I believe in the US (were they call it the sidewalk) they also spell it curb. But here that means to restrain or keep in check.
Crouch End has a lot of late Victorian houses that are worth keeping nice because they're so expensive, but the centre of CE is looking a bit sad currently - quite a few boarded up shops.

I hope one day i will go to visit this neighborhood and take some pictures. I know this streets better than the people who lives there, i watched the movie too many times as a kid. 😂
