Drunk Man Flees In a Party Bus After a Bar Fight

- On April 2nd, 2023, police were dispatched to a fight in progress in the parking lot at Phil's Corner in Joliet, Illinois. The victims were leaving to prevent further issues when 42-year-old Thomas Lopez decided to ram into their vehicle with his party bus.
Joliet police said 4 people, including Thomas, were sent to the hospital after the incident.
Thomas Lopez was charged with a total of 22 different criminal charges, including aggravated battery, aggravated fleeing/eluding a peace officer, obstructing a peace officer, DUI, obstructing, and criminal damage to property.
He was out of jail the next day after posting 10% of his $50,000 bail.

22 charges, out of jail the next day. Judges live in their mansions in gated communities and don't care if the "peasant world" burns. No respect for them.
Maybe tell the idiot cops not to tase a handcuffed suspect on the ground. They just made sure he gets all charges dropped and has a nice payday from the city.
Released criminals should be mandated to live with the judges who release them.

People always find a way to blame the cops, or the criminal's lack of opportunities, or systems of systemic oppression. On top of that you think this scumbag should be awarded money and get his charges dropped. This is why repeat offenders keep getting released and continuing to victimize people. You have a distorted sense of justice if you think his crimes should be wiped away because he got an extra zap. One has nothing to do with the other anyway. Good luck with his lolsuit.

Actually, copiophobia is a thing, no laughs. I know a guy in Russia who has that. He's especially afraid when driving. Once he got in an accident this way. He was driving an icy road, noticed a police car and instinctively stepped on gas. Lost control and ended wrecking two cars. Interestingly, cops from the car he spotted just disembarked and he had to wait for another ones...

DA’s don’t set bail, judges do. If the judge felt he wasn’t a flight risk, he was duty bound to allow a bond.
