Was lucky enough to see them on the Stakes is High tour. Venue was about this size. And yes it was the best gig I've ever seen. And respect to the one guy in the crowd here getting down. He knows.

The audience isn't amazing, but to be fair, I find that most hip-hop shows are mixed so poorly in a live setting. What the audience is most likely hearing: Some beats at a low volume and a lot of rapping/shouting that is bouncing off the walls in a larger venue. The mix we're hearing in the video is most likely a soundboard mix. I saw De La in 2002 (with Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse). It was in a big space. It was all shouting. Music low in the mix. It was so hard to really listen or vibe to it. Not De La's fault,... I've noticed this at hip hop shows in bigger venues.
