    These are very high build quality, beautiful sounding speakers.
    In my small room, the Uni-Q seems to be just perfect. The soundstage is large and highs are articulate and refined. Excellent for home theater and music!
    Not cheap but like I mentioned, I’d buy them again tomorrow, if I needed to.

    Damn, I was expecting more of a difference tbh. The KEF midrange is better, but the Klipsch held its own tbh especially considering its price 👏

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  9 месяцев назад +3

      That’s exactly why I love this hobby! The KEFs are about 4x the price but I think most people would be surprised at just how close this shootout was.
      The RP600M are quite impressive. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new series III.
      KEF is the better speaker though:)

      The Klipsch did a decent job but the KEF sounded SO much better. Much clearer and a much more full sound. I'm seriously considering getting the KEF's.

    • @marcgallant5270
      @marcgallant5270 7 месяцев назад +3

      You can't evaluate a speaker on its FR alone. Compare soundstage width, height, depth, layering and imaging. The KEF absolutely destroy the Klispch, start to push the volume and the differences get greater. You're not going to get that holographic 3d soundstage that wraps your room with the Klispch.

    The clarity/midrange on the KEF crush the Klipsch. If using a subwoofer I would even pick the Sony SCSS5 over the Klipsch. (And I like Klipsch) The mids on those Klipsch are lacking. Nice job on the reviews, I enjoy your channel.

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  2 года назад +3

      The SCSS5 is definitely one of the top audio bargains out! They punch waay above their weight class.

      I have the core series set up as 5.1 surround sound with a Snell ICS Sub 24 mk3 handling everything 100hz and below. It plays loud and clean, awesome for music and movies IMHO. (Receiver is a Denon AVR-S960H) The only thing I bought used was the Sub but it was mint. Quality used gear at a good price is rare around me, but I still have less than $1200 in everything. I really enjoy the reviews on budget and used gear, with a little high end thrown in for good measure. I need to here those KEF R3's in person :)

    • @maddog3454

      The KEFs are $2100 and the Klipsch is $500...how is comparing these two fair? The KEFs at 4 times the price should "crush" the Klipsch.

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  2 года назад +11

      @@maddog3454 It’s not really about being fair, it’s about comparing bookshelf speakers to other bookshelf speakers.
      I’ve also compared $200 Sony to $550 Klipsch speakers. I just make these videos so people out there can hear my thoughts on speakers they have some experience with to maybe some they don’t have any experience with.
      The Sony speakers held up pretty well against the Klipsch, just like the Klipsch held up pretty well against these KEF.
      Just thought people would like the comparison, that’s all.

    Looks like we have the same hobby, buying used audio gear at very low prices. Do you just demo this stuff and then resell it? I have a method you might try. Look for packages or gear that has been sitting for sale for close to a month. Offer them 60% of what they are asking. I like to say " If you haven't received a better offer for your XYZ I can afford to give you ... for it". This way they don't feel insulted by a low offer and since its been sitting for sale for a long time the answer is typically yes. The prices you are paying for your gear seem to be mostly fair market used value on older gear. What you want is exceptionally good deals! I get Ridiculously good deals all the time.

     @Average Guy Hi-Fi - in other countries, the KEF R3 is 2x the price of the RP600M. For that matter, my KEF Q350s cost half that of my Klipsch RP 600M but everybody who has auditioned it, including me, preferred the KEF unanimously, both in a treated as well as untreated room. The moral of the story is, buy whichever speakers are cheaper in your respective countries.
    Amplifiers that I've tried the Klipsch with were Marantz PM6006, Marantz SR6013, SMSL DA9. Crown XlS 1502 and Cambridge Audio CXA81. DACs used were Chord Mojo, Ifi Zen Dac, Topping E30 and RME ADI-2 FS (not to mention the inbuilt DACs of the aforementioned IAs). Cables (XLR, interconects and speaker cables) were Mogami or Audioquest. Source was Allo Digione Signature (for digital) and Rega Planar 1 (with Phono of PM6006 and Ifi Zen Phono). No matter the chain, the KEF Q350 is simply the better speaker for most genres.

    C'è qualcosa che non quadra! Perché le kef r3 hanno un'efficienza enormemente più bassa rispetto a klipsh rp600m e qui sembra esattamente il contrario. Perché le klipsh rp600m hanno una presenza e una dinamica strabordante rispetto a kef, che predilige il dettaglio in gamma media. E qui si ha un'impressione opposta. Non c'è un solo ascolto comparativo di klipsh rp600m sul web che abbia un minimo riscontro con questo. Anche con diffusori di costo nettamente superiore. E soprattutto perché la mia esperienza comparativa diretta tra questi due diffusori mi dice di un ascolto completamente diverso da questo. C'è qualche fattore che non conosco e che ha determinato questo risultato. Che non ha alcun riscontro reale.

    WELL WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM.. YOU'RE COMPARING A $650 PAIR OF BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS WITH A PAIR OF BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS THAT SELL FOR $3,000 OR MORE IT IS EXTRAORDINARILY DIFFICULT TO COMPARE SPEAKERS IN BOOKSHELF STYLE WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING AT ALMOST A $2,500 DIFFERENCE IN PRICE.. IF YOU HAPPEN TO HIM THE MONEY WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT $7,500 FOR TWO PAIR OF THE R3 META.
    THEN GO FOR IT I WOULD IF I HAD THOSE SORT OF FUNDS BUT I DON'T SO I SPEND AROUND SIXTEEN HUNDRED BUCKS MAYBE $2,000 FOR TWO PAIR OF THE KLIPSCH RP-600M MARK TWOS..
    IT'S QUITE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD COMPARE SPEAKERS.. WITH BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS FROM TWO DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS WITH SUCH AN EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH DIFFERENCE IN PRICE.. EITHER CHOICE WILL TELL YOU WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES IF YOU WANT TO SPEND MORE THAN $7,000 FOR TWO PAIR OF KEF R3 M E T A OR TWO PAIR OF KLIPSCH RP-600M MARK24 AROUND$1,400 US THEN DO IT SO.. EVERYTHING BOILS DOWN TO HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE TO SPEND AND WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD.. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT IS THE ABSOLUTE BOTTOM LINE.
    AS AN EXAMPLE YOU WOULD NEVER EVER COMPARE A PAIR OF SONY S C S BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS AGAINST THE KLIPSCH RP-600M MARK TO EITHER.. THE PRICING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO IS EXTRAORDINARY FAR APART IN BETWEEN THESE TWO BOOKSHELF SPEAKER SETUPS IN THE REASON WHY I MENTIONED BUYING TWO PAIR OF EITHER OF THESE TWO TYPES OF SPEAKERS IS THAT IT ALWAYS SOUNDS BETTER TO HAVE FOR SPEAKERS IN A ROOM THAN JUST ONE PAIR OF SPEAKERS.. THE MORE SPEAKERS THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY I LIKE IN A ROOM THE BETTER IT'LL SOUND MORE SURROUND MORE FULLNESS TO WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU'RE LISTENING TO THE MALL DIRECTIONS.. AND ALWAYS THE SOUND COME FROM ALL DIRECTIONS WHICH MEANS YOU ALWAYS NEED MORE THAN ONE PAIR SPEAKERS IN A ROOM..😊😊

      These klipsch compete with other speakers in the multi thousand dollar range so I can see the point in the video. The R3 do seem to be better obviously, but how much of that can you get for just $400 with the klipsch? Maybe up to 90% ?
