      Hmm...if it's an auto feeder that makes it a little more tough. They'll probably be fine by just make sure the autofeeder won't overfeed them and just do a water change as soon as you get back.

    My Red Ears are 10”, 8.5” & 8”obviously feed bites according to turtle comfort swallowing. To get your turtle to eat fish, greens, fruit wait a few hours after they normally eat. I cut mango & apples up & microwave a few seconds so it’s a little softer. I boil fish to kill anything that might harm my turtles. It also makes it easier to eat. Be careful they love fish and will keep eating until the cows come home. That’s a long time cause I don’t have any cows 😂😂😂😂

    I was wondering if turtles need a hideout in their cage? Like a place to hide in case they feel startled or unsafe for any reason (such as guests coming over) or do they not mind??

    • @samuelnunez2842
      @samuelnunez2842 3 года назад

      I would definitely add one. They can hide when they want, then come out if they're comfortable!

    • @TheTurtleGirl
      @TheTurtleGirl  3 года назад

      A hideout can mean different things...I'd be careful about caves since they could potentially get stuck - but things like live/fake plants and other decor that they can hide in and behind are great and can make them feel secure!

    Hello the turtle girl! I was wondering if you could make a video of how to get baby turtles to trust and not be scared of you, I have a baby turtle and nothing seems to be working. ☹️

      Food is the key to their trust! Walk or move slowly when you go by their enclosure so they get used to you, and if your turtle sees you are the one providing them food, they'll warm up to you eventually!

    "Give them a nice tank and they probably wont try to escape on you" my 5 yr old res lives in paradise but still decided it would be fun to front flip out of his tank 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
    He is totally fine, but until I ca go to a store and get a lid, I have my 10 gallon mesh screen duct taped to the tank
    I swear all turtles think they have nunchucks🤣🐢
    He really lives up to his name michaelangelo haha

    Should I feed an adult turtle live food? Because I’m being given a turtle that’s around 20 years old and I’ve been hearing things about live feeding so I’m wondering if I should feed him live food.
