LOL..that cut out is awesome. As far as lighting goes, I have mine on the blue lights with one of them and on the other tank I have a current usa light and it has different levels of brightness for the white so I keep it on low.

How often do you do this? Just to ask as mine looks a little cleaner and I was about to change him after a week so I'm not sure how often is necessary/appropriate?

Hi, so I just got an axolotl yesterday. I fed him and tested the water for everything. However, all of a sudden his tank got cloudy. I was wondering why? And if I should just do a water change? Some people say to let it work itself out but it really bothers me.

Hey turtle girl for your turtle tank what type of watt bulb are you using for your tank I am using a 50 watt and I have never seen my red eared go up to bask so do I need a more powerful bulb or not it would be awesome if you responded ❤️

I just started watching your videos. I noticed you have a loft bed, I have one too but planning to get an axolotl. What size tank are you using (looks like 20 or 40g) and what/where is your shelving for the tank from? I’m having a customized tank made and I’m trying to find a sturdy but suitable stand for it. Aloha from Hawaii 😊
Also if you don't have a lid I suggest you get one in case if your axolotl tries to jump out, if they do their slime coat can get dried off,

When 1st getting an axolotl and tank. Did you cycle the tank with him in it like a turtle or keep him separate until the tank was cycled?
I know I’m kinda late, but it’s pretty dangerous to do your cycle with the axolotl in the tank so it’s best to cycle your tank before putting your axolotl in!

i'm mad at the reason i have to clean the tank.
he's currently in a large bowl right now (we don't have any totes to use) with a few of his fake plants. i put his tank cover on top of it. (obviously there's water in there too)

there's this yellow anemone thingy in my axolotl's tank, and it is actually a really cute decoration and my axolotl loves it. i'm so sad i have to take it away, but there's this residue that comes off of it when you shake it. this is what caused the clouding and nastiness in my axolotl's tank.
i am NOT satisfied with this product, tetra. "trust your tank to tetra" my ass.
my axolotl could've easily thought this was food and ingested it. keep in mind this is fucking RESIDUE coming off of a "tank-safe" product. disgusting.
i got my axie and all of the stuff for my birthday, so i can't leave a review, but let's not miss the point: this could've been VERY dangerous for my beloved axolotl and i am not happy. i love him so much and the LAST thing i need is a supposedly tank-safe product threatening his life.

I use API stress coat. It’s great for their slime coat😊😉

I have two Axolotls and one of them is named Mochi as well!! It’s a perfect axoltol name! My other is named Archie after the squishmallow xd

hello was just wondering if the axolotl ended up eating all of the white clouds. I'm thinking about adding some to my tank as well.
after about a year, they were all gone. it was kind of slowly but surely they got picked off. I think it's worth a shot though if you want to try fish in your tank!

I’ve been wanting an axolotl but I’m afraid I can’t take proper care of it. I don’t know where I could get food for it near me. I don’t know where to get an air pump or sponge filter and I don’t have a siphon for easy cleaning but I want one so bad🥺
I think you should wait if you think u can’t take care of it😕

Definitely not. Axolotls have very different care requirements than turtles and are pretty fragile.
No Axolotls will nip at their tank mates

Not sure what you mean? I feed every other day, meaning for instance, in given week I feed monday, skip tues, feed wed, skip thurs, feed fri, skip sat, etc. Water changes happen every couple weeks with spot cleaning with a turkey baster whenever I see his turds.

I need help with my turtle he is losing his color on top of his shell it’s turning grey it’s not fuzzy so I don’t thing it’s fungi so I don’t know can someone help me with this and what should I do.
Is he getting ready to shed his scutes? Wdym by turning grey? Does it rub off?

Kolby's Kritters I don’t think he’s getting ready to shed , the top of his shell is losing its color it’s a size of of a circle, the the sides of his shell are still bright green, and is not rubbing off

I’m no expert, but from everything I’ve read, your sweet axolotl needs sand-of some kind at the bottom of their tank, they enjoy digging.....just a suggestion!

Do you ever get money for birthdays or chores or a job? If you could pay for it, would you mom let you buy it? Parents are tough, I know, but we have to be creative and find solutions ;)
@@TheTurtleGirl update: we got earth worms for him and a fine sand substrate, and sadly I dont get money for those and my birthday was a while ago. My mom is really chill moneys just tight. And with covid I cant make money, but my dad is gonna try to help. I'm also worried because I haven't ever cycled (only cleaned) and I'm only 10 and I've watched many videos i just dont get them
@@CowboyBeansss Then just do the best you can! Cycling is a process by which waste is broken down in the tank. You monitor it with a test kit. If you don't have one, the best thing to do is just keep up with small consistent water changes - like 30% weekly or bi-weekly - but not changing 100% of the water ;) Best of luck!

bacterial bloom? it should clear up a little bit after that though...provided you have good filtration and circulation
