanation. Really appreciate the time you have put into the contents of all your videos. I’m been all over RUclips and dent trainer for nearly year now, so your approach is really refreshing. I see where you are probably going with your online training, good look to you, you definitely have something.
    Jim I have a question relating to glue pulling, I need to invest in the these tools without killing my bank account, which is the best slide hammer and most practical tabs to get for basic creases and small dings, it’s a mine field when purchasing. Different tabs seem to have different pull strengths?? And hammers have different weights?
    Thanks again.

    • @RealWorldPDRTraining
      @RealWorldPDRTraining  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Chris!!! Happy to help. I’ll tell you I’ve got all of the tabs and the market is ever-changing. Check out Keco’s new stuff. I think it’s the ice edition square tabs, they work great, aren’t insanely expensive and I’ve only broken one so far. A great place to look for tools is on Anson PDR’s website. They very rarely stock anything that sucks. Idk if they are lucky or that’s their motto, but I’ve found it to be true when purchasing from them. They have some new “compression tabs” that are wonderful.
      As far as basic glue pulling epuipment, like your slide hammer and mini lifter.... first of all start with a mini lifter it’s going to get you nicer center pulls. Be careful with the feet on rails because they can dent them when pulling. Any reputable company will sell quality lifters, but I used one from A-1 tools for years with only minor issues. One of the feet fell off. I repaired that with a length of solder (sp?) that I melted in both ends. My Keco mini lifter has served me well for years, and shows no signs of slowing down. It’s going to offer you more range of motion than the A-1 so if you can swing it do that. If you work a lot of top panels for hail, the only answer is the lift rite mini lifter from Precision PDR tool’s.
      Check out my other channel Dent Tools Freak here on youtube, I’ve kind of become the talkbox of the industry when it comes to honest tool reviews. I won’t positively review a tool that doesn’t deserve it. If a tool is jacked up you’ll hear about that too.
      Also feel free to email me at Denttoolsfreak@gmail.com with any questions. I’m fortunate enough to have enough years in this business that I’ve purchased more than my fair share of tools and manufacturers regularly send them to me for testing. I’d be happy to help however I can!

      Truth be told, I used to make my own that worked great. Find a hammer blank and get busy with a grinder if price is a problem. Finish the face with no sharp edges and, have at least a 2500 grit polish.

    Thanks for taking time on making this video. Although I do not own a blending hammer yet and would be purchasing in the near future, I cant seem to justify my investment on one, until I spoke with one technician that said he can blend a quarter panel body line ding. I have never seen him do it because he works at another state. I work at a wholesale account with no drilling policy, glue pulling seems to take forever (with a mediocre result) and taking the tail lights out and snaking a tool is always what I have been doing. I just would like to cut my repair time and any helpful info on this would be very much appreciated. Maybe a future video? Thanks!

      @@RealWorldPDRTraining I have done metal science and metallurgy and until you reposition the metal molecules back to were they are meant to be, the dent is still there, do the job properly!

      @@RealWorldPDRTraining Ок. It seems to me faster and without orange peel you can pull the adhesive system? Am I wrong? What is the advantage of blending?

      PDR Ростов-на-Дону you are absolutely correct. I think we are dealing with a language barrier here. This is a dent that should NEVER be blended. Yes glue would’ve been way easier and faster for this dent. This was simply to show what was possible with blending.
      Blending is useful and better for small hail dents on rails and other panels, more dents can be fixed faster and just as clean blending that kind of damage. I showed a more practical blending video on this channel!

      Hahah if that bothers you I’d love to see your examples of blending a dent that large.
